Mommy Wolf: Raise A Cub, Claimed By His Beast Daddy-Chapter 255: Brewing Storm (IV)
"It is absolutely necessary," Kael replied firmly. "I want to know what I should do next to finally make you my official mate, and to be recognized by the whole kingdom as my one and only Beast Queen."
Sisi sighed seeing how eager Kael was about that. Not that she could blame him, though.
They were supposed to be fated, which meant that he should’ve recognized her from the get-go. But because of his curse, he couldn’t detect her presence, and he said that all of his dreams about her became a blur once he woke up.
She knew how much he missed her and wanted to mate with her.
But at the same time, Sisi was worried that it would only bind Kael endlessly.
What would happen if Sisi had to return to the faerie land eventually? Would Kael be able to continue with his life?
Nevertheless, Sisi replied truthfully, "I do love you, Kael. Else, I wouldn’t wear this promise ring you gave me."
"Then, how about we go to my den at the summit and make it official?" Kael offered. He tightened his grip on Sisi’s hand, trying his best to hide his excitement, but his tail was swinging left and right behind his back, making it obvious that he was very eager.
Unfortunately, Sisi shook her head. "I’ll think about it. We still have a war incoming, Kael. Mating should be the least of your worries."
Kael’s smile dropped. "But it’s not difficult for me to defeat them all. I’m just more worried about civilian casualties."
"But you shouldn’t worry about any of those. Just relax with Jojo and me, and you won’t hear a thing while the kingdom goes to war," Kael said.
But Sisi shook her head immediately. "What are you talking about, Kael? Aren’t I going to be the future queen? What queen would just sit still while her countrymen are going to war? I’ll have to help somehow as well."
"But—"
"—Besides, you should think of Jojo’s future first. He needs to be protected at all costs, so you should make sure the kingdom’s walls will be safe. I don’t want Marik to somehow enter the kingdom again and harm our son!"
Sisi’s words finally snapped Kael out of his eagerness.
Yes, he really wanted to mate with Sisi right now, and whenever he thought about it, his body began to react strongly. So strongly that it was difficult to calm down.
But Sisi had always been a planner, and she basically told him that mating was possible after he made sure everything was safe and secure.
Now Kael was even more determined to win against whichever enemies dared to knock on the gate.
"Alright, I promise you and Jojo won’t be harmed. But after the war ends, I—"
"—We can do that," Sisi completed his sentence.
Again, she was making a promise that she might not be able to fulfill.
Yet, she still wanted to give that promise to Kael, knowing that he needed some kind of encouragement as a war was still heavy on the body and heart, no matter how strong he was.
Kael’s eyes glimmered with excitement, which reminded Sisi of Jojo whenever he finally got something he wanted.
His tail wagged left and right like a fan, which made Sisi chuckle.
"I’ll go back to Jojo. You should prepare everything first," Sisi advised. "I don’t know how long it will take for them to come to our kingdom. But Marik has always been decisive in his actions. He might incite the war faster, just to make sure that we have no way to predict their attack."
Sisi looked sad when she mentioned Marik, and Kael called her out for it. "Sisi, you... you must forget about that man."
"Who? Marik?"
"Yes," Kael said seriously. "You are my mate, and I don’t want you to think of him kindly."
Sisi grinned. "You’re far more level-headed than I thought. But don’t worry, I never loved him, never have, and never will."
"But I’m just sad, because he seemed to genuinely care for Jojo when he became Jojo’s godfather for a while. So to see him fall to this point, only to get revenge on you and harm Jojo is just... painful to see," Sisi said. "I just wish there were a way to stop everything. But the moment he drew blood inside the Beast Kingdom, I knew our connection had been severed."
Kael was glad that Sisi had truly shed all of her kindness for that damned tiger.
She should’ve done that a long time ago, but maybe she still had fond memories of him.
As for Jojo...
His son didn’t need to know about Marik. He would eventually forget about that damned tiger once he grew up.
"I’ll get going then," Sisi said before standing on tiptoe and kissing Kael’s lips lightly. "Stay focused, handsome. I know that you are very strong, but we shouldn’t underestimate our enemy. Marik is very... creative."
Kael was stunned by the kiss at first. He listened to Sisi’s words, but his head was buzzing before he wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her closer.
This time, it was he who planted the kiss on her lips. However, unlike Sisi’s quick kiss, Kael’s kiss was deep and longing.
He had kissed her plenty of times by now, and every kiss still carried the same passion to show that he had never lost his passion for her even after many kisses.
Sisi was the one who pushed herself away to separate their lips, knowing that Kael would have continued until the evening if she allowed him to, or perhaps he wouldn’t be able to control himself anymore and carry her to his den instead, especially since she could feel a thick and hard thing poking her belly.
Her cheeks were as red as a tomato as she patted his chest. "Okay, enough with the kisses. You’re going to kill me with too many of them, you know?"
Kael grinned and finally let her go. She rushed to the Queen’s courtyard while Kael’s eyes followed her attentively.
"A war, huh?" he muttered. "That damned tiger becomes so brave when he gangs up on me."
