Multiversal Ascension-Chapter 103: Hidden Title
Chapter 103 - 103: Hidden Title
Ignoring these thoughts, he took a seat as the teacher gave a brief introduction before distributing the exam papers.
1: Which of the following two arrays would produce a small light?
Diagram A:
Diagram B:
Two seconds after reading the question, he quickly circled Diagram A.
2: To create a fire-element attacking array, what is the minimum number of nodes required?
A: 15
B: 10
C: 12
D: There isn't a minimum number—it depends on the array master's proficiency.
He immediately selected D before moving on to the next questions, answering them swiftly.
It didn't take him long to complete the entire exam with ease. Once finished, he walked to the front of the class, handed his paper to the instructor, and returned to his seat.
At that moment, irritation crept in. He found the rule utterly stupid—despite finishing early, he still had to sit there for another 45 minutes until the rest of the class was done before he could leave...
With nothing better to do, he pulled out his phone to pass the time. Predictably, the news was once again filled with reports of beast waves, town destruction, and the kingdom's response. He barely spared it a glance, already used to seeing these topics constantly.
Instead, he opened YouTube and browsed through videos until the 'agonizing' 45 minutes finally passed, signaling the end of the exam. Without wasting a second, he left the classroom, heading toward his next test—duel class. This one clearly wouldn't be a written exam.
As he crossed an open space filled with greenery, making his way toward the duel class training grounds, a strange noise suddenly reached his ears.
"ZZZRAK"
He looked up in the direction of the sound. At that moment, he witnessed a bizarre scene. In the sky, where the usual blue should be, a small crack had formed!
It was as if the sky had been torn apart, but due to its minuscule size, a normal human wouldn't have been able to notice it.
"What is this?" he murmured to himself. Seconds passed, and he watched as the crack in the sky slowly but surely expanded, growing larger before his eyes.

"...Fuck!" Mikael cursed as the System message appeared before him. He was momentarily stunned, his mind processing the words. But as their meaning sank in, as the true danger of his situation became clear, his face turned pale.
His pulse quickened, his breathing grew shallow, and beads of sweat rolled down his forehead. His eyes snapped back to the sky, where the crack was still expanding...
[Time left: 4:37... 4:36]
'Tier 3... That means stronger than even the Principal, who is only Peak Tier 2... Fuck!' he cursed internally, his breath catching in his throat. His eyes darted around, searching for an escape, but there was none. The only thing in sight was the ever-expanding crack—like a countdown to his doom.
'Shit... shit, shit, shit! This wasn't supposed to happen. Space is locked down—now I'm fucked! Think, Mikael, think! I need to find a solution.' He forced the thought through his panicked mind, but no matter how much he tried to focus, his pulse pounded in his ears, drowning out all rationality.
His hands were slick with sweat, his fists clenched so tightly his nails dug into his palms. His body screamed at him to run, but there was nowhere to go. The countdown in his vision continued ticking down mercilessly.
[Time left: 3:58... 3:57...]
Seeing the time trickling away, he forced himself to calm down. He shut his eyes and took a deep breath before reopening them. While anxiety still burned in his gaze, a colder, more calculating logic had taken precedence.
His mind raced—not with panic this time, but with strategy. He shoved aside the unease gnawing at his gut, focusing only on the facts. The crack was expanding. The invasion was inevitable. Time was running out.
[Time left: 3:27]
At that moment, a plan took shape in his mind. Wasting no time, he acted immediately, knowing that every second counted in this race against the inevitable.
His first priority: find Amelia and Lyra. If everything was about to go to hell, he needed to be with them—to protect them if necessary.
Without hesitation, he activated his bracelet and called the two of them. Logically, they should still be available.Their exam while different had the same timeframe which means that even if they had been in a separate test, it should have finished moments ago, meaning the next one wouldn't have started yet.
"Ring... ring... ring..."
The distinct sound of the call echoed in the air as Mikael anxiously waited, the seconds stretching unbearably long as he hoped—no, needed—the girls to answer.
"Yes," he let out a small sound as he saw Lyra take the call.
"Mikael?" Lyra inquired, confusion evident in her voice. She didn't understand why he was calling her just minutes before one of her midterm exams.
She received no response as silence stretched between them. Mikael anxiously looked at his bracelet, hoping—praying—that Amelia would answer as well.
A few agonizing seconds passed before another click signaled a second connection.
"Yes, what is it?" Amelia's sharp and composed voice came through.
Relief washed over Mikael, evident on his face. He had no time to search for them across the Academy's vast grounds. Every second mattered. The crack in the sky above was an ominous, silent countdown to the world's end.
"Okay, girls, listen carefully. This is extremely important!" he declared, his tone grave.
