Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 1006 - 1002: Hannah Hargrave’s Feelings
Hannah Hargrave’s intentions were obvious to Nicholas Croft. Such a high-profile, award-winning producer usually walks with an air of superiority in the industry, but in front of him, she was shy and bashful.
However, a man of his stature was never short of admirers, and besides, he already had his little sweetheart.
Thinking of Sophie Foster, the lines on Nicholas Croft’s handsome face softened a bit. He nodded slightly, thanked Hannah courteously, but didn’t eat the food she had helped to serve him.
The dinner finally ended close to nine o’clock. Henry Hargrave had his own driver send Nicholas Croft back. When he walked into the hospital room, Sophie Foster was still playing on her phone. He strode to the bedside and sat down, saying helplessly, "Lara, you just had surgery. Why aren’t you resting earlier?"
"I’m waiting for uncle," Sophie Foster put her phone aside, looked up and extended her hand. Nicholas took her small hand, kissed it and said, "Sorry, it’s all uncle’s fault. Wait a moment, and uncle will join you to sleep after a shower."
Initially, Nicholas planned to take Sophie home and have Evander Lancaster come over daily for the IVs, but he worried about unexpected incidents, so staying at the hospital was the only option.
After a quick shower, Nicholas changed into home clothes and lay on the bed, pulling his little sweetheart into his arms. Sophie voluntarily moved closer to him. Despite just having had surgery, this slight movement tugged at her wound, making her gasp. Nicholas hurriedly placed his large hand gently on it, massaging it lightly.
After staying in the hospital for a week, she could finally go home. For the lively Sophie, lying in a hospital bed for a week felt like being grounded.
On the night of discharge, she pestered Nicholas to take her out to play, but he sternly refused. Sophie was not happy about it.
Remembering she hadn’t seen Titus Zane for a while and had forgotten to contact him while hospitalized, she took the initiative to call him several times, only to hear, "Sorry, the number you dialed is no longer in service..."
"Uncle, why can’t I get through to Titus? Did Uncle Mo abuse her again?"
Seeing Sophie’s innocent expression, Nicholas diplomatically replied, "Titus left and went abroad."
"Did he run away from home because he couldn’t stand Uncle Mo’s abuse?"
Nicholas hesitated for a moment and said, "Sort of." In his eyes, Titus always appeared to be a fragile woman, yet he never expected her to resort to such drastic measures.
Sophie sighed, unhappily muttering to herself, "Titus is really something, running away like that without even saying a word to her."
After putting away her phone, Sophie suddenly turned to Nicholas, "Does Uncle Mo know where Titus went? Will he send someone to drag her back and continue tormenting her?"
"You little one, what on earth is going on in that head of yours?" Nicholas chuckled, rubbing Sophie’s head in exasperation. Sophie wrinkled her nose in disapproval and said, "I’m just worried about Titus. I mean, Uncle Mo, really, how can he be so cruel to someone as beautiful as Titus?"
"Alright, let’s not talk about them anymore. I have good news for you, little one!"
"What’s the good news?" Sophie widened her eyes with curiosity as Nicholas absentmindedly played with her hand, saying, "Felix is getting married, at the end of this month."
Hearing that Felix Shaw was getting married, Sophie exaggeratedly opened her mouth wide, "Wow, is it with Mia? That’s fast!"
"If not Mia Foster, then who else would it be?" Nicholas affectionately pinched Sophie’s nose, to which she recoiled, mumbling, "I wonder if Mia can handle that playboy Felix."
