Meta Essence Gacha in Marvel-Chapter 130: Multitasking

Third Person P.O.V.

Some of the "X-Girls" of the Xavier School are waiting in the front garden because today is the day that they are gonna visit the woman who made Illyana's costumes.

"But is it really okay for us to go? Isn't there like… a lot of secrecy around Eidolon's people?" Jubilee asks the group in general, but it is Illyana who answers with an uninterested tone, like they are worried over nothing.

"It's okay. It was Edna who asked to arrange this, and she doesn't care about any secrecy."

"Edna, huh? Real name?" Kitty asks with interest

"I think so… didn't Google it or anything." Illyana shrugs

"I am gonna do it right now. Do you know her full name?" Kitty takes her phone, but she only goes as far as unlocking her screen when a dark portal appears nearby, and Cassandra steps out of it with Rover on her heels.

"Shadow!" Kitty jumps to hug the hero. "And hello to you too, Rover!" Then she goes to rub the monster dog's head. "Aren't you handsome?" She doesn't look bothered or scared of the creature that can blast the whole area into dust. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

The dog seems to enjoy it too, closing his six eyes slightly while wagging his tail.

The other girls greet her too… Almost all the female X-Men from Jean's age bracket are going, with a few exceptions like Rahne Sinclair(Wolfsbane), Sooraya Qadir(Dust), Lorna Dane, Polaris, and Magneto's daughter, who started frequenting Xavier's mansion in a way to bridge the gap between the groups. Mostly to get away from her father.

There are many reasons for that, some are shy, there are already a lot of people going, even Ororo, who was invited, refused to let the "girls have their time". Even though the girls really consider her part of the group. And she said that she loved her outfit.

The ones that are going are Illyana, Kitty, Jean, Jubilee, Rogue, Tabitha Smith, Paige Guthrie, and Laura Kinney.

"Anyone more?" Cassandra asks in a calm voice while looking around.

The X-Girls are already thinking they are overstepping, but Shadow doesn't seem to mind, even looking like she is expecting more.

"Yep, that's all." Kitty answers.

"Let's go then." Shadow nods and presses a button on her wrist, and a dark portal starts swirling close to her.

"Already? Wait! Can't you give us some heads up?" Kitty calls her "I'm a little nervous…" At this point, Kitty knows Cassandra well enough to understand that the girl doesn't talk much and has the bad habit of thinking that everyone understands her few words or even her complete silence.

Maybe is Eidolon's fault… he understands her complete silence.

That is also the reason why she surprisingly gets along with Laura.

After Kitty said that, Shadow looked at her like she was a little dumb. Heads up for what? "No…" And she enters the portal.

"..." Kitty stays rooted in her place before Paige laughs

"C'mon! Let's go." Paige, aka Husk, is the first to move to the portal

"I just wanted to make sure that I gave a good first impression…" Kitty mutters

"That is not a job interview, Kitty." Rogue rolls her eyes and walks to the portal, too.

"Am I wrong?" Kitty asks while the rest enter the portal

"No…" Jean shakes her head with some amusement. "But relaxa little."

"Illyana said that this Edna woman speaks her mind… If she roasts me, I'm gonna cry."

The girls and dog cross the portal to arrive in a very plain room, the wall apparently coated in some kind of metal, and a single double door in front of them.

Shadow approaches the small panel on the side and presses some buttons, then the walls scan everyone in the room, and only after that does the door open with a tss.

"As expected of Eidolon, the guy is careful…" Tabitha, aka Boom-boom, comments after watching the green light that passed through her body.

"Lax…" Shadow comments

"Lax? This one is lax?" Jubilee asks, and Shadow just nods before walking through the door.

What they found on the other side is just a very long corridor illuminated by a line on the ceiling.

"There's still a corridor and the security is lax, she said." Paige comments

"A very straight corridor…" Jean observes "I guess there's something in the end to attack us." She suggests while looking at Shadow.

Once again, the hero nods "All around." He uses her finger to gesticulate to the ground, walls, and ceiling while making a circle.

"..." Now they are looking at those plain metal walls differently.

Knowing about Eidolon's "always prepared" nature, they can safely guess that it is not anything easy to deal with.

