MMORPG: I was BUGGED-Chapter 384: A World Boss’s Wrath
"Be careful! She’s entering Berserk Mode!" warned one of the players, their voice tinged with urgency as they struggled to regain their footing.
"Get ready! We don’t know what to expect from her!" shouted another, their tone laced with apprehension as they prepared for the unknown.
"Attack it! Attack it now!" commanded a third player, their voice filled with determination as they rallied their comrades to action.
But despite their efforts, the players found themselves unable to get closer to Evangeline, her powerful aura creating an impenetrable barrier between them.
Evangeline rose into the air, her gaze sweeping over the players below as she let out a primal roar.
"Enough of this!" she declared, her voice echoing with a chilling finality. "You dare challenge me, the Vampire Queen? You shall pay dearly for your insolence!"
With a menacing laugh, she unleashed a devastating wave of energy that sent shockwaves rippling through the battlefield, leaving the players scrambling to regroup and formulate a new strategy in the face of her overwhelming power.
A sudden shift in the atmosphere heralded the onset of a catastrophic turn of events. The earth beneath their feet began to tremble, the ground cracking and splitting open as if unable to contain the tumultuous energy that surged beneath its surface.
The sky darkened ominously, clouds swirling overhead as thunder rumbled in the distance, echoing the turmoil that brewed within the very heart of the battlefield.
With a deafening roar, thousands upon thousands of undead creatures emerged from the depths of the earth, their decayed forms rising from the soil like a tide of darkness sweeping across the land.
But this was not the end of the players’ plight. With a sinister twist of fate, blood-red vines erupted from Evangeline’s form, snaking their way towards the newly risen undead.
As the vines made contact with the lifeless corpses, a dark transformation occurred before their eyes.
The once inert undead were infused with unholy energy, their features contorting into twisted visages of vampiric menace as they rose to join Evangeline’s growing legion of vampires.
The players stood frozen in shock and disbelief at the sudden turn of events, their minds struggling to comprehend the magnitude of the threat that now bore down upon them.
Nothing could have prepared them for the sight of thousands of vampires running towards them with relentless determination, their fangs bared and eyes ablaze with hunger for blood. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖
"What on earth?!"
"Help me!"
"Argh!"
Shrieks and cries echoed in every corner of the battlefield, adding to the cacophony of chaos that enveloped the players.
To make matters worse, with every zombie that fell in battle, a thick red blood-like liquid burst forth, showering those nearby with its acidic properties.
Anyone unfortunate enough to be hit by the corrosive substance found their HP rapidly plummeting towards zero.
The AoE damage inflicted by the exploding zombies quickly took its toll on the players, causing their numbers to dwindle at an alarming rate.
Despite their best efforts to reinforce their ranks, the relentless onslaught proved too much to handle.
With each explosion, the players found themselves faced with a devastating choice: risk being caught in the deadly aftermath or retreat and regroup for another assault.
The decision weighed heavily on their minds as they fought desperately to stem the tide of destruction bearing down upon them.
With each player that fell in battle, Evangeline’s strength surged, her HP replenished by the blood of her enemies.
The players fought valiantly against the tide of vampires, their weapons clashing with the unholy creatures in a desperate bid to hold their ground.
But Evangeline was not content to sit back and watch as her minions did her bidding.
With a wave of her hand, she summoned forth blood monsters from the very depths of her power, grotesque creatures formed from the essence of her vampiric magic.
These abominations moved with unnatural speed and strength, their sole purpose to protect their mistress at all costs.
The situation grew increasingly dire for the players, their once hopeful spirits now weighed down by the overwhelming odds stacked against them.
Evangeline alone was manageable, her power formidable yet finite. But with her legion of vampires swarming around her, their defeat seemed inevitable.
Caught between a rock and a hard place, the players faced a harrowing choice: to retreat and live to fight another day, or to stand their ground and face the prospect of losing an enormous amount of EXP in defeat.
The decision weighed heavily on their minds as they surveyed the chaos unfolding around them.
The air crackled with tension, the sounds of battle echoing all around as the players grappled with the reality of their situation.
In the end, there was no shame in retreat. With a heavy heart, the guilds conceded defeat, their spirits bruised but not broken.
"Retreat! Retreat!"
The alarm sounded first, a sharp and urgent call to action that pierced through the chaos of battle.
It was Ragnarok Reaper who initiated the warning, his voice commanding attention amidst the tumultuous fray.
Following his lead, Shadowblade, Phoenix Rising, and Doombringers swiftly echoed the alarm, their voices adding to the sense of urgency that hung heavy in the air.
They turned and fled from the battlefield, their minds already turning towards their next move as they sought to regroup and recover from their devastating loss.
With the top guilds retreating, the others had no choice but to follow suit. They were not about to remain in the midst of the vampire hordes and face the Vampire Queen, who had once again replenished her HP.
"What a monster . . ." Ragnarok Reaper commented, his voice heavy with resignation.
"She wouldn’t be a world boss if she wasn’t," Steel Striker remarked, his tone laced with grim acceptance.
"We will return, and this time we’ll be more prepared. Now that we know about her Berserk Mode."
"Don’t forget that World Bosses still have a Last Stand Mode. It won’t be easy."
"It shouldn’t be . . . or there wouldn’t be any challenge in defeating a world boss."
As they retreated, the earth continued to rumble beneath their feet, the sky overhead darkening further still as if mourning the fallen.
And amidst the chaos and destruction, Evangeline stood triumphant, her vampiric legions at her command, ready to enforce her will upon the world once more.
