Chapter 361: Runway Rescue

"Sorry, I hope you don’t mind. I didn’t tell you beforehand; it was a last-minute problem. I tried to call you, but your phone couldn’t be reached."

Victor explained, his tone a bit flustered, "She’s the only woman I thought of because of her height. I don’t have any girl friends who are the same height as her, and most of the women I know are busy. The models that I knew were either already booked for other shows or had prior commitments."

Taking a deep breath, Victor continued, "Anyway, I don’t have anyone else to ask for help but her. I would really appreciate it if you could let her do this just this once. She would be greatly compensated after the show, and I would take care of her."

Xin blinked and then raised his hand to stop Victor from speaking any further. "Ah, yes. I’ll leave her in your hands."

Victor paused, staring at Xin with an incredulous expression before sighing and smiling wryly. "After everything that I said, that’s all you’re going to say in the end?"

Xin bobbed his head to the side. "What would you want me to say? Xiaxia is of legal age and can already decide for herself. Besides, it’s you who is asking, so I don’t mind. It’s just . . ."

Victor’s expression turned serious, knowing that Xin cared deeply for his sister even if he didn’t show it overtly. "It’s just that . . . ?"

Before Xin could continue what he wanted to say, Xiaxia suddenly emerged from her room and headed to the foyer with Seraphina trailing behind her.

She appeared in a mishmash of branded but gaudy clothing, giving off the impression that she didn’t quite know how to match her outfit and simply went with whatever branded items she had on hand.

She wore a flashy designer dress, the fabric adorned with elaborate patterns and vibrant colors that clashed rather than complemented each other.

The dress itself seemed to be of high quality, but the combination of patterns and colors gave it an overwhelming and somewhat chaotic appearance.

On her feet were a pair of two-inch heels, also designer, but with embellishments that screamed for attention, adding to the overall flashy aesthetic of her outfit.

The heels seemed to clash with the dress rather than enhance it, further contributing to the sense of mismatched extravagance.

Completing the ensemble were various accessories, each one bearing the logo of a different luxury brand. There were chunky gold bracelets, oversized sunglasses perched atop her head, and a designer handbag slung over her shoulder.

Each piece seemed to compete for attention, adding to the overall sense of excess and lack of coordination.

Despite the mismatched nature of her outfit, Xiaxia wore it with confidence, striding into the room with a self-assured air that suggested she was completely unfazed by any potential fashion faux pas.

Victor’s lips slightly skewed.

Xin sighed.

Seraphina simply said with a chuckle, "I told her."

Turning to Victor, Xin asked, "Are you okay with that?"

"What do you mean by THAT?!" Xiaxia growled, then adjusted herself and turned poised to face Victor.

"Sorry to keep you waiting, Victor," Xiaxia said, adjusting her sunglasses. "I’m ready to be your model."

With a confident stride forward, Xiaxia stumbled, but luckily Seraphina caught her just in time, preventing an embarrassing fall.

"Sorry," Xiaxia laughed, a hint of embarrassment coloring her cheeks. "Just a little nervous."

Victor shook his head, smiling warmly as he reached for Xiaxia’s hand. "No need to apologize. Just be yourself, and you’ll do great. Don’t worry, I won’t leave your side throughout the show."

Xiaxia’s face flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and excitement, causing her to lower her gaze to conceal her emotions.

"Don’t overthink it, just walk normally," Xin advised, before turning his attention back to Victor. "As you can see, this is what you’re going to deal with, so do take care of her."

"Huh? What do you mean by deal with?" Xiaxia frowned, puzzled by Xin’s comment.

Victor nodded and laughed a little. "Don’t worry. She’s in good hands. Though I’d love to stay and chat some more, we’re a little pressed for time."

Xin nodded in understanding. "Sure. Take care of her."

Victor glanced at Seraphina with slit eyes, but she responded only with a sweet smile.

"Bye, guys. I’ll talk to you all about this later," Xiaxia said, shooting a smirk at Xin before heading to the elevator with Victor.

"Watch me slay this runway—ugh!"

Xiaxia stumbled on her heels. Fortunately, Victor was quick to assist her.

As Xiaxia and Victor stepped into the elevator and began their descent, Xin couldn’t help but mutter under his breath, his concern evident in his voice, "Is she going to be alright?"

Behind him, Seraphina giggled softly, her amusement palpable. "Do you want to go to the show just to make sure?"

"Go?" Xin pondered for a moment. He was genuinely worried about Xiaxia, and considering he didn’t have any pressing plans for the day, he might as well accompany her.

However, a flicker of hesitation crossed his mind. "But Victor didn’t ask me to go, so he might not want me there."

"There’s also a possibility that he simply forgot to ask you," Seraphina suggested.

"That’s true . . . but shouldn’t those kinds of events have invitations, though?" Xin questioned, thinking aloud.

Seraphina stifled a laugh, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "I am the invitation," she teased with confidence.

Xin pressed his lips tightly together. Right, he almost forgot that she was Seraphina Fey. She didn’t need invitations when making appearances; she would likely receive VIP treatment wherever she went, invitation or not.

"So, how are we going to find . . ."

"Her sister’s name is Valentine, and she’s only here for two days to showcase her Fall collection before she moves to different zones. She’s currently holding her show in Rainbow’s Garden," Seraphina informed Xin, reading casually on her phone.

Xin was amazed at how swiftly Seraphina took action, marveling at her efficiency.

Seraphina noticed his expression and beamed at him. "Should we go?"

Xin quickly glanced at his clothes before responding, "I’ll just get dressed."

With that, he hurried off to his room to change, before they went to Valentine’s show.