" 'Lax' she said…" Someone chuckles.

What they don't know is that the security on this part is really lax. This route will hardly be the one that an invader would choose, all because Edna is not keen to hide herself.

There's a higher chance of someone just dropping on her mansion from above. The X-girls' jaws would hit the floor if they knew about everything that could emerge from the ground in Edna's garden.

Finally, they reach the end of the corridor only to find an elevator waiting, big enough to fit all of them comfortably.

"Did you guys notice that you can't feel if it's going up or down?" Rogue asks

"I thought I was trippin'!!" Paige exclaims

They can feel that it is moving, but not in which direction. They also didn't have time to figure that out because the door opens, and now they are greeted with something more than a sterilized aesthetic.

They found themselves at a high point, even though they can't be sure if they are not underground. In front of them, there is an invisible staircase that is stuck on the wall and would bring them down to a very aesthetically pleasing room. There are statues, plants, a small waterfall, and many other things that would give the impression of a "purposeful chaotic place". It looks like a cave, but it is still modern.

"This is a rich person's house." Paige comments

"That's true…" Illyana confirms with a nod

"There you are! I was waiting for all of you!" Suddenly, a nasally excited woman's voice greets him, and they look to the side to see a diminutive woman wearing glasses and with a bob cut floating in a high-tech chair.

"Hello, Edna." Illyana shows a rare true smile, very different from her usual smug/scornful expression that she shows most of the time. It seems she has a good impression of the small woman.

"Oh, darling~ How have you been? Is the costume we made serving you well?" Edna turns to the blonde girl with a fond smile, like an aunt who loves to spoil her niece.

"It's cool… I didn't have a lot of opportunity to test it for real, but I love it." Illyana answers with a nod.

"I'm glad this way… You are so young. I will have some words with Eidolon if he puts you in danger!"

"Ugh, I'm not made of sugar…" Illyana rolls her eyes

"I know that, darling." Edna says softly "But the universe is unpredictable, and you have an unnatural disadvantage in experience against most of the evil around."

Illyana huffs in a little annoyance but doesn't talk back. She is not inexperienced, but she also can't argue that she has a lot of untapped potential. That's what Eidolon said to her.

Eidolon didn't treat her like a fragile, stupid kid, or tell her that she isn't ready… he said that she can be even more ready. If she is good now, imagine her at 15, trained by him.

That is how he curbed her tendencies while everyone else failed; he didn't point out her weakness(her age, something she can't change), but talked about her strength.

But Hope is really the last thing that dies…

In the shape of a black-clad hero that suddenly appears above the floating bomb, his hand sweeps downwards, and a buzzing sound echoes as his movement seems to swallow space, the bomb disappearing like he just snatched it. with a giant invisible hand.

"..." A pin drop silence reigns in the incredibly busy place, an unusual thing to happen. This place has probably never been so silent since many millennia before, when nothing existed here.

The spell was only broken when Eidolon landed on the ground with a muffled thud. "It's okay… I'm here." He says, his confident catchphrase now laced with relief.

People shouted, cried, cheered, and even fainted in relief.

Despite Eidolon's calm exterior, people who know him would see that he is angry… That was close. Too close to comfort, really.

At the same time this bomb was teleported here, an explosion happened in the laboratory he was destroying. Many factors delayed him… but at the same…

'A ten-second countdown?' He thinks, veins start to pop on his temple 'Is this a game?'

You don't play with innocent lives around Eidolon.

"Sinister…" He growls "You wanna play, huh? Alright. Alright." He nods to himself, then he opens his arm.

Clones start sprouting from his body… if Sinister likes cloning so much, Eidolon will answer in kind.

At the same time, a force field starts enveloping the whole Planet! No escape.

The clones sprout quickly and immediately took flight, it's like a colony of bats leaving a small place.

Two… Ten… A hundred… a thousand… two thousand… ten thousand… a hundred thousand…

A million…

ten million…

Fifty million…

A hundred million…

Two hundred… three hundred… Four hundred… Five hundred million…

A billion.

A billion Eidolons cover the sky, spreading in all directions, casting a huge shadow on the city of Paris.

If Sinister is gonna play dirty, Eidolon will cheat too.
