Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 1002 - 998: What Illness Does Lara Have? Is It Terminal?
After Sophie Foster walked out of Evander Lancaster’s office with the nurse, Nicholas Croft finally spoke, looking at Evander with a serious expression, "Tell me, what’s wrong with Lara, I can handle it."
Evander was amused by Nicholas’s seriousness, and he opened the drawer again to take out the medical case file, pushing it in front of Nicholas, "Actually, it’s not that serious, an ectopic pregnancy. Little Sophie is young, I’m afraid it’ll scare her."
Hearing Evander’s words, Nicholas visibly let out a breath. His long fingers slid the medical report in front of him and he skimmed through it; it was full of medical terms, but he clearly saw the words "ectopic pregnancy" and "surgery."
"When is the best time for surgery?" Nicholas asked, his gaze on Evander still looked heavy.
Evander leaned back lazily in the chair, smiling, "Buddy, don’t stress out too much, it’s just a minor surgery, similar to a D&C," facing Nicholas’s slightly displeased look, Evander could only respond earnestly, "Of course, with this case, the sooner the better. Otherwise, as the baby grows, there is a risk of massive bleeding."
"Alright, I’ll go talk to Lara." Nicholas retracted his gaze and looked at the medical report again, as if making a decision, then suddenly looked up at Evander, "Find the best doctor, ready to operate on Lara at any time."
Evander was somewhat amused by Nicholas’s all-out readiness, laughing, "Buddy, rest assured, if you don’t trust my hospital’s doctors, I’ll personally operate on little Sophie."
"No way!" As soon as Evander finished speaking, Nicholas coldly refused.
Evander...
"Buddy, don’t you trust even me?"
Staring coldly at Evander, Nicholas said, "Assign a female doctor, and also, all anesthesiologists and nurses must be female!"
Evander weakly massaged his forehead, "Buddy, rest assured, if little Sophie comes to my hospital in the future, all arrangements will be made with female staff, ensuring she won’t be exposed."
...
In the temporary ward, Sophie Foster leaned against the hospital bed, a needle in the back of her hand, still insisting on playing a game.
Nicholas Croft pushed open the door and came in, sitting beside her, gently smoothing a strand of hair falling against her forehead, and asked tenderly, "How are you feeling? Feeling any better?"
"Yeah, much better," Sophie pouted with grievance. The recent days had been tough, and her little face had lost its color.
"Uncle, what’s wrong with Lara? Is there a baby?"
"You!" Nicholas seemed helpless, wrapping his long arms around Sophie, feeling distressed thinking about the little one going into the surgery room, "How can you be so careless, don’t you remember if your period came this month?"
Sophie pouted with grievance, murmuring, "Uncle always remembers it for Lara."
With a sigh, Nicholas lowered his gaze to Sophie’s little face and asked, "Would Lara like to have a baby?"
"Does Uncle want one?" Sophie responded while playing her game, and with a sigh, Nicholas said, "Uncle hopes to have a baby with Lara, but Lara is still young, Uncle thinks about waiting until Lara is over twenty to have a baby, is that okay?"
"Hmm, Lara listens to Uncle." Sophie said while playing her game.
Hesitating for a moment, Nicholas said, "Lara, Uncle will tell you now what illness you have."
Sophie suddenly turned, forgetting about her mobile game, looking at Nicholas’s serious expression, instinctively asking, "What illness does Lara have? Is it a terminal illness?"
