Chapter 227: Chapter 180 Miss, who are you?

Often a single rain would usher in the autumn in Beijing.

Chen Cheng groggily opened his eyes, only to find Wen Shulin already gone from his side, leaving behind only a still-warm quilt.

He got out of bed and felt the coolness of early autumn sweeping in.

From the kitchen wafted the aroma of bacon and the scent of coffee; Chen Cheng walked over to see Wen Shulin, wearing an apron, skillfully flipping the bacon in the pan.

Chen Cheng gently embraced her from behind, his chin resting on her shoulder, "You’re up so early?"

Wen Shulin pressed her face against Chen Cheng’s, "I wanted to make you breakfast."

She turned around in Chen Cheng’s arms, "Did you sleep well last night?"

"With Chairman Wen’s personal sleep-comfort service, of course I did."

"Your mouth is sweet again." Wen Shulin laughed teasingly, "Go wash up, the food will be ready soon."

Chen Cheng then let go and headed to the bathroom.

Brand new toothbrushes, towels, and a mouthwash cup were neatly arranged, only it wasn’t like Mei Xiang to have the toothpaste all squeezed out ready.

This might just be what sets her apart from others.

After brushing his teeth and hastily washing his face, Chen Cheng returned.

A refined breakfast was already laid out on the kitchen island.

Though most of it was just warmed-up or precooked items, probably only Chen Cheng could motivate Wen Shulin to get up early and prepare this.

"Coffee?" Wen Shulin offered a cup.

Chen Cheng nodded, "Double shot."

"Okay."

She turned her back, pressing down the powder, and spoke, "After eating, I’ll take you to see our new home."

"Did you buy it already?" Chen Cheng remembered their aspirations in the Imperial Palace and asked with a smile.

Wen Shulin gave a smile, "While you were in Japan, I wasn’t idle for even a day."

"Does that sound a bit sour to me?" Chen Cheng picked up a lightly toasted slice of toast and spread some strawberry jam on it.

"Who asked me to choose you?" Wen Shulin handed Chen Cheng the coffee and sat down opposite him.

Her legs elegantly crossed over each other on the high stool.

Chen Cheng also prepared a slice for her; Wen Shulin took it and then remembered something.

"Right, this is what you asked me to prepare for you."

She took out a Cartier box and casually placed it on the table, "Don’t ask me to prepare it for you next time."

Chen Cheng opened it to see a latest model full-diamond rose gold bracelet.

"I didn’t have time this time, right?" he closed the lid and said with a smile: "Thank you for your efforts."

"It looks like Mei Xiang has enchanted you."

"Really?"

Wen Shulin smiled and remarked, "Last night you were talking in your sleep, all confused, and even called out Mei Xiang’s name."

Chen Cheng raised his eyebrows at her teasing gaze, "I definitely didn’t say that."

"So sure?" Wen Shulin sipped her coffee, her lips curving up.

Chen Cheng replied, "If I were talking in my sleep, I would talk about why you didn’t close the windows? The rain was drifting onto the quilt."

Wen Shulin’s face turned red, "You~!"

Chen Cheng chuckled, he stood up and directly lifted Wen Shulin onto the kitchen island.

"Ah~"

"What are you doing~" Wen Shulin playfully resisted.

Chen Cheng spread some jam, "I think jam goes best with you, that’s the tastiest breakfast."

"You’re just being naughty."

Under the apron, the pristine white gained a sweet pink hue as Wen Shulin leaned back, finally finding solace after the stiff resistance the night before.

...

...

East Mountain Villa, being among the top ten luxurious houses in Beijing, was naturally Wen Shulin’s first choice.

In order to create their secret garden, she had put much effort into it.

Not only choosing a lakeside standalone house but also specifically hiring a designer from Daolin Design Firm.

Upon entering the front garden, Chen Cheng noticed a swing in one corner.

This was something he and Wen Shulin had dreamed about, and she had actually made it happen.

"They say Chairman Wen is decisive in her actions, the execution is really powerful indeed!"

Wen Shulin patted Chen Cheng’s arm, "Try calling me Chairman Wen again?"

"You just can’t take a joke." Chen Cheng wrapped his arm around Wen Shulin’s shoulder, walking forward, "Calling you Chairman Wen, doesn’t it just show off my capability?"

"Look at you being capable!" Wen Shulin chuckled.

At the entrance door, she said, "Stretch out your hand."

"What’s up?"

"I need to record your fingerprint!" Wen Shulin pressed Chen Cheng’s thumb down, "From now on, this will be our home in Beijing."

The two entered the house, and the spacious, bright living room was immediately inviting.

The huge floor-to-ceiling windows offered a panoramic view of the lake, while a gentle breeze slightly swayed the white sheer curtains.

The house was still empty, the furniture yet to arrive.

Walking inside, their footsteps echoed.

"In about half a month, the furniture and everything will be ready," Wen Shulin mentioned, "The study and bedroom upstairs might take a month."

Chen Cheng nodded, "No rush, we can take our time."

Wen Shulin walked to the large windows, looking at the green lake, smilingly asked, "Anything else you’d like to add to this home?"

"I think having you here is the best embellishment."

"Stop it, I’m being serious!"

Chen Cheng thought for a moment, "How about planting some flowers? Roses? Lilies and sunflowers?"

"That’s actually a great idea!" Wen Shulin pointed to the front yard, "We can plant flowers there, and in the backyard’s small vegetable patch, we can grow some seasonal vegetables."

"A lovely pastoral life begins."

Wen Shulin giggled, and Chen Cheng suddenly remembered something, "Right, can you recommend your interior designer to me?"

"What’s up? You buying a house?"

Chen Cheng explained his house buying from Li Bo, and upon hearing it, Wen Shulin frowned slightly, "Are you planning to hide your mistress?"

"Hide whom?"
