MMA System: I Will Be Pound For Pound Goat-Chapter 581: A complete yap
The night passed quietly for Damon, but outside his world, the noise was only getting louder.
The new middleweight champion had successfully defended his belt, and as always, the fans had plenty to say.
Chirper exploded with posts, videos, and clips from every angle.
@MMAKingsOnly
Told you. Told you. TOLD YOU. Damon Cross is HIM. Never doubted it for a second!
@RealFightTalk
MY SAVIOR IS BACK. The king of MMA is here. Bow down.
@FistTalkPodcast
Damon Cross — the best middleweight we've seen in years.
@LateStoppageDebate
Yeah, maybe the stoppage was late. But who gives a damn? Damon put on a masterclass. Stop crying.
@ChokeOutNation
Damon Cross made a statement tonight. You either get steamrolled or you get out of the way. Simple as that.
@MMA_Obsessed
Everyone crying about a late stoppage: sit down. That was the clearest win we've seen all month.
Clips of Damon's final elbow sequence circulated everywhere, some fans slowing it down frame by frame, others making highlight reels before the night even fully ended.
The noise didn't change anything for Damon.
The night rolled on, and the posts kept piling up.
The buzz wasn't just about the win, it was about what came next. Fans weren't holding back anymore.
@PureViolenceMMA
Bro, Damon already BEAT a top light heavyweight during the World MMA Tournament when they were both fighting at middleweight. Man's been ready to move up.
@FightWeekly
Damon Cross is the GOAT of middleweight already. He's cleaned out the division. What are we even doing?
@ChatterCombat
Y'all realize he's running laps around the top ten. LAPS. No one's touching this guy at 185.
@KnockoutFuel
It's not hype. It's not "momentum." Damon's BEEN that guy. He's news now because casuals are finally catching up.
@MiddleweightMadness
Man, Damon beat a better 205'er in a middleweight tourney than half the top five today. Get him up there.
@UFC_DailyGrind
Some of y'all acting like he's a hype train. News flash: he's the conductor. And you're late.
Of course, not everyone bought into the legend building overnight.
@Critic_Zone
Slow down. Damon's good, yeah. But let's not crown anyone off two fights. Let's see him handle a real threat first.
@NotSoldYet
He's not hiatus. He's just flavor of the month right now. Big difference.
Still, the louder voices were clear.
To most of the world, Damon Cross wasn't rising anymore.
He was already at the top.
The hype around Damon's title defense was strong, but it didn't compare to the firestorm that followed his comments about Shane Brickland.
Once the press conference clip hit Chirper, the reaction exploded.
@BrawlersBulletin
Damon already BEAT Shane during the World MMA Tournament—and now he says he'd "obliterate" him today. Bro. That's different.
@FightClubDaily
This ain't even trash talk. Damon's speaking facts. He already broke Shane once. And he made it sound like it would be even easier now.
@KnockoutKings
Damon Cross basically said, "I already handled you once, and now I'd do it worse." COLD.
@MMA_Fanatics
Shane Brickland has no comeback here. Damon already got the W when it mattered most. This isn't talk. It's history.
@HardTruthCombat
Damon didn't just dismiss Shane. He reminded everybody that he's already proven it—and it wasn't close.
Other posts leaned even heavier into the humor.
@CasualCombatTalk
Shane Brickland after hearing Damon's press conference: painful flashbacks intensify.
@FightNightLaughs
Damon Cross: "I respect him, but I'd obliterate him." Translation: "I respect what's left of him after the last time."
It wasn't just fans, either. Analysts, fighters, and journalists started weighing in, some pulling up old highlights of Damon dominating Shane during their first encounter.
Everyone knew.
Damon hadn't been disrespectful without reason.
He had already proved it once—and judging by his words, if they fought again, it would only be worse.
The momentum wasn't slowing down.
Everyone expected Shane Brickland to say something.
After all, he wasn't the type to let anything go.
Sure enough, within hours, a video popped up on Chirper—recorded straight from Shane's car, phone barely propped up on the dashboard.
He stared into the camera, hat pulled low over his messy hair, a vein pulsing slightly in his forehead as he started.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, everybody and their momma in my DMs talkin' about, 'Oh my god, Damon said he'd obliterate you!' Oh, Damon's the king now! Damon's unbeatable! Shut the fuck up, all of you."
He shook his head, wiping his face like the stupidity was physical.
"Listen, man, first off—fuck all that noise. Damon's good. I'll say it. Yeah, he's good. But like, you actin' like the guy's a fuckin' god now because he beat PDD? Bro, PDD's been shot since he lost the belt! You beat a dude with one foot in the grave and now you think you're a GOAT?"
He laughed, sharp and mocking.
"And yeah, he beat me in the tournament. Whatever. Go ahead, clip it, play it back. I didn't have a camp. I didn't even know who the fuck I was back then. I was drinkin', bangin' chicks, not even training right. Wasn't even takin' my career seriously."
He pointed at the camera, jabbing his finger aggressively.
"This me right now? This version? I'd fuck Damon up. And not like, ohh maybe—NO. I would beat the fuck outta him. I would stuff his little bitch takedowns, knee him in his dumb little Irish face, and knock him out cold. And I'd do it smiling."
Shane leaned back for a second, like he was calming down—then immediately leaned forward again, angrier.
"And you idiots talkin' like I'm some walkover now? Man, fuck all of you. I ain't scared of Damon Cross. You know what he is? He's a fuckin' protected poster boy. He's what you get when you take a fighter, wrap him in bubble wrap, and suck his dick every time he wins a fight."
He wiped his mouth, getting even more worked up.
"And all these fake-ass fans—ohhh Damon's the best ever! Damon's the middleweight GOAT! Bro, he's defended the belt ONE time. ONE. TIME. And you already got his nuts so far down your throat you can't breathe."
He stared dead into the camera now, voice low and angry.
"Damon, you can't talk about obliterating me, bro. You don't get to say that when you caught me at my worst. When I was partying more than training. Fight me now, motherfucker. Fight me now when I'm ready. I'll turn your fuckin' face into mashed potatoes."
He sat back, breathing a little heavier, eyes wild.
"And don't think I forgot about your little buddy squad hyping you up, either. Bunch of yes men. Fuck all of you too."
Shane turned the camera slightly, showing the half-empty Freaky energy can and the fast-food bag in the passenger seat, laughing again like he barely cared.
"Yeah, I'm not fuckin' perfect. Yeah, I still eat like shit sometimes. But guess what? I'll still knock your fuckin' head off your shoulders."
He grabbed the phone off the dashboard, bringing it close to his face for the final words.
"You're the champ now. Good for you. But don't get too comfy, princess."
The video ended there—raw, sloppy, emotional.
And within minutes, it was everywhere.
