Musou Knight: Crow of Cinders-Chapter 49: Bravo Six, Going Dark
Chapter 49 - Bravo Six, Going Dark
Slavus and Bickar were kind. They provided me and Lenitia with a horse. Lia had her own dragon horse, so she equipped her horse with a stirrup. With a stirrup, my ride this time was more comfortable. We individually rode out of the fortress together while Slavus’s elite unit escorted us on foot.
Once we departed from Garuda Stand, our route took us over the Rascit Bridge. One thousand Avaritia infantry under Slavus joined our ranks, and an unwelcome individual approached.
Cash Fraus, the crown prince of Avaritia, was in his gold uniform. Like the mages in fantasy stories, he possessed a wooden staff.
He was among the first playable characters, yet his story was dedicated to the re-establishment of the collapsing Avaritia Kingdom. His father would soon die, and his uncle, Zoli Diripio, wanted Cash dead. Cash was destined to briefly team up with Louis Zen.
Although he was currently a level 2 earth knight, his special talents were something to be jealous of. The mofo could turn objects into gold with his musou ultimate. Because of that, he was also extremely deadly in combat. One touch, and the opponent was dead. Fortunately, his ult was not an AOE skill. I could steer clear of Midas’s Touch if I was mindful of his hands.
Cash Fraus excelled not in fighting, but in his management abilities and his talent for generating wealth. War funds and supplies were never an issue for the Cash Fraus players, as they possessed infinite wealth.
"Are we done here?" Cash asked Slavus, who was leading the troops and us.
"Yes, Your Highness. We’ll abandon this place and head straight to Frogine Fortress. We might regroup with Sir Bickar’s unit on the way."
"Good," Cash turned to me. "And these people are? Wait..."
I thought he recognized me and the women. He had been on the watchtower when we spied on them the other day.
"I remember you."
Call me the prophet.
Cash rode closer and took off his helmet, revealing his face.
Unlike other villains, he was a fine-looking man with red hair. He seemed to be in his early thirties, even though he was merely eighteen. His build was average, like an adult who didn’t work out.
Cash sized me up and sneered.
"Hey, brat. I heard you were born lucky. Finish up with the Avaritia, then come work for me. I have money and unlimited gold!"
"I’ll think about it."
"Think this through, you idiot. Infinite gold, not just gold coins! I can turn everything in the land into gold!"
I sighed. "Yes, yes. I’ll consider it very hard, Your Highness."
"Good!"
Cash puffed his chest. I bet this idiot was so proud of himself that I answered positively.
Now, here was a question. Would he attempt to seduce Lenitia like in the story? They were supposed to meet at Frogine Castle after Troturre’s coup and cause an incident.
Cash noticed Lia and Lenitia, who were in their casual clothes. He grinned widely as I expected.
"Hello, ladies. Would you be interested in a private chat along the way?"
Lia’s expression turned ugly. As for Lenitia, she smirked.
"I’m engaged. You shouldn’t be talking to me casually, sir," Lenitia answered and brought her horse closer to mine.
Lia raised an eyebrow and copied Lenitia. She brought her horse to sandwich me, riding in a single column formation. After a cough, Lia introduced themselves.
"I’m also engaged, Your Highness. Please excuse us."
Cash frowned. "With whom?! Him?!"
Lenitia kicked my leg and glared at me. I sighed and earned my keep.
"Your Highness, this is my fiancés. To be precise, Her Highness Lenitia Constantia is my fiancée, and the lady to my side over here... is my concubine."
I was embarrassed. Who would have thought that I would be involved in this soap opera with these silicone women.
I glanced at Bickar. As I thought, his shoulders were trembling. This mofo was holding back his laughter. As for Slavus, this old brute cackled and wheezed like a maniac.
Cash glared at me. Finally, he showed his annoying trait.
This bozo was greedy, whether it be women, material wealth, or power. He desired everything, and he wanted everything under his palms.
Cash wanted to be the king.
He snorted at my face and clicked his tongue.
"Two flowers in hands. Good for you. I hope you can enjoy them while you can."
Very sarcastic and petty for a helpless refugee. He probably wanted me dead so he could take Lia and Lenitia.
I laughed it off and ignored him. We stopped talking from that moment on.
.
Because we were a large company, we only managed to cover ten kilometers. The troops set a camp before sunset.
Thankfully, Lia and Lenitia had resupplied their cloth tents. They erected a dome tent, and they invited me in. I accepted with glee.
As I stepped into the tent, the women had already prepared their foldable cotton cushions as their beds. Lenitia glanced at me and scoffed.
"Remember, fiancé in-name. We’re not really engaged."
"I know. Heh." I shook my head.
Lia waved her hand. "Come here, Supreme General. You sleep next to me."
At a time like this, I was glad I had succumbed to my horniness. However, I doubted we could go to battle tonight.
Lenitia looked at us, but her face turned redder every second. She sighed and turned her back, but we noticed her glancing our way.
"Perverts!" Lenitia yelled.
Lia and I held back our laughter.
Since it wasn’t time to sleep yet, we had a small meeting just for us since we couldn’t do it after the Troturre incident.
I took my time retelling the events after Troturre raided my room. I told them everything, including how I survived and how I killed the traitor. While we were recounting the story, Lia brought me an empty flower vase.
I covered it with clothes and smashed it to the ground. Three seconds later, a set of three dumplings emerged before us. I grabbed it and distributed our dinner.
"Crow, what about wine?" Lia nudged me.
I rolled my eyes. "I can’t pick what will come out. The object has to be something big or valuable, such as a large water jar or a tall vase." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"How about wooden crates? We can ask the men to craft us some makeshift wooden chests."
"That will raise suspicions. We don’t want that lecherous prince on your tail, right?"
"...Yeah, I guess so."
"Just endure this for a few days. When we’re in the open, just eat jerkies or our rations. Only when we’re alone, we summon food from broken jars."
The women nodded in agreement.
Lia and Lenitia continued their chats for another hour while I sat there, working as a scarecrow and warding off random soldiers passing by our tent.
Roughly 8 PM, Lenitia yawned and hit the bed. We blew out the lanterns and entered our beds.
However, Lia was a bit needy. Since Lia and I were in the same bed and we were covered in the same blanket, a battle ensued.
Bravo Six, going dark.
