MMORPG: I was BUGGED-Chapter 336: Not Today
The defense golems absorbed venomous bites, protecting Xin and his companions.
The spider mannequins, agile and swift, wove through the snakes, taking them out swiftly as they could to make sure that Xin and the others wouldn’t be overwhelmed.
While Hilda’s sword created a lethal barrier against the encroaching snakes from all sides.
In minutes, the once overwhelming swarm was dismantled. Xin’s summons and the combined prowess of Hilda and Seraphim made the battle easier.
Poisonous snakes lay defeated, scattered across the forest floor, their bodies disintegrating into nothingness.
As Lord Scrooge’s group eliminated the snakes, their prowess unfolded like an extraordinary spectacle, captivating the stunned members of Dragon’s Fury.
Lord Scrooge summoned golems and mannequins that executed a perfect synergy of defense and attack. The golems, towering constructs of stone and magic, formed an impenetrable shield around the group.
Meanwhile, the spider mannequins moved with uncanny agility, their razor-sharp claws slashing through the serpent threat.
The summoned constructs showcased a remarkable resilience. Indestructible behemoths, they bore the brunt of the snakes’ strikes, rendering them impervious to the status effects of venomous bites.
The undulating mass of snakes attacked relentlessly, only to be met with an impenetrable defense.
Seraphim, utilizing her unique abilities, became a shadowy wraith amidst the chaos. With a single skill, she could take out multiple snakes, her attacks swift and precise. She weaved through the serpentine horde, leaving a trail of vanquished foes in her wake.
However, the most astonishing display came from Hilda, the dwarf in the group. Gripping her massive hammer with a strength that defied comprehension, she swung it with a devastating force.
Hundreds of snakes were sent flying, disintegrating into nothingness upon impact. The sheer power of her strikes was unparalleled; even the strongest players in Dragon’s Fury couldn’t dispatch a single snake with a single swing.
The forest echoed with the cacophony of clashing elements –– the relentless hiss of the snakes, the resounding thuds of Hilda’s hammer, and the occasional magic spells unleashed by Xin.
As Dragon’s Fury gaped at the display of Lord Scrooge and his companions, a collective shock settled among them.
Questions buzzed through their minds, murmurs of disbelief spreading among the surviving members.
"W-who . . . who are they?" one of them stammered, eyes wide with astonishment.
Alexander Craig, the leader of Dragon’s Fury, stood dumbfounded, watching the surreal battle. The idea of recruiting Lord Scrooge and his companions dominated his thoughts.
The prowess displayed was beyond anything he had witnessed, and they appeared veterans in combat as evident in the seamless coordination of their abilities.
The allure of recruiting such formidable allies dominated Alexander’s thoughts.
Amidst the ongoing battle, Alexander Craig seized a momentary lull in the chaos to project his voice over the din.
"Hey! You guys! You seem strong. Tell you what, I’ll let you enter my guild as core members if you help us out here!"
While Alexander delivered his persuasive proposition, Lord Scrooge’s group had already efficiently disposed of the snakes in their vicinity.
Seraphim, emerging from the shadows, remarked, "Now that the path is clear, let’s be on our way."
Xin concurred, "We’ve wasted enough time in here. Let’s go."
Hilda tapped Lord Scrooge’s shoulder, directing his attention toward Dragon’s Fury. "Looks like someone is talking to us over there."
Xin and Seraphim turned their gaze toward Alexander and the others. Although they were a bit far from their location, fragments of Alexander’s words still reached them.
He was discussing the potential advantages of joining his guild and highlighting the significant benefits they could enjoy by becoming core members.
"Ah . . . behind you–" Xin attempted to warn, but it was too late.
In an instant, a colossal python materialized behind Dragon’s Fury. Their focus entirely on the ongoing conversation, they were caught off guard by the sudden appearance of the giant serpent.
The sudden appearance of the giant serpent caught Dragon’s Fury completely off guard. The members of the guild, engrossed in Alexander’s proposition and the battle were unaware of the impending threat, and hadn’t anticipated the arrival of such a colossal beast.
Alexander, perhaps fortunate or instinctively quick on his feet, managed to evade the creature’s initial strike.
However, Meilyn was not as fortunate. The force of the serpent’s powerful bite caught her off balance, and she was sent flying through the air.
But she was alive with more than half of her HP gone.
In an instant, chaos ensued as the unfortunate members of Dragon’s Fury who couldn’t react in time found themselves ensnared within the giant jaws of the monstrous snake.
The sheer size and ferocity of the creature overwhelmed their attempts to escape, and they became helpless victims of its attack.
The air was filled with the sounds of panicked screams and the gruesome crunching of bones as the serpent made quick work of its prey.
"Whoa, that’s probably one of the bosses in this forest," Hilda muttered. "Just look at the size of that thing."
Xin confirmed that it was indeed a forest boss known as the giant boa. "Looks like this is its territory."
"What do you want to do?" Seraphim asked. "Do you want to kill that thing?"
Xin stared at the giant boa, imagining the potential loots if they defeated it.
However, since Seraphim and the others were present, he couldn’t simply ask Hilda to kill the creature. It would undoubtedly raise suspicion.
Moreover, if they managed to defeat the giant python with just the three of them, questions would arise from Sylvan and the others as well.
Xin had to be cautious with a stranger in their midst.
While the loot from the giant boa could be valuable, the potential trouble it might bring wasn’t worth the risk.
Besides, Xin wasn’t short on rare items; he could easily obtain them by conversing with NPCs.
In a fleeting moment, Xin’s eyes met Meilyn’s. She was still alive, albeit with barely any HP left. There was a sense of helplessness and a silent plea for assistance in her gaze.
For the sake of their friendship and shared history, Xin wished he could help her in this dire situation.
However, in the present moment, the desire to assist wasn’t resonating within him.
"Let’s go."
