Mummy Evolution-Chapter 71: Ally
In the Kemet Tomb.
In a silent, rich-people-only restaurant, Sett, his companions, and Gold began to dine.
"So, Gold, what information do you have for us?" Sett asked, digging into his food. "Did you find something out about the Pharaoh, perhaps about one of the nine Guardians of this Tomb?"
Gold took a deep breath.
So Sett already believed that this place was a Tomb!
"So, indeed, we are inside a Tomb?" Gold asked without answering.
Sett raised his fork. "Indeed, and it is no ordinary Tomb. It is at least B-rank, potentially A-rank."
"But… that doesn't make any sense!" Gold said in disbelief. "How did we all end up in this Tomb out of nowhere? Did the entire City of Burrhen just get sucked in?"
Sett shrugged.
"Maybe we were just unlucky," he said.
When he absorbed the City of Burrhen, the people outside had been sucked in with incredible power and with chaos rapt at that point, it was reasonable that Gold did not notice how he ended up here. Of course, Sett was not going to explain that it was all his fault.
Of course, if anyone knew about it—they were Zainah and Zarah. They had seen it, they knew it, and they were stunned by it. Sett hadn't kept it much of a secret to them, either. So, seeing him act so nonchalantly, Zainah had the urge to punch his pretty face.
The bastard had eaten the entire city, after all.
She really was romancing with bad company.
Ptew. Ptew. Who is romancing with him?
Zarah had the urge to laugh.
Meanwhile, far from such sunny thoughts, Gold was nervously looking at his own plate of food. "What else do you know about this Tomb?" he asked.
Sett shook his head.
"It's just me talking, give me valuable information in return."
Gold nodded. "As I should." Then, he spoke: "This world has no Axioms. Even the royal family and the Pharaoh are just Tomb Raiders, not Axiom Holders. They are currently incredibly wary of people like us who have Axioms."
Sett squinted.
According to true history, Axioms only appeared in the world after Gods appeared and bore children with the Ramses Family. But if things went the way they were going, the royal family of this world would make Axiom holders do that.
It wouldn't matter if Axiom Holders were men or women, they would be captured and would become breeding pigs for royalty.
Then, there would be no reason for Gods to come and sleep with mortals.
That means things are wildly going against history.
But of course, that was not going to happen.
After all, Tomb natives were just a figment of time, how could they have children with people from the real world?
"What is the current Pharaoh's name?" Sett asked.
"I don't know too much," Gold said. "I just happened to interrogate a guard. So the things I say might not all be true."
The source of this c𝓸ntent is frёeweɓηovel.coɱ.
Sett nodded. "Just say what you know."
It was not as if Sett would take the man's word for truth anyway.
"The Pharaoh is an old man in his twilight years, named Psamtik the Third. He has been ruling the empire for the last three years."
Sett nodded.
He had been figuring out all of that detail himself, but he had gone much slower and more carefully than Gold had.
So, he was slower.
Of course, Sett also had interesting information but he didn't plan to share them.
"How about the Pharaoh's strength as a Tomb Raider, is he Tier 5?"
There wouldn't be any Tier 5 forces in A-tier Tombs—unless they were guardians or invaders. If the Pharaoh was a Tier 5 existence, Sett could come to the conclusion that he was indeed one of the 9 Guardians of this Tomb.
Gold shook his head.
"I am not sure of the validity, but from what I heard, the strongest human Tomb Raider—the Pharaoh—is just a Tier 3 being."
Sett's frown deepened. "Then the Pharaoh is also a minor figure in this Tomb, he is not one of the Guardians."
A-tier Tombs would have Tier 4 Guardians at the very least.
With a small chance of having Tier 5 Guardians.
"Minor figure, that guy?" Gold chuckled. "Heh, I would say not. He has significant power. For one, he has 3 sons, and each of them are Tier 3s. Not to mention the fact that he has a bunch of subordinates—two being at Tier 3."
"Same shit." Sett bit his nails. "If my guess is correct, this city will soon experience a great slaughter."
Gold's expression changed. "Great slaughter?"
"Do you know that Tombs are worlds that truly existed at one point?" Sett smirked, looking at the girls.
They were listening carefully, and hearing him, they shook their heads dumbly.
Cute.
"I know that," Gold said. "And if my guess is right, this Tomb should be a historical figment of our own world. Usually, the Tombs pull us into the history of other worlds, so this is also a rare chance for us to learn Ehyut's true history."
Sett smirked. "You are quite sharp. But did you know that only the dead deserve Tombs?"
Only if a mass slaughter happened will a Tomb be created based on that timeline. And Sett explained that to the three ignorants beside him.
Acting like a mentor made him remember a particular person, and it made him feel restless, so he stopped talking.
The three ignorants absorbed the knowledge.
"What do you think will bring slaughter in this place?" Zarah asked.
She didn't really care about the Tomb's natives, nor did she think of them as true humans. Not after she understood that they were just figments of people who once existed. So, she didn't really care about the slaughter.
Sett pondered the question. "We need to understand that to truly understand the fate of this Tomb. Only then can we start strategizing a way to victory."
Gold gulped down the food before him.
"I think I know what might have caused such a wide scale slaughter."
Sett gauged the man, blinking.
He had long used the system to see through the man's abilities, but some abilities were truly hidden.
Did this guy really know the cause?
Sett licked his lips.
