Mr. CEO's Ex-Wife: A Cunning Comeback-Chapter 480: I Just Want To Confirm My Suspicion
As for Stephanie, she would never let those two women bully Chantelle. The only reason she didn’t explode at the time was that Daniel knew them and treated them well.
Instead, she gave them a drug newly developed by Philip. It was made from the drugs found in Trenton’s lab. It could make people feel irritable and act abnormally.
They bullied Mommy because they were close to Daddy, right?
Stephanie would make them ruin their relationship with Daniel with their own hands.
After Chantelle left Jacob’s place, she went straight to Thea and explained the situation. Chantelle suggested taking her out for a stroll.
"No way, Chantie. Do you hate me that much?" Thea trembled.
"I just want to confirm my suspicion." Chantelle felt that someone was targeting her because none of the people around Daniel had been hurt. Only Roman, who stood on her side, was injured.
But nothing happened when she was alone or with the children. Accidents only happened when she was with Daniel. That was what she wanted to confirm.
"What if you’re wrong?" Thea was terrified of anything strange. Just hearing about it was scary enough, let alone going out for a stroll with Chantelle now.
Even when Chantelle explained that it was likely man-made, she was still afraid.
Chantelle dragged Thea into the car. It was not that she didn’t care about Thea’s life. She just had a strong feeling that those people were coming after her, and they would only take action when she was with Daniel.
"Chantie, slow down. I don’t want to die yet." Thea grabbed Chantelle’s hand on the steering wheel.
"Maybe you will be buried beside me the next second. Any last words?" Chantelle teased her.
Thea’s face went pale, and she made a phone call.
"Philip, I’m going to die. Before I die, I want to tell you that I like you! You don’t need to answer me, and you also don’t need to be together with me. I had never thought of being with you. I actually hated you. You never do your things properly and you eat all the food. I don’t know why I like you. Maybe it was the punishment from my previous life..."
Thea said a bunch of things. Chantelle couldn’t hold back and smiled widely.
Philip was stunned on the other end of the phone. Hearing the first few sentences made him genuinely happy. His heart was thumping hard and was accompanied by a pleasant feeling.
However, he thought Thea was joking to tease him when he heard what she said after that. He retorted, "Don’t be obsessed with me."
"Eww. Put Mr. Wilson on the phone. Let Chantie have her last words with him!"
Thea didn’t know if Daniel and Philip were together. She was dying anyway, and she only remembered that both of them were always together.
Coincidentally, Daniel was next to Philip.
"Where are you?" A familiar voice came from the phone.
Chantelle frowned and felt annoyed. Thea persuaded her, "Chantie, don’t frown. Talk to him. Maybe you won’t be able to see him anymore."
"Where are you?" Daniel raised his voice this time. He could picture Chantelle’s annoyance in his mind.
"I’m busy now. I’ll talk to you later. In about two hours, I’ll contact you again. Give me an hour later." Chantelle hung up the phone after she finished speaking.
Thea gave her a thumbs up for her strong mentality.
Half an hour later, Chantelle parked her car in front of the boutique. Thea got out of the car with weak legs and exclaimed, "It’s good to be alive."
Chantelle cackled and held her up. The suspicions in her heart were even more certain now.
"What’s wrong with you?" Thea was yanked over by someone just as they pushed the door to enter the boutique.
Chantelle looked up and saw that it was Philip.
As soon as they saw each other, they argued. However, the argument was about what was wrong with her liking him. Did he have a problem with it? He said he had no comment, and he liked her too, so what?
Love was in the air.
Chantelle exited the boutique and got back into her car. She intended to go to Calvin and Russell, as they were very close to her. She wanted to know if they were affected by this incident.
She saw Daniel sitting in the driver’s seat, looking at her without any expression.
"I still have two hours before I’m going to contact you. Get out of the car first." Chantelle said casually.
Daniel looked into her eyes, trying to see a trace of jealousy. There was nothing but anxiety and impatience.
In other words, Victoria and Daisy’s sudden appearance did not affect her at all.
He should have been happy since he didn’t need to explain anything to her. Yet, something felt wrong in his heart.
"Mr. Wilson, please get off first." Chantelle waved her hand in front of his eyes.
Daniel didn’t say a word. It was obvious he didn’t want to get out of the car.
"What do you want now?" Chantelle asked as she sat in the car and closed the door. She was wary of her surroundings, worried something would suddenly come out of nowhere.
Daniel pursed his lips. He didn’t know what he wanted to do. He just wanted to look at her and stay with her, doing nothing.
"Mr. Wilson, you saw what happened on the road earlier. Our safety was threatened. So can you please be sensible? The thing we should do now is find out the truth behind it." Chantelle suggested.
Daniel leaned down and fastened her seat belt. He then started the engine. "We will be the bait to lure them out."
Chantelle’s heart skipped a beat. He had also realized it. There was no need for an experiment now. They could find that person directly.
"You have nothing to ask me?" Daniel asked after he drove for a while.
Chantelle was attentively observing the situation outside. She was stunned when she suddenly heard him speak.
He forgot about his discomfort when he saw her confused look.
"Don’t be so nervous. They could know that we are luring them out, and they might not make a move."
Chantelle felt he was right and turned away from the window. She was still observing the surroundings from the corner of her eye.
"What did you ask me just now?"
"Nothing," Daniel shrugged.
Some thoughts suddenly came to Daniel’s mind.
The first person who came into her mind when she wanted to experiment was Thea, not me.
Daniel felt slightly upset that he was behind Thea in her priorities. Maybe because she was with him during the accident that had just happened, she felt there was no need for them to experiment together.
