Chapter 2136: Chapter 2113: Disaster Without Cause

Mario seemed to ask casually, but Gao Yang was analyzing the true intention behind Mario’s meeting with him.

Now it seemed that Mario’s invitation was not out of any high expectation for him or consideration for Satan’s future development, but rather to inquire about Justin’s whereabouts after meeting Gao Yang.

From any angle, family feuds should be settled behind closed doors without involving outsiders, but unfortunately, that’s hard to achieve.

Gao Yang was somewhat wary because Mario seemed to want to drag him into the Cicero Family’s internal strife. However, he didn’t need to worry much, because a meeting invitation from a big boss like Mario was bound to be safe.

If Mario invited him over only to attack afterward, that would be crossing a line. Even if Mario deemed Gao Yang an enemy rather than a potential partner, he had to wait until Gao Yang was out of his door before making a move. The higher one’s status, the more one must adhere to certain rules, as many rules are established by them in the first place.

The only concern Gao Yang had now was whether or not Mario would be willing to cooperate with him.

At present, it seemed that Gao Yang’s worries were unfounded. Mario showed no sign of displeasure; on the contrary, he looked quite happy and said with a smile, "I’m glad you made the correct choice, which is to cooperate with me because I can offer you more. Now, tell me, what information do you want?"

Gao Yang wouldn’t reveal everything because the information he wanted to buy would leak a lot about himself. So, after thinking for a moment, he smiled and said, "I don’t have any specific information to buy right now."

Mario nodded repeatedly, smiling as he said, "Not at the moment? That’s okay. If you need any information, just remember to come to me. Now, let’s focus on dinner. Once you understand more about me, you’ll enjoy dealing with me, the kind of person I am."

As he spoke, the hot dishes were served. After the waiter replaced Gao Yang’s plate with a hot one, he brought a bottle of red wine, still placing it in front of Gao Yang, and whispered, "Sir, is this wine alright?"

If Gao Yang nodded, the waiter would open the wine. But at that moment, Mario waved his hand and said, "Let me see what wine you’ve prepared for my esteemed guest."

The waiter brought the bottle over in front of Mario. After checking the label, Mario made a face, shook his head repeatedly, and said, "Change it. We shouldn’t be using French wine. My guest should try a wine from my own vineyard, pick the 2004 vintage."

After the waiter left, Mario smiled and said, "My butler has a habit of using French wine when entertaining international guests, but I think you should try the red wine from my own vineyard instead. 2004 was an excellent year; ordinarily, I wouldn’t serve it to just anyone."

Typically, Italian wines are less expensive and don’t match up to some of the famous ones from France in the top-tier red wine category, but this was merely a gesture of goodwill from Mario.

Gao Yang nodded appreciatively, smiling as he said, "I must taste it, then. Thank you for your generosity."

Soon, a new bottle of wine was brought over. Mario picked it up, glanced at it, and then handed it over to Gao Yang with a smile, "Take a look."

Gao Yang took the wine. At this point, Mario waved his hand, saying, "Chill it."

The waiter nodded and immediately left, soon returning with an ice bucket, standing slightly behind Gao Yang. Gao Yang handed the wine over and smiled, "Very nice, I can’t wait to try it."

Mario was smiling, but Gao Yang felt a sudden chill at the back of his head. The wine in his hand wasn’t taken away, but something was now pressing against the back of his head.

Gao Yang paused and said, "Mister Cicero, what’s the meaning of this?"

Mario sighed with a look of helplessness, "I don’t want to do this either, but you’ve chosen to be my enemy, so there’s no other way. Please don’t move, Mr. Ram. If you move, a hole will appear in your head, and the people you brought will be riddled with bullets."

Gao Yang didn’t move; he only watched Mario, while his mind was racing on how to turn the situation around.

Mario had invited him to his home and then had someone point a gun at his head, something Gao Yang hadn’t anticipated. Neither had Number Thirteen nor Yarebin considered this possibility.

Even a crime boss wouldn’t make a move inside his home after inviting a guest over; it’s a matter of dignity.

Mario pushed his chair back and stood up, addressing Gao Yang, "I regret that you chose to be my enemy."

Gao Yang said loudly, "I haven’t set myself against you, Mister Cicero, you seem to have misunderstood something."

Mario still wore a warm smile, but his words were chilling.

"Refusing to tell me Justin’s whereabouts is being my enemy. You don’t seem to understand how important finding Justin is to me. Now I’m telling you, if you intend to keep his secret, you’ll die a gruesome death!"

Gao Yang let out a breath, looking helpless and sincere as he said, "Mister Cicero, please think about it, what reason do I have to keep Justin’s secret? He’s just an intelligence broker, a seller. Working with him or with you makes no difference; it’s purely business, and we are just business partners. Are you insane?" 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

Mario touched his chin, the smile finally fading as he coldly looked at Gao Yang, saying darkly, "Your bodyguards are surrounded by twenty people aiming guns at them. As for you..."

Mario snapped his fingers, and five people rushed out quickly from a door in the dining room, each holding a submachine gun. They formed a fan shape, their faces tense, aiming their guns at Gao Yang.

Gao Yang gave a wry smile, "Mister Cicero, isn’t this a bit too much? Is this really necessary?"

Mario said coldly, "For the renowned Gun God Ram, I naturally have to give a grand reception. Mr. Ram, if you tell me Justin’s whereabouts now, while we might not be able to be friends, we can still be business partners. But if you don’t..."

Mario took a step forward. Gao Yang hoped he would come closer, but Mario stopped in his tracks and looked at Gao Yang, "Your outfit is very nice, well-fitted, but if you don’t speak, your suit will soon no longer fit."

Mario’s final threat was a double entendre; if Gao Yang refused to talk, his clothes might get shredded—though more likely, he’d be turned into a bloated corpse, and the suit wouldn’t fit then.

God help him. Faced with a gun to his head, Gao Yang felt he would spill everything he knew about Justin. But Gao really didn’t know where Justin was. This was truly an unwarranted disaster—a victim of circumstances.
