Chapter 1014: Officially Over

Aaaninja’s gaze remained fixed on Aura Nova’s corpse, his face expressionless; to him, there had been no need to drag out the battle against her. He had only been eager to fight against Anthony, and no one else. Although he had initially been eager to fight Aura Nova at the beginning, after witnessing her current battle prowess, he lost whatever anticipation he had once possessed for the battle.

"Aaaninja Chronisynth Eternos wins," Klaus’s voice tore through the air as he announced the winner.

Aaaninja stared at Aura Nova’s corpse one more time before he turned and walked away. After taking two steps, he slipped away from his current point in time, appearing once again at the place where everyone had gathered.

As usual, the mana within the air trembled and wrapped itself around Aura Nova’s corpse, forming a cocoon. After a few minutes, it shattered into countless motes and shimmering shards of mana as Aura Nova stepped out.

Just like Sky Kingsley, Aura Nova did not exactly possess any resurrection abilities; her Omniedit ability simply brought her back to life anytime she died as long as it was not True Death, just as it always repaired her mana core whenever it shattered during her relentless and demanding training.

Opening her sky-blue eyes, Aura Nova remained silent for a moment before shaking her head with a faint smile on her face. She was not bothered by the outcome of the battle; only the path forward remained important, nothing more and nothing less.

Aura Nova’s eyes shifted toward the sky as she watched the vast blue heavens that mirrored the color of her pupils. Internally, she was very happy and deeply grateful that she had attended this Galactic meeting. If she had not attended, she would have spent years within the Dusk Planet believing that she was the greatest talent and the strongest of her generation.

What difference would that have made between her and a frog trapped at the bottom of a well?

If she had not come, she would never have met beings who defied logic just like herself; she would never have encountered Null Anthony, Sky Kingsley, Aaaninja Chronisynth Eternos, Lucian Darkheart, and Vega, individuals who stood beside her in terms of sheer talent and overwhelming potential.

Now that she had stepped onto the Galactic stage, her eyes had been opened to an entirely new horizon, and when she returned, she had many things to accomplish and many weaknesses to eliminate. First, she needed to eliminate the time gap between the casting of an Omniedit Command and its actual activation. Second, she needed to train her sword skills to their absolute peak. Third, she needed to push her Sword Intent to the next stage and then continue pushing it to the stages beyond that. Fourth, she required more battle experience; she needed to stop overwhelming her opponents with absurd Omniedit Commands and instead actually fight them, learn from them, and grow through genuine combat.

And these were only a few of the many tasks she had already listed in her mind; there were many more awaiting her attention. Yet she was not bothered by the overwhelming number of things on her to-do list; instead, she looked forward to them with quiet excitement... to the next level of power she would inevitably step into once she had completed everything she had set out to accomplish.

’It should take me no more than a year,’ she thought to herself in calm silence as she already assigned herself a time frame. One year, just a single year from now, and she would become far greater than what she once was. And the one-year time frame she had stipulated did not mean that it would necessarily take her an entire year; she had only said a year because she was accounting for unforeseen circumstances and unexpected interferences. Without such complications, the time frame would be drastically shorter.

With that thought in mind, she also vanished from where she stood, her body appearing exactly where she had been seated before her battle with Aaaninja.

"Welcome back," Vega stated from the side as she stared at Aura Nova, who had just returned.

Aura Nova’s sky-blue eyes shifted toward Vega as she smiled faintly and asked, "Why didn’t you participate in the spar? I’m sure you are strong enough to take part," her voice calm and steady. She could clearly tell that Vega was by no means weak and possessed just as much talent as those gathered here.

Vega paused for a moment before answering, "Honestly, I thought it was pointless to participate since I saw no benefit in being beaten up," as she spoke, her gaze shifted toward the battlefield below. "But it seems I was gravely mistaken," she concluded in a calm yet thoughtful tone.

Aura Nova simply nodded as she understood her perfectly; after all, she too had once believed the Starborn Tournament was pointless, which was precisely why she had never attended it to begin with.

Klaus, who had been seated to the side, slowly rose to his feet. The moment he stood, countless eyes shifted toward him, conversations dying mid-discussion. As the strongest individual present, he naturally commanded attention despite being relatively unknown to most of them.

With a calm tone and a faint smile, he began to speak, "With this last match, the sparring session between the younger generation has officially drawn to a close." No one clapped at his words, nor did anyone smile or celebrate; this had been a gathering between friends from the beginning, not a competition where rewards were handed out like the Starborn Tournament.

"Honestly, when my daughter called me to watch a spar between friends, I never expected much. After all, what could a group of arrogant young masters possibly display that would surprise someone like me or my wife, Amara?" Klaus continued, his voice completely unapologetic as he did not bother hiding his initial opinion about them. Even if any of them felt anger toward his words, what could they possibly do about it? Quite literally nothing.

"But when I discovered that all of you were friends with Anthony, my opinion began to change slightly. After all, the Anthony I know is not someone who befriends arrogant people or tolerates arrogance," he continued without missing a beat. "And indeed, to my greatest surprise, I was wrong. You all have given me one of the greatest surprises of my life. After all, even I was not as strong as any of you when I was your age."
