Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 464 - 463: His Biological Daughter
Hearing what Ethan Grant said, Carter Lockwood was startled.
He and Julian Ford had been searching for Serena Sullivan’s whereabouts, so they did not know why she left Solaria.
Now, hearing Ethan say this, it became clear.
Serena was afraid, unwilling to be a burden to Ethan Grant any longer.
"Ethan, she will be fine."
After finishing the call with Carter, Ethan Grant, standing by the window, pursed his lips and smiled, "Serena, you are my everything!"
Without Serena, everything he had done in the past four years had lost its meaning, and his future life would not be happy, nor would he know why he was living.
To him, Serena was his heart. Without the heart, the person is gone too.
Solaria is a coastal area, separated by a four or five-hour distance, there is a sea. There are islands on these seas.
There are quite a few islands, some developed into tourist industries, and others bought by wealthy individuals as private estates.
The Sterling Family owns a small island here, which they don’t frequently visit, except for Mr. Sterling, who stays here for about half a month each year.
Mr. Sterling arrived at the Imperial Capital, then took a car back to the island. Going back and forth, when he arrived on the island, it was already seven in the morning the next day.
The gate slowly opened, and the car drove into the villa on the island.
The servant came out to open the door for Mr. Sterling.
"How is she?"
Mr. Sterling asked immediately after getting out of the car.
"Sir, she’s sleeping in the room."
The servant replied, following Mr. Sterling upstairs. In the middle of the stairs, Mr. Sterling stopped and asked her, "When will the doctor arrive?"
"I want to see them before eight."
The servant nodded, puzzled, watching Mr. Sterling head towards the upstairs room.
After the villa on the island was built, Mr. Sterling had only accompanied the old master here once.
Yesterday, they received a call saying guests were coming, and they were not to tell anyone.
They thought it was some guests, but when they arrived, they discovered it was a girl who had lost the use of her legs.
She was beautiful, but her face was very pale, and she was too thin, looking very frail.
As servants, they dared not ask too much, following Mr. Sterling’s instructions to take good care of the girl and wait for the doctor.
Mr. Sterling hurried to the room door. He hadn’t slept all night, fearing that Mrs. Sterling or Ethan Grant might have tracked him. He changed planes at the Imperial Capital and switched cars several times before getting here.
He was very tired!
But after arriving on the island, worry gave him energy. Now at the door, gripping the doorknob, he dared not open the door and enter.
He hesitated for a moment, mustering the courage to push the door open.
The room’s curtains were drawn, dimly lit. The light from the hallway spilled in, allowing Mr. Sterling to see Serena Sullivan sleeping on the bed.
He gently turned on the bedside lamp, the light revealing the girl’s face to his eyes.
He gazed down at the sleeping person, a pang of pain in his heart.
She didn’t seem to be sleeping, giving him a feeling that she was in a coma and couldn’t wake up.
"Serena!"
Mr. Sterling called out softly.
The person on the bed did not respond, her breath so light it felt nonexistent, prompting him to reach out and check beneath her nose.
Receiving her call, she asked for his help. Without thinking, he refused.
He did not want to get involved with Serena Sullivan.
But when she said she didn’t have much time left to live! That deeply hidden string within him completely snapped.
"Serena!"
His voice was deep, urgently calling out again.
The girl lying here, on the verge of losing her breath, was his daughter, his biological daughter!
