Mr. CEO's Substitute Bride-Chapter 939 - 935: Nightclub Encounter (Big Brother and Sophie Extra)
The Palace of Heaven.
An upscale nightclub, without the tawdry dances and opulent decor of other clubs, and no private rooms or hostesses. Guests coming here for leisure were all treated equally, whether wealthy or ordinary, and were received uniformly with genuine leather seating pods.
Leaning back on the sofa, Nicholas Croft draped one arm over the backrest, slowly swirling a glass of red wine in the other. This leisurely pose made him appear even more relaxed.
In the nightclub, a striking-looking man often catches the attention of women, especially when he seems as approachable as Nicholas Croft. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Many women came up to chat, but Nicholas merely curved his lips into a slight smile, glancing at the women who proactively sat beside him. He neither drove them away nor spoke, just reclined against the backrest with a mocking gaze.
Nicholas’s attire was not flamboyant—an ash-gray shirt and black trousers—yet even so, he exuded a sense of elegance and dignity.
As a mogul in the entertainment industry, beautiful women surrounded him like schools of fish, yet he adhered to his principles, avoiding relationships with women within the industry. Throughout his thirty-something years, he had never even been involved in a scandal with a female celebrity.
On stage, a female Singer was performing. With a naturally raspy voice, she was singing rock music, dressed in a tight-fitting leather outfit and black Martin boots adorned with studs, heavy smoky eye makeup, and bright red lips. Most striking was her long purple hair, which was difficult to accept.
Under the lights, it appeared both dazzling and chaotic, a typical non-mainstream look.
One had to admit, the girl’s voice was quite distinctive, turning a once-familiar song into something uniquely her own.
Being frequently in contact with artists, Nicholas was used to such unconventional appearances.
He lay languidly on the sofa, enjoying his wine as he listened to the girl sing.
At the venue’s entrance, two men dressed in black entered. Once inside, their hawk-like eyes began scanning the surroundings. One stopped abruptly when looking towards the stage, pulling the other aside. Both stared at the stage, their eyes as sharp as their expressions.
At midnight, a time when young people accustomed to the nightlife thrived, the nightclub was bustling, nearly all seats taken.
Standing on stage, as she sang the final chorus, Sophie Foster extended her arms, one long leg keeping time with the music. She watched intently as the two men approached the stage, showing no expression.
The song ended, and after bowing and saying "Thank you" to the front, Sophie calmly headed backstage. After leaving the stage, she used the dim lighting as cover and slipped into the seating pod area.
The two men, seeing Sophie had vanished, quickened their pace, scanning the area with hawk-like eyes and running in the direction she disappeared.
"Excuse me, sorry..." Sophie, stumbling along, focused on avoiding the two men’s sight lines, bumping into several guests in their pods. As the men seemed about to catch up, she quickly sat in a seating pod, hoping to blend in as a guest. To her surprise, as soon as she sat down, an annoyed female voice piped up, "Hey, what’s the meaning of this? Trying to steal my man, are you?"
"I’m sorry, I mistook you for someone else," Sophie quickly apologized with a smile to the woman’s unfriendly questioning, then hastily left the seating pod, and once outside, sprinted away.
