Chapter 56 - Hippity Hoppoty, This's My Property!

"Hey Simon, Duncan, I need your help- Woah, Holly shit, what the fuck's going on here!?"

As he returned to 'Simon's Snippets' to prepare a team to head to Mysteful Mansion, he was met with a jet of concentrated steam, which he barely managed to dodge. Phew, nearly got cooked! I'm glad I ducked behind the tree; otherwise, we'd have meat pie for dinner tonight, Lewis Style!

Quickly cooling himself with Coolius Comb, he simmered his head down to barely manageable levels. "What on Earth is going on here? I just left for less than bloody 5 hours, and a fucking weapon of mass destruction is being tested here!? Hasn't anyone heard of the Geneva Convention!?" Exasperated, Lewis began tirading the group as they tested the completed fractionating tower.

Tilting her head, Goblina asked quizzically, "What's the 'Geneva Convention'?" Meanwhile, Titus scrunched his face, doubt appearing within them. Duncan panicked, as no one had told them that Lewis was a hero summoned by the Kingdom of Strisk for the oncoming war with the Demon King. Shit, they must not know that Lewis is a hero!? At least, not now...

Using his vast intellect (and superb timing), Duncan quickly steered the conversation to Lewis. "H-hey Lewis, what d'you want us for a-anyways!?" Turning his head, Lewis was called back to reality.

"Oh yeah, Vice Guild Master Durmast has decided to enlist me in completing a Personal Quest of his. Something about investigating Mysteful Mansion? I need your help, Simon and Duncan, so get prepared..." Shrugging, Lewis offhandedly told them where they were heading, not realising Simon's eyes shrank in fear in the mention of that name.

"W-wait, where're we going again!? Mysteful Mansion!?" Screeching in fear, Simon stumbled back, afraid for some reason. Meanwhile, Duncan contemplated, hand on chin. "Hmm, I have been hearing some...unsavoury rumours about that place for quite some time. Ghosts, Wraithful Shadows, Headless Horsemen, Banshees, Devilmaras..." Upon the mention of each name, Simon grew whiter and whiter, until a loud thump was heard behind them.

There lay Simon, fainted, with white froth coming from his mouth.

Goblina keeld over in laughter, while Titus shook his head at the weak mentality of the Dwarf.

Oh Administrator, please help us...

"Hey, can't we go back? You do know that old coot Durmast is my mother's uncle, right? So we can go and ask him to relegate this mission to someone else..."

Knees shaking in fear, Simon crouched down, hugging his backpack as close as possible. "Aww, guess baby needs his momma now, does he-"

"My mother's dead."

"Oh, sorry..." Embarrassed, Duncan apologised to Simon. Keeping his head down, he power walked to Lewis, too ashamed to talk to Simon.

Meanwhile, Lewis looked at the map, too busy trying to find the way to the mansion to bother with the duo's shenanigans. "We should be there soon. Now, all that's left is-"

"WHO DARES ENTER MY DOMAIN!"

Confused, the trio could only watch as a gaseous form emerged from the woods in front of them, gathering, merging, until a large monstrous being stood in front of them, its three bright red eyes glaring at them.

"YOU THREE TRESPASSERS SHALL RETURN TO WHENCE YOU CAME FROM. LEAVE AND NEVER RETURN!"

"Oh yeah, and what happens if we don't!?" In defiance, the Dwarf's Dwarven blood flared, imbuing him with the courage of his Dwarven Ancestors.

"VERY WELL. NOW YOU SHALL DIE!"

And with that, a giant palm, formed of various toxic gases, swiped at them, corroding everything in its path.

""Shit!""

Atop a mansion, lay a lone, solitary tower, from inside which lights can be seen flashing by every now and then. Just then, they stopped, with a window by the side opening itself.

Emerging from within, dark purple hair can be seen rising, lying above two bright green eyes, shielded by a thick pair of glasses. Hearing the voices coming from afar, she scrunched her eyes, wondering which fools came this time.
