Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 424 - 423: Fury
The bodyguard at the door stepped forward and slapped that well-maintained face.
This is the old Grant Residence!
Renee Grant is the eldest daughter of the Grant Family, Ethan Grant’s elder sister.
Ethan Grant gives the order to slap, and the strong slap rings out, making both Madam Grant and Mr. Grant’s faces throb with pain.
"Unfilial son!"
Madam Grant stood up, shouting angrily, her vision blurred as she struggled to breathe, collapsing back onto the sofa.
"Mom!"
"Grandma!"
Mr. Grant and Renee called out in a panic.
Ethan Grant didn’t feel he went too far in infuriating the old lady to the point of fainting. In contrast, he thought he had been too soft over the years, not dealing with them more ruthlessly, which allowed Serena to be bullied.
Today’s visit to the old Grant Residence was not to listen to their nonsense, nor to have dinner, but rather to state firmly that it was only Serena Sullivan he wanted.
No matter what means they use, it was useless; he and Serena will be together for a lifetime.
"Serena, let’s go."
He was about to lead Serena forward when she looked up at him, and Ethan understood her meaning, pausing his steps.
"Mr. Grant! Madam Grant."
Serena turned her head to look at the chaotic group in the reception area, then at Madam Grant on the sofa taking deep breaths, and spoke solemnly, "My family background indeed does not compare to the Sterling family’s young lady."
"I am now crippled in both legs, and perhaps in this life, I won’t have my own children, unworthy of your Grant family heir!
"
Ethan Grant disagreed with her words, placing his hand on Serena’s shoulder.
The one unworthy of Serena is him!
"However!"
Serena’s tone shifted, "I am worthy of Ethan Grant!"
"Hmph!"
Renee Grant responded, "A..."
She wanted to insult Serena again, but Ethan’s glance reminded her of the sting on her face, making her dare not continue.
"Furthermore, whoever the Grant family heir wants to be with, none of you can stop it now!"
Serena smiled, making Madam Grant’s breathing even heavier.
This girl had a sharp tongue, indirectly belittling them, indeed so unrefined.
"He is not a tool or chess piece in your hands, to help you achieve what you want."
"If you really want it, go and fight for it yourself!"
Serena stared at Renee, speaking coldly.
Knowing Renee’s hypocrisy and selfishness, Serena knew that if she continued, no good end would come.
No, even if she realizes her mistakes now, she will still lose the most important things.
"Let’s go."
After Serena finished speaking, she left the Grant family’s hall with Ethan.
As they left, the sky was getting dark, but the streetlamps at the old Grant Residence were lit, making it almost as bright as daytime.
"Do you like it here?"
seeing Serena turn her head to look around.
The old Grant Residence is a manor; this is just a part of it, larger in area than the entire Willow Yarrow and four or five times bigger than the Sullivan Residence.
"I don’t like it,"
Serena replied; places too large make her feel insecure.
Besides, when would she ever have the time to stay here for long?
"We can move here,"
Ethan added, if they moved in, they would ask Madam Grant and the others to leave.
Though they are his family and elders, if they insist on making things difficult for Serena, he won’t acknowledge them.
If they really moved in, he would have to remodel this place entirely, the stairs would have to go, and he would hire more servants to take care of Serena.
He had a thought, they should go abroad for Serena’s treatment, there is a chance she might recover.
"Ethan Grant,"
Serena thought of something and asked, "Did you just say we’re getting our marriage certificate tomorrow?"
