Chapter 978: Endless Spatial Blade

Lucian stared at Aaaninja with a huge grin as he relished the direction in which this battle was heading. He had been waiting for this moment for three whole years, counting through days of preparation and silent anticipation, and now he finally had it standing right before him.

At this moment, he would not hold back, not even the slightest fraction of his strength, because he was only here for Aaaninja and no one else, and nothing in this world could possibly distract him from that singular purpose.

The air around Lucian trembled and roared with frightening force as mana erupted from his core like a broken dam, wild and untamed, flooding outward with violent pressure that distorted the very atmosphere. His black eyes locked onto Aaaninja as he spoke while activating another ability, his voice calm yet resonant, carrying an unmistakable killing intent that seemed to claw at the surroundings.

Endless Spatial Blade

The next moment, space obeyed. It twisted, fractured, reformed, and reshaped itself into crescent-shaped attacks that seemed endless in number. Their quantity rose with each passing moment, multiplying so rapidly that even the eye struggled to track them, while space itself appeared to balloon outward upon itself as though it could no longer contain or hold back its own attacks. The fabric of reality quivered like overstretched cloth, threatening to rip apart under the strain of such forced manipulation.

The next moment, the attacks erupted, all screaming toward Aaaninja’s direction with deafening shrieks that tore through the air like banshees. Aaaninja did not hesitate; his reaction was instantaneous and swift, mana coiling around him like a living serpent, the air folding like paper while time particles danced obediently to his will as though he were their sovereign master.

Temporal Halt

Everything froze around him, space, light, sound, mana, particles, molecules, they all halted. The attacks paused before they could tear into him as space itself surrendered to time, becoming nothing more than a frozen sculpture suspended in absolute stillness, trapped within an invisible cage that only Aaaninja controlled.

Temporal Corrosion

His mana roared again, surging outward with overwhelming authority. Everything snapped back into place, but this time, the millions of crescent-shaped spatial attacks vanished as though they had been deleted from reality entirely, erased so completely that not even an echo of their existence remained. The moment the attacks vanished, Lucian was already upon Aaaninja, his katana screaming toward the Celestial’s neck with merciless precision.

But Aaaninja had already seen glimpses of the future as his Eyes Of Genesis fed him information passively, threads of probability unraveling before his mind like an open book. He raised his own sword to block, confident in the calculated defense, but as the two metals were about to tear into one another, the katana suddenly became illusory as it phased through the sword like a phantom passing through mist.

With that, a sickening flesh-tearing sound echoed as Lucian’s blade tore through Aaaninja’s chest at point-blank range, the strike landing cleanly as he was unable to dodge or react due to how perfectly Lucian had timed the attack.

Blood splattered into the air as the katana tore through Aaaninja’s flesh, but it did not simply stop there. No, Lucian’s blade remained embedded within Aaaninja’s chest, and without missing a beat, Lucian poured more strength into his attack as he pushed his blade downward as though attempting to cut off an entire portion of Aaaninja’s body from the shoulder, intending to cleave him apart completely.

Aaaninja frowned, his second hand clamping down on the katana to halt its descent. He did not activate Temporal Slip to vanish. No, this time, he chose to go on the offensive. Mana bent to his will yet again as he activated another skill, the particles around him vibrating with ancient authority.

Chrono Imprisonment

The next instant, time particles obeyed like angels before their god, and in the following heartbeat, an entire square-boxed prison made entirely of condensed time particles snapped into place, encasing both Aaaninja and Lucian within its invisible yet absolute boundaries, sealing off escape routes with merciless finality.

Lucian’s black eyes shifted toward the forming prison. He did not need anyone to tell him to move. Space bent around him as he immediately prepared to teleport away before the Chrono Imprisonment could bind him, but before he could leave, Aaaninja’s voice echoed again, calm yet absolute. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

Temporal Displacement

The next moment, Lucian felt his entire body halt. Then his body reversed in motion, not just his body but his mana as well. He seemed to move backward as though time itself had been rewound, retracing the same sequence of actions he had just completed when he had slashed Aaaninja’s chest.

The moment he was caught under Temporal Displacement, Chrono Imprisonment completed, and within this prison, Lucian Darkheart was sealed. Chrono Imprisonment did not simply imprison the body, for if it did only that, it would be no different from Temporal Halt.

No, it halted the body, the mind, the soul, thought, and consciousness itself. Thought became a luxury that could never form, as though one had entered the perfect state of stasis, the delicate and terrifying balance between life and death where existence neither progressed nor ended.

Aaaninja did not delay. He immediately attacked, his blade blitzing for Lucian Darkheart’s neck, the silver edge barely inches away, ready to sever head from body in one decisive motion, but before he could decapitate him, everything fell into absolute silence as though existence itself had lost its meaning.

Silence grew louder, then twisted into noise. White became black. Mana became chaotic and erratic as though existence itself were being corrupted from its foundation. Then, in the next moment, Lucian’s body seemed to glitch as though he were a virus in reality, fragments of his form flickering like broken data, and then he vanished entirely as though the Chrono Imprisonment could not contain him, and indeed, it could not.

Aaaninja’s eyes narrowed as his sword missed, his blade cutting through nothing but empty space and time. He could not help but click his tongue at how persistent Lucian was. After Lucian had somehow managed to bring himself back from nonexistence into existence before, Aaaninja no longer put anything past Lucian’s capabilities.

As for how Lucian was able to escape Chrono Imprisonment, it was simple. Reality Anchor had worked perfectly fine. After all, he had already anchored himself into reality so that whenever he was sealed, he would automatically be freed through whatever means reality could devise, so long as it did not negatively affect him in any way.

Aaaninja’s eyes snapped skyward as he sensed an incomprehensible amount of mana gathering around Lucian like a storm, thick and suffocating, the sky shaking violently as though the heavens themselves wanted to collapse under the pressure.

’He still has this much mana?’ Aaaninja thought to himself as he stared in disbelief. It had to be known that what Lucian was doing was not a normal attack. He was unleashing reality-shaping techniques one after another, bending laws and principles without restraint. Surely, his mana reserves should have taken a severe hit by now.

But with the amount he was gathering, it seemed as though he had not even used a single drop from his reserves. And indeed, he practically had not used any at all, because every time he expended a noticeable amount of mana, he would swiftly use Event Rewriting to refill his mana core to the brim once again, restoring himself to perfect condition as though nothing had ever been consumed.

Hence, he practically possessed infinite mana in a sense, cheating Law and Order itself through this absurd method, standing like an anomaly that even reality struggled to correct.
