Chapter 791: 791

This Lizardmen Hunter was a boss-level figure. Originally, upon realizing he was a hunter, Li Yao didn’t even dare to proceed.

Although among the players, hunters are considered one of the worst classes, that’s only true among the players.

NPC hunters are quite formidable. First and foremost, their pets are extremely powerful. Secondly, ambushing an experienced hunter in the wild is nearly impossible.

If Li Yao hadn’t overheard their conversation, he would have definitely given up. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have risked it.

Despite seizing a fleeting opportunity, Li Yao was on the verge of demise. If he hadn’t made ample preparations beforehand, he would have surely perished this time.

“At your service, master,” the first progeny of Li Yao pulled the lizardman hunter out of the marsh. The Lizardmen Hunter immediately bowed to Li Yao.

Li Yao nodded, “Place this object on the Otherworldly Chains. Let’s see if it turns white.”

Li Yao handed the Lizardmen Hunter a palm-sized black crystal. The crystal emanated a faint black aura as if a spirit was sealed inside it.

“As you command, my great master.” The Lizardman had become a progeny, but his body remained unchanged. He retained his past memories, but had lost his free will, obeyingonly Li Yao’s commands.

Li Yao had another trick up his sleeve called the First Embrace. This was a true form of a vampire, but this transformation skill’s rank was still not high enough.

Li Yao closed his eyes; he could clearly sense what the Lizardman was up to.

The Lizardman Hunter went straight back to camp, acting exactly as before, and none could tell that he had actually been transformed.

Despite the chain’s location being in the camp, no one deliberately guarded it. The Lizardman’s approach to the chain was not unusual and many structures stood near the chain.

Some Lizardman players were even setting up stalls near the chain within the camp. The Lizardman Hunter found a hidden spot and the crystal was straightaway taken out.

The crystal, as though attached to some pull, clung to the chain making the black aura within it expand out like countless tentacles. But after a while, the crystal crumbled, and its color remained unchanged.

“Boss, didn’t you go out to catch a new beast of war? How did you return so quickly?” A group of patrolling soldiers seeing the Lizardmen Hunter staring at the chain curiously asked.

A faint red light flashed in the Lizardman Hunter’s eyes, “Nothing much, I was just inadequately prepared. You all patrol the camp carefully and don’t give the damned humans any opportunities. Once I catch a new war pet, I can lead you all to continue the war.”

The patrolling Lizardmen were excited by this. They were bloodthirsty and eager for war, finding it much more fulfilling than patrolling.

Seeing that the crystal had completely evaporated without leaving a trace, the Lizardman Hunter turned around and took his leave.

“As expected,” Li Yao didn’t feel any disappointment. With so many chains around, it wouldn’t be easy to find the key node.

“You don’t have a war pet. Head to the forest in front to catch one, it should suffice for now,” said Li Yao. He then transformed into a Blood Shadow, followed closely by his two progenies.

Li Yao remembered that there was a pack of Dire Wolves in the forest ahead. Among them was a Wolf King which could temporarily enhance the Lizardman Hunter’s combat ability.

With the help of the two progenies, Li Yao lured out the Wolf King and captured it. The moment the Wolf King was captured, there was a melee and the Dire Wolves attacking Li Yao scattered.

“Do you have any acquaintances in other camps?” Li Yao asked.

“I have a brother who also commands a camp,” said the Lizardman Hunter.

“Great, then lead the way,” said Li Yao, who was pleased with this information.

Soon after, they arrived at another campsite. This time, the Hunter easily lured out his so-called brother, and with the help of the two progenies, Li Yao turned him into his third low-ranking progeny.

However, this chain was not the pivotal node they were after. Yet, Li Yao wasn’t discouraged. He continued to create more progenies in the same manner, and there was no limit to these low-level progenies he could produce.

Throughout the night, Li Yao had created nearly fifty boss-level Lizardmen as lower-level progenies and finally found three nodes.

But when he was about to leave, Li Yao discovered an important piece of information. The opponents were building a teleportation array. This left Li Yao astonished as he finally understood why they had constructed such a massive defense barrier.

Even though the teleportation array was already complete and well concealed, thanks to having these progenies, he knew their situation like the back of his hand.

The opponents’ intention was clear – they were planning to attack Undercity.

Li Yao instructed his progenies to go back to their respective districts and then made a small teleportation gate himself.

“Master, you are truly magnificent. You found the key node in such a short time,” Alice complimented, even though Li Yao found the node, there was also a share of the credit for them.

Li Yao didn’t bother with formalities, “I want to know how I can quickly contact my tutor.”

“We have a small teleportation array here. However, it can only be used by one person and has a limited number of transports. Unless it’s very important, please use it cautiously. Under normal conditions, this teleportation array can be used to transport a small troop. However, in unstable spatial conditions, the teleportation would consume more and become much riskier.”

“I have a matter of great importance,” Li Yao said earnestly.

“In that case, please follow me,” Alice said.

Alice led Li Yao into a concealed tent where he saw a running teleportation gate. Li Yao nodded and entered without hesitation.

Li Yao found himself appearing in the Royal District’s Guard Camp and promptly ran to the queen’s palace.

“Are you sure?” The queen looked at Li Yao sternly.

“I am extremely certain. If I hadn’t become a vampire and read their memories through my progeny, I wouldn’t have been able to discover this enormous solidified teleportation array. I even had them checked personally to ensure this. Though they concealed the teleportation array, its size is too large to entirely conceal. Even under these spatial distortions, such a massive teleportation array cannot be fully hidden. If Alice is correct, even under spatial distortions transporting an army shouldn’t present a problem.”

One type of teleportation array consisted of teleportation gates and solid-state teleportation arrays. Teleportation gates were simple; once the teleportation spell was learned and the respective coordinates were known, one could teleport. However, this required a mage’s mana to support it.

A more advanced teleportation gate was connected to a mage tower with strong plane coordinates. A mage could use some materials to construct a solid-state teleportation gate, like the one Li Yao had used to return.

Even more powerful were the massive teleportation arrays, which were linked between two teleportation arrays, or used to capture fixed coordinates teleports. However, each type of teleporting had stringent conditions.

“Since they are now hiding the teleportation array, it means they won’t attack immediately,” the queen regained her calm after the shock…
