Chapter 2124: Chapter 2101: Not a Gentleman

Gao Yang will be working in Yemen in the future, and Nate will be striving in Ukraine for Angel’s dream. From now on, unless there’s something particularly big, it’s likely there will be few chances to meet again.

Both of their professions are extremely high-risk, and what they’re doing is like walking on a razor’s edge. This farewell could possibly be a goodbye for eternity.

They salute each other and say goodbye, and Gao Yang turns and leaves.

If Gao Yang just left like that, the parting scene between the two mercenary leaders would have been very moving, but after just a few steps, Gao Yang’s phone rang.

Seeing that it’s Little Donnie calling, Gao Yang, who generally always takes his call, answers it while walking and softly says, "What’s up?"

Little Donnie’s voice was urgent. He hastily said, "Can you watch TV? Check the news right away, Badadi has appeared!"

Gao Yang immediately stopped in his tracks, extremely surprised, "Badadi? He’s on TV? What’s going on, I can’t watch TV here, explain it to me."

Little Donnie caught his breath and said in a very heavy tone, "Badadi appeared to announce the founding of a state."

Gao Yang had never given up on finding Badadi’s whereabouts. For a long time, there had been occasional news about IS, but it hadn’t been particularly noteworthy, and Badadi had never surfaced. It wasn’t even certain whether Badadi was already dead since Tommy did indeed injure Badadi with that shot.

But now, Badadi has reappeared, and in a very high-profile manner.

Gao Yang took a breath and softly asked, "What news?"

"CNN, I just saw the news, but I’ve never seen Badadi. I don’t know what he looks like, so I don’t know if the Badadi on TV is the one we’re looking for. Boss, you have to verify it quickly."

"Got it, don’t inform anyone else for now, I’ll confirm it first."

After hanging up, Gao Yang turned back and, looking at Nate who was still standing there, said in a deep voice, "Do you have a TV? I need to watch CNN."

These days, sometimes the news from TV stations is the most well-informed. As a free and very timely source of intelligence, Nate had to have a TV available for himself.

"I do, come on."

With power supplied by a generator and signal from a satellite dish, Gao Yang quickly began watching the TV, but the same news won’t air continuously, so he and Nate kept switching channels until they saw a bearded man on a news channel.

Although it was just a very short clip and the audio was muted to conceal some crucial speeches, Gao Yang could immediately tell that the man on TV was Badadi, the one he was looking for.

Seeing Badadi again, Gao Yang thought he wouldn’t be as angry as before, but he couldn’t help it. Seeing Badadi brought back flashes of Bruce foaming at the mouth, over and over again.

When it comes to revenge, Gao Yang isn’t someone who forgives easily.

Gao Yang fell into contemplation.

Seeing Gao Yang clench his fists and stand motionless in front of the TV, Nate suddenly said, "Hatred is something you sometimes need to let go of."

Gao Yang turned his head to look at Nate and said in a deep voice, "Are you teaching me to be more magnanimous?"

Nate shook his head and said, "No, I just think hatred should give way to more important things. If you focus your attention on revenge, you’ll have to give up many other things. Given the current situation, you can’t pursue both revenge against Badadi and your plans in Yemen simultaneously."

Gao Yang nodded slightly and said, "That’s right."

Nate continued, "If it were me, I might temporarily let go of hatred to focus on more important matters. But of course, you’re you; I’m just sharing my personal thoughts for your reference."

Gao Yang exhaled and said, "A gentleman takes revenge ten years later, a petty person seeks it from dawn to dusk, and I am no gentleman!"

Nate chuckled, shrugged, and said, "Then there’s nothing more to say. I wish you accomplish your goal soon."

Gao Yang pondered for a moment. He realized that some plans might need to be adjusted.

If during the last chase for Badadi, he had more people, more capable hands, perhaps they could have directly taken down Badadi without waiting until now.

Having more personnel means there are more attack plans to choose from, more options, so every strong combatant is precious. Even if it’s uncertain whether they can immediately find Badadi’s whereabouts and take action, Gao Yang must be prepared.

After pondering for a moment, Gao Yang said, "Those two women, I’m taking one with me, Phoenix is an excellent sniper, and I need her."

Nate calmly said, "You don’t trust her enough."

Gao Yang nodded and said, "True, but she’s not unusable. Knowing some of our things wouldn’t lead to irreversible consequences. Compared to the combat strength she can provide, her background is acceptable."

Phoenix had already been assigned to the combat unit with Lilia. Gao Yang wouldn’t always take them along, so to take Phoenix with him, they needed to recall her.

Nate picked up his radio and said, "Get the Undying Bird here, reassign Lilia, now."

After putting down the radio, Nate looked at his watch and said, "It will take about an hour to get them back. Since you’re taking the Undying Bird away, what about the other one?"

"She’s Rabbit’s girlfriend; you’ll have to take care not to let her get killed, and don’t pair her up as a spotter with a man. Can’t you find another female sniper for that?"

Nate said, annoyed, "What a hassle, just a girlfriend, and by the way, I’m curious why, if you’re so worried about her safety, you’d send her back to Ukraine to trouble me."

Gao Yang helplessly said, "Don’t say so much. If I could persuade that idiot, do you think I would send her here? In any case, you have to handle it well for me. Even though she’s just a girlfriend, we can’t let Rabbit be cuckolded."

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing, just don’t give her the chance to develop feelings for another man over time."

Nate, exasperated, said, "Got it, I’ll keep an eye out."

Gao Yang continued staring at the TV and sighed, "If Justin were still here, he’d provide us with intelligence on Badadi, but Justin’s disappeared and is likely dead. Damn, right now, what I need most is intel, Badadi’s hideout to be precise."

Nate nodded towards the TV and asked, "What do you plan to do?"

Gao Yang nodded and said, "I have some ideas. Right now, our most reliable ally is Syria. I need to get in touch with them; maybe they have some clues."

"You still have connections with the Syrian top brass?"

Gao Yang chuckled and said, "Of course, don’t forget, I am a general of Syria."
