Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure-Chapter 519 - 518: I Hold Grudges
First Mrs. Sterling chose some clothes for Serena Sullivan at a different mall.
Serena watched as First Mrs. Sterling swiftly settled the bill and instructed the staff to send the items to Deepwood, recalling how First Mrs. Sterling protected her earlier.
It was like when she was little, a group of bullies knew she didn’t have a dad and threw stones at her at school, breaking her forehead and causing her much pain.
Claire Sullivan hurried to the school’s infirmary and argued with the bullies’ parents.
Her fierce demeanor did not match the fashionable and stylish Claire Sullivan, something Serena had never seen before.
Nonetheless, Serena always remembered this incident.
"Serena, I need to head to the restaurant."
It’s ten thirty now, approaching the restaurant’s peak hours.
"Alright," Serena responded. She planned to leave with First Mrs. Sterling when her phone buzzed with a message from Finn Chandler.
"Mom, a friend is coming over."
First Mrs. Sterling was reluctant to leave them alone and didn’t agree.
"She’ll be here soon; I’ll wait in the lobby downstairs."
The mall’s lobby was crowded, with many surveillance cameras, making it the safest spot.
First Mrs. Sterling could see that Serena didn’t want to leave, so she nodded. She reached out to pat Serena’s hair, "Call me if something comes up, take care of yourself."
"Okay!"
Serena replied, assuring she would protect herself.
After First Mrs. Sterling left, Serena messaged Finn Chandler, informing him she’d be waiting here.
Sitting in the lobby, Serena attracted the attention of passersby because of her wheelchair.
Being different always turns one into a focal point.
Having faced death once, Serena no longer cared about strange stares.
Someone had been observing Serena for a long time, and noticing she was waiting for someone, approached to greet her.
"Miss Sullivan."
A gentle voice reached her, and Serena turned around to see Felicity Sterling behind her, somewhat surprised.
She thought Felicity had returned with Miss Kane.
Had she followed her?
Serena found it hard to believe it was such a coincidence.
"Is there something you want to tell me?"
Felicity was considering how to speak to Serena, but was surprised when Serena straightforwardly addressed the topic.
"Could we move to the café nearby?" Felicity suggested, pointing to the open café due to the surrounding crowd.
Serena didn’t know much about Felicity, whom she considered somewhat like a sister.
Last time at a mall in Solaria, she deliberately bought all the clothes, subtly mocking Serena for dining late, and today she brought Miss Kane along, trying to drive her away as revenge.
Now, she wanted to talk, not forcefully wheeling Serena away, but quietly waiting for Serena’s reply.
"Sure," Serena nodded.
After learning about her background, Serena paid more attention to Felicity, for she was favored by Simon Sterling.
Felicity wheeled Serena into the café and ordered lemonade for Serena, while she got a piece of cake for herself.
Serena wasn’t particularly fond of sweets, but Felicity loved them.
"I apologize for earlier!"
After tasting the sweet cake, Felicity apologized to Serena.
Her eyes locked onto Serena’s, appearing very sincere.
"I was out shopping with Jade and happened to run into you and Aunt at the mall."
Felicity’s honesty surprised Serena slightly.
"Last time in Solaria, you had Ethan Grant drive me out of the mall, and I held a grudge."
Felicity’s candid admission prompted Serena to observe her closely.
