Chapter 946: Chapter 942: Is There Any Fast-Acting Medicine for What I Mentioned?

"Come on, man, no way," Felix Shaw wouldn’t admit it and craned his neck to glance behind Nicholas Croft, disappointed when he saw he was alone. "Man, you’re something else. Why didn’t you bring a few celebrities over? Just us guys is kind of boring."

After Nicholas Croft came in, he casually closed the door. The tall man ambled over, his long legs even more pronounced, and sat down in an empty seat at the card table, smiling, "Hey, Felix, haven’t you been hitting it off with a starlet lately? What? Already moved on?"

Speaking of his "new flame," Felix Shaw tossed his playing cards onto the table with a sigh, saying, "Ugh, don’t mention it. We barely got cozy before she went off to shoot a movie."

Nathan Moore was reclined in his chair, silently smoking a cigarette, completely lost in his own world, not even acknowledging Nicholas Croft’s arrival.

Seeing that Nicholas Croft was wearing a fuzzy evening suit, Evander Lancaster asked casually, "Hey man, why didn’t you go back to change clothes?"

Looking down at his shimmering outfit, Nicholas Croft chuckled, "I was worried you’d all be impatient."

Evander Lancaster picked up a pack of cigarettes, pulled one out, and handed it over. Nicholas Croft took it, tapped the cigarette on the table, and asked, "Alright then, what are we playing?"

"How about we play mahjong all night?" Felix Shaw suggested, having just won a lot while playing cards and wanting to win even more.

"Sure, I’m all alone anyway, nobody’s waiting for me," Nicholas Croft said, placing the cigarette between his lips and undoing the single button on his suit.

Evander Lancaster glanced at Nathan Moore, who was still deep in thought, and with an implied meaning said, "Whatever, I’m single too."

Both the ’big brother’ and the ’fourth brother’ had spoken, but Nathan Moore stayed silent, squinting at some unknown spot deep in thought, not even noticing the cigarette was about to burn his fingers.

"Hey, Nathan," Felix Shaw called out, "Nicholas suggested an all-nighter of mahjong. You’re cool with that, right?"

Nathan Moore snapped back to reality, about to take a drag on his cigarette, only to realize it had almost burned out. He flicked the butt into the ashtray, opened a drawer to flip through his meager stack of chips, and said, "I’m out. I’m tired, and there’s a morning meeting tomorrow."

With that, he tossed his chips onto the table, "Evander, cash these in and treat Nicholas to a late snack."

Having said that, he stood up and headed for the coat rack.

Felix Shaw, notoriously money-hungry, especially at the card table, wouldn’t miss out on a single chip. Hearing Nathan Moore’s words, he quickly gathered the scattered chips in front of him, beamed, and said, "Thanks, Nathan."

"Shameless," Evander Lancaster scoffed, turning up his nose. Nicholas Croft took a drag on his cigarette without comment, glancing over at Nathan Moore.

The latter put on his coat, turned around, and asked Evander Lancaster earnestly, "Evander, about what I mentioned earlier, is there any effective medicine?"

"Nathan, you’re serious about this?"

Evander Lancaster asked, surprised. Nathan Moore, at twenty-seven, was of an age where most would be thrilled about having a kid. Who would willingly choose to give that up?

Nathan Moore said nothing, standing there silently watching Evander Lancaster. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

Understanding Nathan Moore’s personality—once he made up his mind, there was no talking him out of it—Evander Lancaster pulled out a cigarette, perched it between his lips, and said, "Come to my hospital tomorrow if you want the meds. If you’re short on time, I can bring them to you."

"No need. I’ll have my assistant pick them up," Nathan Moore replied without much expression, then nodded slightly at Nicholas Croft, "You guys carry on, I’m heading out."
