Chapter 358: Chapter 358: Don’t Look For Me

Chantelle became nervous and had no choice but to face him. But they were too close to the edge, and Trenton clearly wanted to push her down. Struggling to fight him, she missed a step and nearly fell.

"What’s wrong? Weren’t you ready to die with me today? I’ll make that happen," Trenton said with a twisted smile again. "I wonder what your man will think when he sees us die together." He grabbed Chantelle’s hand and jumped without a second thought.

The strong wind roared in her ears. Chantelle didn’t want to die with him.

She pulled out the dagger hidden at her side and stabbed his arm hard.

"You’re such a fool. So easy to provoke and you always lose your temper," Trenton said, brushing her nose with his fingers. There was a strange look of satisfaction in his eyes.

Chantelle felt like she must have been blind.

Her body suddenly stopped falling when a thin golden thread wrapped around her waist. Chantelle’s eyes lit up.

It was Lone Wolf.

"Pretty lady, I’m here to save you!" Lone Wolf shouted, pulling hard to drag her away from Trenton.

But Trenton refused to let go.

Chantelle pulled the dagger from her arm and stabbed it into Trenton’s chest. She saw the pain on his face, and then the force around her waist loosened.

Lone Wolf pulled her onto a ledge sticking out from the cliff. When she looked back, Trenton had already escaped from the other side.

"Wanna go after him?" Lone Wolf asked, clearly excited.

He seemed to enjoy the idea of messing with someone as strong and bold as Trenton.

"Ever heard the saying ’Don’t chase a defeated enemy’?" Chantelle replied.

She let out a breath and felt her body growing weaker.

Lone Wolf quickly pulled out the medicine he had brought and started bandaging her wounds.

"You really don’t hold back," he said, frowning as he looked at the bloody mark on her pale neck. "You hid the medicine under your skin. Were you that sure he’d go for your throat?"

Chantelle gave a small, proud smile.

"Trenton’s cautious. If I didn’t do that, there’s no way I could’ve fooled him."

"He only let his guard down when he saw me bleeding. That’s the only thing that could satisfy his twisted sense of revenge," she added.

The medicine she used was strong. If Trenton had seen her blood, he would have been affected too.

"Aren’t you scared he might really cut your throat in one go?" Lone Wolf asked as he finished bandaging her and helped her up the cliff.

Chantelle calmed herself and answered with confidence. She wasn’t afraid.

"But I still don’t get it," Lone Wolf said. "You risked your life just to buy time for your people to get the doctor out of his castle?" He noticed she was struggling to walk and reached out to carry her, but she moved away.

Chantelle took a few deep breaths. She walked slowly, but her steps were calculated.

"Yes, but not exactly," Chantelle said as she opened her palm and showed him a small card.

While fighting Trenton earlier, she had managed to steal the key to his castle. Her tech team had already copied the data and made a duplicate.

More importantly, she had injected Trenton with the same virus that Daniel had. She was sure he’d rush to create a cure, and when he did, her men would get their hands on it.

Lone Wolf walked with her down the mountain. A helicopter she had arranged earlier was waiting for them.

Once they got in, Chantelle leaned weakly against the seat.

Lone Wolf looked at her and thought, Women in love are really something else.

When Chantelle got home, William was already gone. He had probably heard from Trenton that he was injured and rushed back.

"Where’s Mr. Wilson?" Chantelle asked as she walked inside the villa. The three kids were asleep in their rooms, but Daniel wasn’t there.

The bodyguard who had come with Daniel replied, "Mr. Wilson is missing."

"What happened?" Chantelle’s heart sank.

The bodyguard lowered his head. "A foreign doctor came earlier and gave Mr. Wilson an injection, then left in a hurry. When Mr. Wilson woke up, he asked where you were, but we didn’t know how to answer. Mr. Railer and Ms. Stephanie said you went to see their godfather. Mr. Wilson didn’t look too happy after hearing that, but Mr. Railer kept asking him to tell them stories..."

The bodyguard’s voice got smaller and smaller. Chantelle impatiently demanded, "Go on!"

"We saw Mr. Wilson enter Mr. Railer’s room, but he didn’t come out for a long time. We got worried and opened the door to check, but he wasn’t there."

Chantelle opened the door to the children’s room. The three kids were fast asleep and were breathing evenly.

"Did you send someone to look for him?" Her expression turned cold as she quickly tended to her wounds.

"Yes. They told me to stay behind and pass the message to you." The bodyguards had already informed the Wilson Group Of Companies’ branch in Carcosa to search for Daniel.

More than an hour had gone by, but there was still no news.

In a big city like New Yale, finding someone was like looking for a needle in a haystack.

Chantelle checked her phone and saw several missed calls. She knew the bodyguards were trying to tell her that Daniel had gone missing. But at that time, she was in a dangerous situation and couldn’t answer any call.

She had a strong feeling that Trenton had taken Daniel.

She didn’t expect Trenton to move so fast. Now, she felt both regretful and frustrated.

After quickly tending to her wounds, Chantelle planned to head out and look for Daniel. She hoped Trenton wouldn’t go as far as hurting him.

Earlier at the edge of the cliff, when Trenton ignored her pleas and tried to jump off with her, she really felt he had given up on life and wanted to drag others down with him.

"Mommy, you’re back." Stephanie stepped out of her room holding a doll and blocked Chantelle, who was walking out in a hurry.

Chantelle stopped and gently touched her head. "I need to go out for a bit. Can you go back to your room and sleep?"

"Is Mommy going to find Daddy? Daddy said not to worry. He’ll be back soon." Stephanie handed her a small note.

Chantelle opened the note and saw it was really Daniel’s handwriting. "I need to do something. Don’t look for me."

"He left on his own?" she asked.

Stephanie nodded.
