Chapter 550: Text. Bake

Anthony could be seen sitting within his room with a smile on his face. After Kingsley had broken his barrier the last time, he had taken extra precautions this time around.

Ever since meeting Vega, he had wanted to be alone and think about her, not spend his time talking to a bunch of married men.

Two days had passed since Anthony had sent Spectre to Warlord Raelith. Anthony didn’t know how Spectre and Warlord Raelith were doing, but he didn’t really care. It had nothing to do with him, and quite frankly, he didn’t feel like bothering himself with things that were already set into motion.

After Anthony had sent Spectre to Warlord Raelith two days ago, he had used the Authority of Information to find out about her phone number. Although he could have gone to any Warlord Raelith to ask for it, why bother going through all that stress when he could get it with nothing but a single thought?

At this point, he and Vega had exchanged a bunch of messages, more than just casual hellos and greetings. It was subtle flirting mixed with growing excitement, and Anthony had eventually asked her out on a proper date.

Vega had accepted, and today was the day, the very day he had been waiting for. The date was set for the evening, precisely at 6:00 p.m., and he had already begun counting down the minutes.

Anthony turned to the sun hanging high in the sky and felt like buying a gun just to shoot it down. He felt as though the sun was taking forever to set, dragging time out like some kind of cosmic punishment.

Anthony had told Vega nothing about the location for their date, as he too didn’t really have a location in mind. He planned to ask her what she wanted to do, and then they would do exactly that. He wanted the date to be natural, not overly planned or forced.

Since he had nothing else to do at the moment, Anthony started reminiscing about his past life, how he had always wanted a girlfriend but was too poor and had no time for that. But here he was, with a girl. Even the dates he had once imagined he could go on, but never did, in his previous life were now possible.

Everything he never had in his previous life was simply here now. Family, friends, money, power... a girlfriend.

His mind shifted to the time he met ??? after being killed by truck-kun. ’At least I thanked him before I left,’ Anthony thought, remembering saying thank you to ??? when he was asked if he had any last words.

With a sigh, he stopped reminiscing as his gaze turned back to the stubborn sun in the sky.

’Maybe I should sleep. When I wake up, it would already be afternoon or close to evening,’

Anthony thought. It was something he usually did in his first life whenever he was hungry in the orphanage.

If he slept, his mind and body would simply forget he was hungry. That way, he wouldn’t have to feel the hunger pangs. He was simply applying the same ’technique’ here. He would sleep so he wouldn’t feel the slow passage of time.

With that thought, Anthony simply climbed onto his bed and slept off, his barrier still in place to prevent any disturbance or interruption.

Within the past two days, Anthony had done nothing but bake, outside of texting Vega.

Bake. Text. Text. Bake. Text. Text. Bake.

This was his entire operation throughout the last two days. Nothing more, nothing less. It was a loop of simple activities, repeated endlessly as though part of some peaceful ritual.

He had also thought of contacting his mother to ask how the Supreme Monarchs’ battle was going against the Demon Monarchs, but he felt like he would be a distraction at that moment.

Anthony remembered his discussion with Warlord Raelith, who wanted to watch the Supreme Monarchs fight. From that conversation, he had an idea, to take Vega to the battle between the Supreme Monarchs and the Demon Monarchs.

He and Vega would have front-row seats to such a grand scale of destruction as they watched from his Mirror Dimension. Although he didn’t yet know the exact location, he had decided to fish it out of Romulus. freёweɓnovel_com

But after a while, he decided not to go that route. Taking his girl to a battlefield for their date was insane, and it being their first date would make it even more insane. It was the kind of thing his father, Null Michael, was capable of doing, not him.

Silence reigned in the room as only the steady breathing of Anthony echoed softly within the space. Hours passed, and the hated sun started to come down little by little, painting the sky with the soft hues of evening.

Immediately it was 4:00 p.m., Anthony instantly shot up from his bed, the sleep in his eyes vanishing into oblivion.

"Time to prepare," Anthony thought with a smile, and with that, he took off his clothes and stepped into the bathroom.

Anthony spent the longest amount of time he had ever spent in a bathroom that day. He was meticulous. After finishing, he began sorting through clothes for the date, testing various combinations and colors, but after ten minutes, he finally picked what he thought was best.

Anthony walked up to a mirror hanging on the wall, adjusting the cuff of his midnight black shirt. The tailored fabric fit him like it had been made by someone who knew his every movement and the shape of his body with perfection.

The top two buttons were left undone, revealing just enough of his chest to hint at confidence, not arrogance, but a quiet, effortless manliness. It wasn’t a statement; it was simply how he wore it. Relaxed, composed, and unapologetically himself.

He pulled on a charcoal gray coat, long and clean-cut, its silver lining catching the light when he moved. It settled over his shoulders with natural ease, flowing behind him like a shadow with purpose. Dark navy trousers and polished black boots completed the look, minimalist, functional, and sharp.

On his wrist, he fastened a sleek silver watch, its face etched with delicate Roman numeral symbols that only someone like him could read. His long white hair was tousled in an effortless, precise way, while his piercing blue eyes stared into the mirror, calm, happy, and hopeful.

He gave a quiet nod to his reflection, then turned toward the door.

Tonight wasn’t about battle or blood.

Tonight... was a date.
