Chapter 484: Chapter 484: My Wife Is Impressive

After Daniel left Silver Crest Global District, he brought his men to search for the mountain where Shiela had been held.

He did this for Jude, since Shiela was Jude’s girlfriend. At the same time, he felt that this matter might be connected to the so-called accident that kept happening around Chantelle.

"Then do you have any idea who they are?" Chantelle asked.

"Not yet. Don’t worry. I’ll find out soon." Daniel sounded calm, which made Chantelle feel better.

"You’ve reached the mountain?" Chantelle asked when she heard Daniel giving instructions to his men to search the area.

"Yes. The terrain here is rough and hard to walk through. I don’t know how she managed to escape," Daniel said. He almost slipped down the hillside after taking a wrong step. Shiela was a delicate girl, yet she had managed to get away while being chased. Daniel could not tell whether it was luck or something else.

"Focus on finding the tomb. Shiela said they were living underground," Chantelle reminded him.

"You’re not worried about me at all? You just keep telling me to find it," Daniel teased her.

Chantelle replied in a serious voice, "If you feel something is weird, run immediately. Don’t try to be a hero, okay?"

"Mr. Wilson, we found a piece of torn clothing," a bodyguard came up to report.

Daniel ended the call. He smiled as he looked in the direction where the torn clothes were found, then ordered his men to search that area.

More than an hour later, Chantelle brought her people to the place where Shiela had been found. They searched their way up the mountain. It was strange. She could no longer reach Daniel.

Not long ago, she had talked to Daniel on the phone. She had heard a bodyguard’s voice on the other end, reporting that pieces of clothing had been discovered.

With Daniel’s tracking skills, once he found a trace, he would usually locate the tomb by now. The sudden loss of contact made Chantelle suspect that Daniel might have run into the people who kidnapped Shiela and suffered a setback.

The thought made her feel slightly panicked. Just as she reached the halfway point of the mountain, she received a call from an unknown number.

"Ms. Bently, your husband is in our hands. If you don’t want anything to happen to him, follow my instructions and come alone."

"Let him talk," Chantelle said as she answered the call while checking Daniel’s location. Unfortunately, they might have smashed his phone, because she could not find his signal.

The line went silent for a moment. Then she heard Daniel’s voice. "There’s no need for you to come. I can handle this myself."

He was punched as soon as he finished speaking. A muffled grunt followed.

Chantelle frowned when she heard it. "Don’t touch him. I’ll come over."

"Good."

Chantelle turned to the bodyguards who had come with her and said, "Let’s search for them separately. Don’t follow me."

The bodyguards exchanged looks.

Before they left, Calvin had instructed them to protect Chantelle at all costs. They were put in a difficult position, but they did not dare to disobey her.

Chantelle did not give them time to think. She walked straight into the bushes and soon disappeared from their sight.

Even someone as cautious as Daniel had been caught by them. She did not dare to try any tricks, afraid of what they might do to Daniel.

She could see it clearly now. The accidents that happened to the people around her were all planned. Their goal was to force her to come to them on her own.

Chantelle touched the lucky charm hanging around her neck. She silently prayed that Daniel would still be alive by the time she found him.

Half an hour later, Chantelle arrived at the entrance of an ancient tomb. She sensed someone approaching from behind, but she did not resist. She let them knock her out with drugs.

When she woke up, she was not in a dark, damp tomb. She was in a modern room. The furnishings looked like those of a hotel.

"I never thought my wife would love me so much that she would risk her life for me..."

Chantelle heard Daniel’s familiar voice as she slowly came back to her senses. She followed the sound and looked over, but only for a brief moment before turning her head away.

Daniel was in terrible condition. His hands were handcuffed and hung in the air by a rope. His body was covered in blood from the whip marks. His white shirt had been completely stained by blood.

"You were not assaulted, right?"

Chantelle tried to get off the bed.

Thankfully, she was not tied up. She had not been abused.

Daniel’s current state made it look like someone with twisted, perverse tendencies had toyed with him.

"Don’t worry. Your husband is still all yours, inside and out." Daniel smirked. The blood on his forehead ran straight down into his mouth.

Chantelle rushed over and tried to untie the rope around his hands. She was not tall enough. There was nothing in the room she could use to help.

"Don’t worry, my wife. There are two more over there," Daniel said, tilting his head.

Chantelle pulled aside the curtain in the middle of the room. Two men were hanging there, both unconscious. They were Rowan and Oscar.

"They..."

Chantelle’s voice suddenly broke. They did not look alive.

"Don’t worry. They’re still breathing. They want you to choose one of the three of us to live." Daniel licked his dry, cracked lips and explained it to her.

"Damn sick!" Chantelle rushed straight to the door, but it would not open. It did not matter to her. She would blow the door open.

Chantelle took a miniature bomb out of her bracelet and placed it onto the door handle.

"Bang!" A huge hole appeared in the door.

The two bodyguards standing outside trembled in fear and instinctively raised their guns at her.

They had guns. Chantelle’s heart tightened. She could now guess how Daniel had ended up suffering in their hands.

"Go tell your boss. I want to see them," Chantelle said. She was afraid, but she did not show it on her face.

The two bodyguards exchanged a glance. One of them replied. "You must choose one first."

Chantelle did not want to waste time arguing with them. She spotted the hidden camera in the room. She took out a lucky charm, looked straight at the camera, and said, "If I don’t see anyone in two minutes, I’ll drop this. It’s no big deal to me. We’ll die together."

"My wife is impressive," Daniel cheered from the side.
