Mr. Warner, Your Wife is Running Away Again!-Chapter 771: You Are a Pair of Deeply Loving Lovers
Jasmine Lucas’s argument was truly captivating to him.
But he felt that such words were no different from self-deception.
Moreover, Jasmine’s background and intentions were unclear. After all, she previously attempted to help Vanessa Sterling escape, which forced Miles Sterling to wonder if this business card was also a trap she had set.
Miles Sterling placed the card back into his coat pocket, not planning to use it unless absolutely necessary.
"Sir, should we head back? Madam has been looking for you several times."
Miles Sterling absentmindedly responded with an "Mm," as he lowered his head and took out his phone, opening the surveillance app, where he could see Vanessa Sterling’s every move.
However, no matter how long he stared at the screen, Vanessa Sterling just lay motionless on the bed. If not for the time ticking in the upper right corner and a caregiver moving nearby, anyone would think it was a still photograph.
The situation had developed to this point, and Miles Sterling didn’t quite know how to wrap it up.
Now, he only hoped that Vanessa Sterling would recover soon.
Vanessa Sterling was the same as she was in the hospital, only now lying in a different bed.
A servant brought over the lunch carefully arranged by a nutritionist and stood by the bed persuading Vanessa Sterling, who refused to eat: "Miss, please eat a little, these foods have high nutritional value, you need to eat well to get better soon."
Vanessa Sterling seemed not to hear the person next to her, tilting her head and staring blankly at the sunny sky outside the floor-to-ceiling window.
The servant persuaded for quite some time, and as the food was about to turn cold, she reluctantly went outside to inform the doctor of the situation.
In no time, the private doctor came in.
The doctor was a relatively kind-looking middle-aged woman, who had previously checked on Vanessa Sterling when she was in the hospital.
The doctor sat on the edge of the bed, softly speaking to herself, "Child, your body is your own. No matter what happens, don’t do anything to sorry yourself."
Vanessa Sterling still did not react, as if she had completely isolated herself from the outside world.
The doctor sighed and said, "You know the young master’s temper well; going against him will only make you suffer. You experienced how uncomfortable it was with the gastric tube in the hospital, right? If you persist in not eating, the young master might order us to insert a tube again."
Vanessa Sterling only blinked lightly, without any emotion in her eyes, as if silently expressing that her weak life could be tossed around by them, and that death would be a relief.
The doctor tried her best, but couldn’t persuade Vanessa Sterling.
In the end, she reported the situation to Miles Sterling and ultimately chose to use the feeding tube, supplemented with daily nutritional fluids.
After sustaining with this method for three days, Miles Sterling came to the villa again to visit Vanessa Sterling.
Actually, he had been aware of Vanessa Sterling’s condition every day through the surveillance, but he was at his wit’s end, unsure of what to do to change the current situation.
"Sir, this isn’t a long-term solution. Without untangling the young lady’s psychological knot, her health will only worsen. Forget about recovery, she might not make it much longer."
Miles Sterling sat on the sofa with a solemn face, not responding, and just took a deep drag from the cigarette in his hand.
The doctor sighed, saying, "Her leg muscles are showing signs of atrophy. Even with daily massages, it can’t compare to her exercising on her own."
After a moment of silence, Miles Sterling finished the rest of his cigarette and tossed the butt into the ashtray on the coffee table, his voice slightly hoarse as he said, "I’ll find a psychologist to assist with your treatment."
The doctor nodded, "That would be for the best."
Miles Sterling: "If there’s nothing else, go about your business."
The doctor responded and stood up to leave.
Miles Sterling was left alone in the living room, once again taking out that business card.
He stared at the card for a long while, as if dazed, thinking, or hesitating about something.
Finally, he dialed the number on the card with his phone.
"Hello." The call was quickly connected, and a knowledgeable and charming female voice came through the line.
Miles Sterling paused for a moment, politely asking, "Is this Miss Bianca Jennings?"
"Yes, you’re Miles Sterling, right?"
Miles Sterling was a bit surprised that the other party directly mentioned his name.
Bianca Jennings added lightly, "Miss Lucas told me about you. I’m rather surprised it took you this long to call me."
Miles Sterling clearly wasn’t in the mood for small talk. Upon hearing that Bianca Jennings was already informed of the situation by Jasmine Lucas, he directly asked, "When can you come?"
Bianca Jennings answered calmly, "Whenever you need."
Miles Sterling: "I’ll send you the address."
...
Early the next morning, Bianca Jennings arrived at the seaside villa to meet with Miles Sterling.
This woman was much younger than Miles Sterling had imagined, appearing to be under thirty, with long wavy hair and wearing silver metal-framed glasses, looking particularly professional and reliable.
Miles Sterling was now somewhat desperate, willing to believe that Bianca Jennings’s appearance could truly bring a change in his and Vanessa Sterling’s relationship, as Jasmine Lucas had claimed.
Upon seeing Miles Sterling, Bianca Jennings’s first greeting was: "You’re Miles Sterling, right? You look more human than I imagined."
Though Bianca Jennings said this with a smile and a polite tone, Miles Sterling was no fool; he naturally understood that it wasn’t meant as a compliment.
Already not looking very good, his expression worsened, and he asked bluntly, "What did that woman tell you? How much do you know about my situation?" 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Bianca Jennings replied indirectly, "Mr. Sterling seems to be in a hurry."
Miles Sterling remained silent.
Bianca Jennings continued, "Psychological treatment requires time and patience because mental trauma doesn’t form overnight, and healing isn’t achieved in a day or two. So you just need to prepare the treatment fees, and when I need your cooperation, I will let you know what to do."
Upon hearing this, Miles Sterling couldn’t help but wonder if this woman and Jasmine Lucas were colluding as con artists just after his money?
Miles Sterling thought for a moment and asked, "What kind of results can your treatment achieve?"
Bianca Jennings smiled slightly, her gaze under the lenses turning a bit mischievous as she leaned closer to Miles Sterling, responding, "Did Miss Lucas never tell you? I can make that girl forget what you want her to forget, remember what you want her to remember, even if it’s a fictional event that never happened, like... you’re a pair of deeply loving partners."