Lyra, who had been about to speak again after Mikael ignored her first response, remained silent upon hearing the seriousness in his voice.
"I don't have time to explain in detail. Time is extremely limited, but the world is fucked! Drop everything you're doing and get to the mansion at your fastest speed! We have a little more than three minutes!" His voice was urgent, almost frantic.
"Mikael, what the hell are you talking about?" Amelia asked, disbelief lacing her usually calm tone.
"There's no time! Just believe me and move!"
Silence followed his almost desperate plea before Lyra's voice broke through.
"Okay, I'm coming."
A sigh. Then Amelia's reluctant but firm response.
"I don't understand, but I'm coming too."
Hearing their affirmation, Mikael felt a wave of relief. He didn't have time to explain. The fact that they understood the urgency in his voice and acted without hesitation saved precious seconds.
"Use aura and mana to move! Every second counts!" he urged.
They didn't respond with words, but he could hear their sharp breaths and the wind cutting around them as they rushed toward the mansion at high speed.
Without wasting another moment, Mikael coated himself in aura, completely disregarding the Academy's rules about using mana and aura outside designated areas.
Weightless Wind-Explosive Style.
The next moment, he vanished from his position, moving at a speed that made the sound barrier seem sluggish. In just two seconds, he was at the front door of his mansion.
[Time left: 2:14]
He anxiously waited, each second ticking down like a hammer striking an anvil.
[Time left: 1:31]
Amelia arrived, her entire form coated in aura. She skidded to a stop in front of him, immediately demanding, "What is happening?"
Mikael simply pointed upward without a word, his gaze fixed on the horizon, hoping—almost desperate—to see Lyra appear.
A sharp gasp escaped Amelia as she looked up and saw the now-massive crack in the sky. A deep red hue bled from it, staining the surrounding sky. The usual blue was being consumed, replaced by an ominous, eerie crimson.
"What the hell...?" she muttered, unable to tear her gaze away.
Mikael exhaled sharply. "It seems this was the Obsidian Covenant's goal all along. Those large-scale, controlled beast wave attacks over the past few weeks? They were sacrifices preparing for this."
Amelia's gaze remained locked on the sky, a hint of horror creeping into her green eyes.
"They successfully summoned demonic entities from Nexoria," Mikael said grimly. "This world is fucked... and so are we. At least for the next twenty-four hours, when we will be able to escape from this world. Until then, if we want to survive, we need to get as far away from civilization as possible."
Amelia's breath hitched, her hands clenching into fists. "W-what do you mean the world is f-fucked?" she stammered, struggling to process his words. "And running away for twenty-four hours? I don't get it! If the world is in danger, then shouldn't we do something? I won't just run like a coward—I want to fight!" Her voice wavered at first, but the hesitation quickly gave way to determination.
Mikael sighed, ready to respond, but before he could, Lyra arrived.
[Time left: 0:53]
"What is happening?" she asked, her brows furrowed in confusion.
Mikael didn't give her a chance to say another word. Urgency sharpened his tone as he cut in.
"There are only fifty seconds left. I don't have time to explain, but we need to get out of here—now!"
"But—" Amelia started.
"NOW!" Mikael's voice was sharp, edged with frustration. There was no time for discussion, no room for debate.
Following Mikael's outburst, the two girls exchanged a brief glance before obeying without another word. The trio, with Shadow silently following them, moved at a high speed through the city.
But no matter how fast they were, they weren't quick enough to escape before the countdown reached zero.
[Time left: 0:00]
At that moment, an extremely loud Crack! resounded through the air. Looking up, they saw that the sky was completely different from just five minutes ago. The usual blue had been replaced by a bloody red stretching as far as the eye could see, exuding an oppressive aura.
But that was only the most normal change. Far more unsettling were the numerous cracks of varying sizes that had appeared in the sky. Their presence made it seem as if the sky was shattering, allowing an insidious force to seep into the world.

And in a sense, that was exactly what was happening. From the cracks, countless red-hued entities were pouring through, descending toward the ground. These entities came in all shapes and forms—some were humanoid enough, while others barely resembled anything human. One had four arms, three legs, a bull's head, and two writhing tentacles sprouting from its back.
But it didn't stop there. Among them were beast-like creatures, while others possessed eldritch features—twisting masses of tentacles and grotesque, shifting shapes. They all had one thing in common: they were varying shades of red.
And that wasn't all. No, far from it. Accompanying these invaders was a thick, crimson smoke that drifted downward, swirling like a corruptive force eager to infect the world itself.
Faced with this apocalyptic sight, all three of them paled, horror rooting them in place as their gazes remained locked onto the sky.
