  Chapter 11 Calf’s Two Birthdays (Part 1)

The content of the sketch that Xu Yun saw was very simple, but the information it revealed was also obvious:

Xiao Niu has already become curious about gravity.

In terms of nature, this is undoubtedly a milestone 'painting'.

It's just that for Xu Yun, who is acting as Apple, the feeling in his heart is a little subtle.

Of course.

Although Newton had a vague premonition in his heart at this time, he still had a long way to go before fully deriving the law of universal gravitation.

Readers who are not mad at the physics teacher should know such a concept:

There is a difference between gravity and gravitation.

Gravity is the force that objects receive due to the attraction of the earth, and universal gravitation refers to the tendency of objects to accelerate and approach each other.

And the direction of gravity is always vertically downward, not necessarily pointing to the center of the earth—only at the equator and the poles pointing to the center of the earth, but the direction of universal gravitation is pointing to the center of the earth.

As far as the ground is concerned.

The gravity on an object is a component of the gravitational force between the object and the earth, and the other component of the gravitational force is used to provide the centripetal force required by the object to rotate with the earth.

Therefore, the acceleration of gravity is the largest at the poles and the smallest at the equator.

Because of this, the derivation process of universal gravitation needs to use three concepts:

One is Kepler's three laws, the other is the flow number technique deduced by Maverick himself, and the third is Hooke's elliptical orbit.

   Exactly.

It was not Maverick who first judged the hypothetical experiment of the gravitational object on the earth, but Hooker who later fell in love with Lao Niu.

This hypothetical experiment is actually quite simple:

If an object is thrown flat on a tall tower, assuming the earth can penetrate it without resistance, what should be the final trajectory of the object.

Xiao Niu suggested that the trajectory of an object should be a spiral line, and it will eventually stay at the center of the earth.

Lord Hooke believed that a flat parabolic object would not lose any energy, and should go around the earth in an elliptical orbit and return to its original place.

Of course.

Hooker intuitively stated the elliptical orbit, but he did not derive it—he only deduced the inverse square law with Huygens, which is based on treating the planetary orbit from an ellipse to a circle.

So students who failed in this aspect in high school should stop scolding Lao Niu and scold Hook.

But Mr. Niu is a dog. Facing Hu Ke's opinion, he expressed his acceptance in his heart, but he didn't show it.

Then I secretly calculated by myself.

At that time, Mavericks had already deduced the flow number technique, so with the splicing of the last piece of the puzzle, the universal gravitation was just like this, or he was finally deduced by him.

Therefore, the derivation process of universal gravitation is not as simple as an apple smashing it, unless Xu Yun lists a bunch of derivation processes such as =dA/dt at the moment, otherwise simply implying "why I am falling down" Such words don't make any sense.

But if you want to let the Mavericks watch your derivation quietly without any friendship, it is absolutely impossible:

Just five months before Mavericks returned home, a girl from Trinity College wanted to ask Mavericks for advice. Because she wasted some time, the girl was directly splashed with ink by Mavericks.

This incident was recorded in the files of Trinity College. By the way, there are more than a dozen similar files of Xiao Niu, which can be said to be persistent.

So it’s still the same sentence, Mr. Niu’s academic status is like Mount Everest, and his character is like the Mariana Trench.

The task Xu Yun received was to become friends with Mavericks. In terms of difficulty, it was actually not much lower than deriving the law of universal gravitation.

Besides, according to the urine nature of that aperture, Xu Yun doubts whether he can successfully write out the entire derivation process without loss—things like traveling through time and space have appeared, and the big silence technique is nothing at all.

So it’s still the same sentence, everything must be considered in the long run.

Then Xu Yun looked away from the manuscript and landed on a metal pedestal.

The main body of the metal pedestal is a cross, about thirty centimeters high, and the base is suspected to be made of copper, with a number engraved on it:

  1642.12.25.

  12.25, which is Christmas.

When Xu Yun saw this number, a flash of light flashed in his mind, but he still asked knowingly:

   "Mr. Newton, what is this"

Maverick reached out and touched the top of the cross, and said calmly:

"As you can see, it's my birthday."

Maverick’s answer was a bit casual, like a local introducing to a guest, ‘That’s the flower I planted last year’, without expecting any feedback from the other party.

But to his surprise, Xu Yun's face showed a hint of surprise:

   "12.25th? Isn't that Christmas?

It turns out that Mr. Exa and **** have the same birthday? "

Then he pointed to the "Holy Bible" on the desk that knocked him out, and said with a smile:

"Mr. Newton, in my distant eastern homeland, people like you are generally regarded as the lucky ones who have been blessed.

Maybe in a few years, you will be worshiped in a certain field like that one. "

Hearing Xu Yun's words, Xiao Niu was stunned for a moment, and then a trace of excitement appeared on his face, and his tone trembled a little:

"Lucky? Fat fish, is what you said true?"

Xu Yun nodded with certainty, and explained:

"Of course it is true, this kind of lucky person sometimes has a nickname called 'this child'

They may have many fates when they were young, such as being divorced, bullied, betrayed, and even rejected by their parents.

But as long as the right time comes, they will soar into the sky, and finally shine like stars, so terrifying! "

Hearing these words, Newton's eyes lit up:

At the beginning, he thought that Xu Yun might be flattering himself, but when the latter paragraph was finished, he was sure that what Xu Yun said was true!

Because apart from the divorce, everything else happened in Mavericks' childhood!

And he can be sure that he and Xu Yun have no intersection before, and the other party has neither the ability nor the need to inquire about his past - he is an ordinary college student with a bad temper and no popularity, who would inquire about himself?

So there is only one possibility:

I am the kind of person Xu Yun said!

Of course.

Newton would make this judgment not because he was put on a halo of intellect, but because it involved a secret that he never revealed and was only mentioned in a letter to Formissa in 1719:

He is a senior secondary school student, and until his death he believed that he was a chosen person who was given a sacred mission.

The germination of all this must begin with the birthday of the calf—in the calendar of later generations, two birthdays that are assigned to different nodes.

Note:

I asked a friend to inquire about it today, and unexpectedly learned that Newton’s scanned manuscripts can be found on the Internet at the Bodleian Library of Oxford University. There are more than 170 manuscripts in total, so I downloaded them all first.

When you read this chapter, I was still downloading, and the wall was very slow, 23kb per second
