Matrix Survival: I Get A Random Chest Every Day-Chapter 892 - 631: Spiritual Realm (Part 3)
Unless the Outer City can find something rarer, less abundant, and inherently more valuable than a Magic Crystal to use as collateral instead.
For instance, gold recognized by all countries on Earth.
The Coin Exchange was very reminiscent of the banks in Li Zheng's memory. Due to the currency's special nature, it was difficult to replace manpower with self-service machines, so there were no fewer than two hundred service counters set up here.
Li Zheng looked over the Red Crystal Coins in his hand and handed them back: "Please help me deposit them back into my card."
Behind the counter was an alien species with an octopus-like head. Seemingly accustomed to such actions from Li Zheng, it showed no unusual behavior and casually took the Red Crystal Coin and Inscription Card, operated a machine behind the counter, and handed the Inscription Card back.
Li Zheng carefully stored the card, stood up, left the Coin Exchange, and returned to the Blacksmith Shop, where he took out some of the medicine he had bought and gave it to Mirel.
"I've found a way to help you quickly enhance your spiritual power. Once the Blacksmith has finished modifying the Lamp Holder, we can give it a try." Li Zheng briefly explained what he had discovered during his outing to Mirel.
Mirel quietly listened, pondered for a moment, then spoke: "The Optimist Race's talent seems extraordinarily similar to the mental tides that members of the Enchanting Demon Race experience upon reaching adulthood, both involving some kind of mutation in spiritual power."
"Mutation?" Li Zheng's heart stirred at this word.
If there's another possibility that prevents others from replicating the talent of the Optimist Race, then a mutation in spiritual power is undoubtedly the most likely.
Because mutations are distinctive and cannot be reasoned with common logic, even the most authoritative experts would not dare guarantee they could induce such targeted mutations in their field.
"Yes, you mentioned that you could project your spiritual power outwards to observe others' spiritual bodies within their minds." Mirel suggested, "Why not try to enter mine and help me find the source of the mental tides in the Enchanting Demon Race?"
If they could locate and contain the source, or even solve it at the root, future newborns of the Enchanting Demon Race might be free of the torment of mental tides, no longer mocked or scorned by other demons with terms like wanton.
"Alright."
Li Zheng agreed, also wanting to see what changes would occur in the Spiritual Realm after a normal node is formed.
"Relax your defenses and do not resist. It's best to suppress the instinctive resistance of your spiritual power, or otherwise, you might get hurt." Li Zheng reminded Mirel as he prepared to enter her Spiritual Realm.
"No problem, go ahead." Mirel closed her eyes, her long lashes gently quivering, charming and alluring.
Seeing she was ready, Li Zheng released a sliver of spiritual power to explore Mirel's mind.
Unlike entering Le Jia's mind, where he was infected with evil qi and left defenseless, allowing Li Zheng easy entry without any hindrance.
But with Mirel staying conscious, despite her efforts to suppress the instinct to resist with her spiritual power, Li Zheng could still sense a slight resistance.
Yet before him, this resistance was almost the same as leaving the door open, making it effortless for him to delve into Mirel's Spiritual Realm.
"Hmm?" Mirel's spiritual body was a tiny figure identical to her, not tall, proportionally equating to about half her actual height.
Yet the spiritual body was vivid and solid, evidently much more substantial than Le Jia's.
At the moment, she seemed to see Li Zheng and tilted her head: "How come you, like Void, can reflect others' appearances?"
Li Zheng "heard" this question and was momentarily taken aback.
Suddenly, many things fell into place.
Such as, why did Le Jia get so frightened upon "seeing" his spiritual body, allowing the evil qi to take advantage?
It's because his spiritual body, from others' perspectives, appeared exactly as themselves, and for residents of the Outer City who have never experienced such an encounter, seeing an entity infinitely stronger than themselves but identical in appearance would naturally terrify them.
This was far more terrifying than merely seeing a spiritual power master!
"Perhaps it's some characteristic left by Void." Li Zheng couldn't be sure, but having received all of Void's spiritual power, it seemed reasonable that he inherited some of its spiritual characteristics.
Moreover, previously in the Dark Realm, when Mirel faced him directly, she didn't notice this phenomenon, so Li Zheng was certain the change occurred after receiving Void's infusion of spiritual power. 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"It's my first time seeing your spiritual power outside the Dark Realm." Mirel looked around and asked bewilderedly, "What is my Spiritual Realm like?"
Li Zheng couldn't help but blink in surprise: "You can't see?"
Mirel shook her head: "I can't see. I can only see your figure and that node in my mind, but I can't see what the rest of the Spiritual Realm looks like."
"Hmm..." Li Zheng surveyed around. Mirel's Spiritual Realm was different from Le Jia's.
Le Jia's Spiritual Realm was an isolated island floating in the void, his spiritual power the inhabitants of the island, residing on that one mu three fen land.
It seemed like a part abandoned by the world.
Besides that, Le Jia's Spiritual Realm was void of anything else.
Whereas Mirel's Spiritual Realm was much more vibrant.
It might be related to her life's experiences; her Spiritual Realm bore a terrain very similar to an Abyss, vast yet desolate.
All that could be seen were blacks and grays, while her spiritual body stood at the very center, all alone.
In the distance, trees resembling a certain kind of plant were visible all around.
These were all reflections of Mirel's Spiritual Realm, indicating the deepest impression she had was of her hometown, that Abyss.
Glancing upward, a pale golden sphere hung overhead, slowly spinning.
As the sphere rotated, it created a weak suction; occasionally a wisp of spiritual power would escape from Mirel's spiritual body and be instantly absorbed by the pale gold sphere.
"So, it turns out everyone's Spiritual Realm is unique."
Li Zheng recounted what he saw to Mirel, "But I haven't found the source of your mental tides, perhaps because you're not currently experiencing a burst of them."
The mental tides from the Enchanting Demon Race are not continuous; they appear intermittently.
Fortunately, the occurrences followed a detectable pattern, allowing Mirel to calculate the timing and prepare defensively before the tides struck.
With Li Zheng's assistance, the frequency of the tides had been slowly decreasing, extending the intervals between the outbreaks and significantly relieving Mirel's daily burden.
"The next mental tide is supposed to come in about half an hour." Mirel gazed at Li Zheng, suddenly flashing an alluring smile: "But I know a way to induce it early."
Watching her smile, Li Zheng felt his legs tremble involuntarily, nearly turning to escape the scene.
