Chapter 95 - 95: I Must Be Dreaming

Jerry held Kate in his arms while his hands rested lightly on her waist.

Kate instantly knew what he wanted.

With a sly smile, she ran her slender fingers over his tie and pulled him toward the bed.

Jerry fell onto the mattress. Though Kate found him unappealing, she still flashed a seductive smile and winked at him.

Jerry couldn't hold back any longer. He pressed her down and captured her lips in a deep kiss.

"This house is too small. I have a villa in the suburbs. Pack your things and move there."

Satisfied with her performance, Jerry slowly sat up. He pulled out a cigar and lit it.

"Really? I can move back to the villa. That's amazing!" Kate's eyes lit up.

Wrapping her arms around his neck, she kissed him over and over. Excitement rushed through her. She felt like she was on her way back to her former glory.

At the clinic in Silver Crest Global District, Daniel slowly regained consciousness after the blood transfusion.

Daniel caught a glimpse of a familiar face. He wanted to get up and speak, but his body was too weak. The anesthetic was still in effect, pulling him back into sleep.

Three hours later, he woke up again. It was already 5 a.m.

As soon as he opened his eyes, he recognized Philip's clinic.

He forced himself to sit up and looked around. The room was empty.

Was it just a dream?

I must be dreaming. That heartless woman wouldn't stay with me.

"Mr. Wilson, you're awake! I brought you some soup. Do you want some now?"

Ashton walked in carrying a food container. The moment he saw Daniel awake, he rushed over.

Setting the container on the table, he carefully helped Daniel sit up, tending to him cautiously.

"What time is it? How is Chantelle? Is she hurt?"

Daniel's mind flashed back to the night before. They had escaped together, but after that, everything was a blur.

He remembered blacking out. He had no idea what happened next.

"Don't worry, Mr. Wilson. Ms. Chantelle is fine. Dr. Collins took care of her."

Ashton supported Daniel as he walked him to the living room. Then, he went back to grab the food container from the table.

Charles had specially prepared the soup to help Daniel recover his excessive blood loss.

"She was here?" Daniel's eyes lit up.

Did I really see her last night?

"Yes, she was here. She left after making sure you were okay."

"She didn't do anything?"

"Huh? No. Why?"

"Nothing. The soup is too bland. Give it to Philip."

Ashton was speechless.

Daniel had completely lost his appetite.

Seeing Daniel suddenly go quiet, Ashton didn't dare say a word. He quickly took the soup upstairs to give it to Philip.

He had made a promise to Chantelle last night, so he wouldn't break it.

After Ashton left, Daniel couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. Chantelle had been right beside him... he was sure of it.

With that thought, he headed to the security room. He pulled up the surveillance footage from the previous night.

Just as he was about to watch it, a message flashed on the screen: Video cannot be played.

What the...?

Just as Philip was about to go to bed, Daniel called him for breakfast. With no choice but to comply, he showed up with messy hair.

"Daniel, are you feeling better? You good? Great. I'm going back to sleep." Half-asleep, Philip yawned and leaned against the security room door, holding a bowl of soup.

He had taken a few spoonfuls but was still drowsy.

"Philip, is the lab running low on funds?"

"Huh? Are you investing more money?" Philip's eyes lit up the moment he heard the word "money".

"I might consider it if you can tell me why last night's surveillance video is missing!"

"Err..." Philip hesitated, scratching his head.

Seeing Philip's hesitation, Daniel changed his tactic. "I heard about a new data analysis system, but it's expensive and costs at least 3 billion!"

Philip's tone shifted immediately. "Hey, Daniel, no need to check the footage yourself! I can help you!"

He had been eyeing that system for a while, but it was far too expensive. He never thought Daniel would bring it up.

Now, he saw an opportunity.

Philip was excited.

"Sure!" Daniel immediately stood up, letting Philip take over the chair in front of the surveillance system.

A minute later, Philip successfully retrieved the surveillance footage from the night before.

The scene looked familiar; Chantelle was sitting beside him, donating blood.

Chantelle volunteered to give me blood?

For some reason, Daniel felt a surge of emotion rushed through him.

"Ashton!"

"Yes, Mr. Wilson!"

"Take the soup to Ms. Chantelle. Now!"

When Chantelle returned to Western Hill Villa early in the morning, she felt weak. As soon as she went upstairs, she collapsed.

The night before, Kane stayed at the Wilson residence. Since Daniel hadn't been home all day, Kane sneaked out early in the morning and rushed back to Western Hill Villa.

When he entered Chantelle's room, he immediately sensed something was wrong.

Normally, if he kissed her face while she was asleep, she would wake up immediately. But no matter what he did this time, she wouldn't wake up. She was completely unresponsive.

Panic set in for Kane!

Kane quickly pulled out his phone and called Russell.

That was how Chantelle ended up on an IV drip at home.

She had now become a coma patient.

"Uncle Russell, when will Mommy wake up? I'm really worried about her." Kane asked softly, afraid of disturbing her rest.

"Don't worry, Kane. Ms. Chantelle has always been strong. She'll wake up once the IV is finished!"

"Will Mommy be in a lot of pain with that needle in her hand?" Kane's heart ached as he watched his mom. He leaned over and gently blew on the needle site, hoping to ease her discomfort.

Russell couldn't bear to see the boy like this any longer. He quickly came up with an excuse to take Kane downstairs, giving him some space away from Chantelle.

He never expected that the little troublemaker, who usually paid no attention to Ms. Chantelle, had such a soft side. It almost brought him to tears!

"Don't worry, Kane. Ms. Chantelle will be fine with me around. You haven't eaten yet, have you? How about I warm up some chocolate milk for you?"

"I don't feel like eating. I want to drink chocolate milk with Mommy when she wakes up." Kane sat on the sofa, hugging a pillow. His mood was low.
