Chapter 496: Chapter 495: Darling

After Mr. Sterling and the couple left, the old Sterling walked into the inner room.

By the window, Serena Sullivan sat there staring at the scenery outside.

The old Sterling saw the broken glass beside the wheelchair and sighed lightly. He walked over and stood behind Serena, looking out where Mr. and Mrs. Sterling and their child were slowly walking away.

"All these years, I’ve never known what he’s thinking!"

The old Sterling spoke calmly, referring to Mr. Sterling.

Back then, he insisted on marrying Claire Sullivan, and the events that followed caught everyone off guard. Shortly after, he said he wanted to marry June Kane.

The old Sterling weighed in his heart who would bring more benefits to The Sterling Family!

However, he objected more strongly to June Kane.

"He’s not as indifferent to you as he seems."

The old Sterling continued.

"Hmm!"

Serena responded lightly. She turned around and looked at the old Sterling, saying, "Tomorrow I want to go out to meet a friend."

Apparently, Serena didn’t believe the kind words the old Sterling said about Mr. Sterling.

Sometimes what you see and hear may not be real, but what you feel with your heart is genuine.

If he really wanted this daughter, he wouldn’t have ignored her for over twenty years.

On The Sterling Family’s island, he wouldn’t have disregarded her life or death.

"Alright."

The old Sterling agreed, "In three days, there will be a banquet for you at The Sterling Family."

This is the old residence, where Mr. Sterling lives.

James Sterling recognized his daughter’s identity and took her to Mr. Sterling’s home, which others saw as The Sterling Family giving importance to the young lady, intending to use Mr. Sterling’s authority to legitimize her.

However, the old Sterling did so because of Mr. Sterling and Serena’s father-daughter relationship.

"Okay!"

Serena responded indifferently, turning her head to look out the window again, where the figure of Mr. Sterling’s family of three had already disappeared.

The next day, Serena arranged a meeting place and time with Finn Chandler, and the old Sterling asked Butler Lowell to send a car to take her.

The car drove directly to the inner residence to pick up Serena. After she left, the old Sterling called Wyatt Sterling.

Yesterday, Mr. Sterling mentioned that Wyatt was negotiating with Ethan Grant.

Old Sterling had heard this name, Ethan Grant, for many years.

Initially because of Serena, and then because of Felicity Sterling.

"Wyatt."

The old Sterling cut straight to the point, "I want to meet Ethan Grant."

Wyatt said he was meeting Ethan Grant later, and afterward, he’d ask whether Ethan would be willing to come.

The old Sterling hung up the phone and asked Butler Lowell to prepare tea while waiting for Ethan Grant to arrive.

He wanted to see what kind of person Ethan Grant was; someone who could make Serena fall for him and catch the eye of The Ford Family’s granddaughter.

If he wasn’t good enough, he’d send him straight back to Solaria.

Finn Chandler sat restlessly in the booth waiting, the phone on the table rang, and she took a deep breath, smiled, and went to the window to answer.

"Honey!"

Serena pushed the door open and entered, and before greeting Finn, she saw Finn anxiously picking up the phone, with her back facing Serena.

The word "Honey" startled Serena, making her wonder if the person dressed in a suit in the booth was her good friend—Finn Chandler.

Her voice was gentle, with a smile on her lips; Serena had never seen this side of Finn.

"I miss you too."

"Wait for my return, and don’t look at other girls!"

Finn chuckled while chatting with Julian Ford on the phone. Initially, these sweet words were found on Baidu, and whether it was due to reading them too much or other reasons, she spoke them smoothly now.
