Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 928 - 924: Framed by Elizabeth White
After Felix Shaw sat down in the single-seater sofa, Elizabeth White followed suit and sat across from him. Between them, on the low table, was a bottle of opened wine and two glasses, already poured with red wine. It seemed clear that Felix Shaw intended to keep his distance from her, as the two glasses were placed perfectly at each single-seater sofa.
Elizabeth White picked up the glass of red wine in front of her, gently swirled it and said, "Actually, I didn’t want to do this either. It’s just... I’ve run into some trouble lately and urgently need money, so..."
"Name your price!" Felix Shaw interrupted before Elizabeth could finish, looking at her coldly, clearly unwilling to listen to her ramble.
Elizabeth’s hand paused in its swirling movement, looking dazedly at Felix Shaw. Facing the man’s indifferent eyes, she suddenly smiled.
She put the wine back down, rested her hands on the armrests with a smile and said, "Since Director Shaw’s time is precious, I won’t waste words. Two million, for Director Shaw, should be a drop in the bucket."
Afraid that Felix Shaw might refuse, Elizabeth dared not set the asking price too high. But if it was too low, she worried he would see through her scheme, so she could only quote a price that was neither high nor low. For wealthy people, two million was nothing.
Of course, for her, burdened with gambling debts, it was merely a drop in the ocean.
Staring into Elizabeth’s eyes, Felix Shaw agreed without a second thought, "Where’s the negatives?"
"Well, the thing is..." Elizabeth withdrew her gaze, hands resting on the armrests, seeming troubled. Suddenly, she looked up at Felix Shaw and said, "How about this, Director Shaw, you transfer half the money to me first, and the other half we exchange for the negatives."
Seeing Elizabeth’s stance as if not lying, Felix Shaw agreed easily. He reached into the pocket of his suit, pulled out a cheque, glanced at Elizabeth once, and signed his name with a flourish.
Throwing the cheque in front of Elizabeth, Felix Shaw coldly said, "Can I have it now?"
Watching the cheque slowly drop on the low table, Elizabeth smiled and said, "Of course," and with that, she stood up and walked into another room. Soon, she returned with a USB drive, "Director Shaw, this is what you want."
Taking the USB drive, Felix Shaw leisurely slipped it into the pocket of his suit, then as he adjusted his tie, Elizabeth returned to the other sofa, sat down, and raised a glass, looking at Felix Shaw, her eyes solemn.
"Director Shaw, thank you for the misguided affection you once showed me. This glass is to you!"
Felix Shaw initially didn’t want to accept, but after sitting in the room for a while, he felt strangely thirsty, perhaps due to the air conditioning not being cold enough. Seeing Elizabeth down a glass of red wine, he casually picked up his own and drank.
"Elizabeth, I hope this won’t happen again!" Felix Shaw warned coldly after setting down his glass.
On the opposite side, Elizabeth merely smiled without saying a word.
Felix Shaw stood up, not sure if it was because he moved too quickly or what, he suddenly felt dizzy, the sensation almost causing him to fall.
"Director Shaw, are you alright?" Elizabeth stood up and went over to support Felix’s arm, the latter suddenly looked up at her, his eyes fierce. 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
"Director Shaw, are you feeling unwell? Should I... call your wife?"
Felix Shaw looked up at the concerned face of Elizabeth, her outline in his vision constantly overlapping, a strong heat rushing through his body as all his blood seemed to rapidly surge to one place.
He reached out and pulled the woman into his arms, amid Elizabeth’s gasp, Felix had already pressed her to him and forced a kiss...
