Chapter 69 - Crown Prince or Clown Prince

The young man brought his two women to his sofa under his arms. He crossed his legs and grinned, gazing at the stage. The way his bob-cut hair, sharp nose, and thick lips were arranged made him look strangely unattractive compared to the other good-looking men in the hall. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

The spoiled dude looked at me, Lia, and Lenitia. He sneered while he fondled his women.

"You people are dull. Instead of bringing bodyguards, why not a little fun?"

I didn’t pay him enough attention yesterday, so I didn’t remember him flaunting his douchbag trait. I only recalled that he won two duels against fellow royal class students and was tied to the two.

Two other students in question were also seated at the two tables to the right of the clown’s. They gave the hoodlum a disgusted look as though they were unsatisfied with the arrangement, yet nobody protested.

"Isn’t that the crown prince Minze? He doesn’t look like he deserves to be here."

"Is this how royals are supposed to behave?"

"General Xess isn’t here. Had he been here, he would have punished the prince."

Even more scornful gossips echoed behind me. Since I had nothing to do with the local politics, I commented nothing.

But Lia leaned closer and whispered. "Who is that?"

I sighed and warned her. "Don’t speak in public. The others might recognize your female voice."

Lia’s voice changed, becoming as coarse as batman’s. "How about this?"

"Awesome. You’d make a good voice actor."

"What’s that?"

"Nothing. Anyway, that clown is the crown prince of Invidia, Minze Dong. Don’t get involved."

Lenitia also leaned closer to me to join the conversation. She mimicked Lia’s hoarse voice.

"I thought Invidia’s princes were in their 30s. What happened?"

I revealed the lore that I had learned from the game. "Perhaps Zoli’s assassins murdered them before the war. Think about it. What could prompt a weaker nation to abruptly declare war on a much more powerful neighbor? How much preparation must Zoli have done to declare war and seize the throne in such a short time? How much force did Zoli amass to take down Constantia and kill your father?"

"..."

I lowered my voice further. "Zoli is resourceful. We managed to catch a glimpse of him that day because he was so horny that he wanted you on his bed. If things had been different, he would have found a hiding place to manage everything remotely. Anyway, this is just a theory... a game’s theory."

"...A game’s theory?"

"Never mind that. Anyway. Let’s say that Zoli is the prime suspect of the princes’ death, and Prince Minz has already been bought. Expect more chaos to brew from within Invidia. Keep your eyes peeled."

The women gulped and nodded. Still, Lenitia’s curious nature caught me off-guard.

"How do you know all this?"

I froze for a moment.

"Maybe, I’m a sage in disguise?"

Lia chuckled. "I believe you, supreme general."

Lenitia shot a glare at Lia. "Shut it, you pervert!"

"Hehehe."

The two women giggled in a hushed voice. I hoped nobody could identify them.

I looked over my shoulder. No one was looking at them but the other elite students, fortunately.

Not long after the elite group had arrived, Paul Xess and Sylveria Zen showed up. I heard the bitch had gone to war though. Why was she still around?

Sylveria was still blindfolded, but I assumed she had already noticed my presence. She revealed a faint smile on her face as she stood on the auditorium stage.

Meanwhile, Paul set up ten short pedestals. On top of each beam was a small chest.

Paul faced the crowd and explained.

"We will now explain the curriculum and the rules of this academy! Those who did their homework should already know, but some lazy losers still need explanation!"

Paul opened a chest, revealing four pearl-like medicine balls. I remembered it well as it looked the same as an item, which permanently boosted the player’s musou gauge value by 10.

"Every month, we shall distribute these chests to the students who held the elite pins! Each pin can be exchanged for one chest! The owners of these musou enhancement pills may consume or distribute them as they see fit."

All eyes fell upon me and the other nine elite students as everybody had one elite class pin on their shirt or jacket. They caught on to the academy’s competitive scheme.

Sylveria continued after Paul. "To obtain the pin, you may challenge the owner in a wager duel and put your student pins at stake! Only those who hold 10 ordinary pins may challenge those with one elite pin! Theft, extortion, and deceitful plots are prohibited! If I discover that anybody is relying on underhanded tricks unworthy of knighthood to get the pins, the culprits shall be punished by having their musou cores destroyed! Even if you’re the crown prince, there will be no exception!"

Minz’s expression turned solemn. He leaned forward and protested Sylveria with a loud voice.

"By whose authority? And what are you going to do about it if I order my knights to kill everybody here and get all the treasures? Run crying and tell my dying father?"

Sylveria smirked as she snapped her fingers. The table, snacks, and tea cups before Minz collapsed as if an unseen hydraulic press had flattened them. A faint figure of a white flame knight manifested for a second before it vanished.

That white flame knight was one of Sylveria’s personal bodyguards. She had a collection of flame knights, who could transformed into white flame and became invisible to naked eyes. As for their strength, all of them were level 6.

"By the authority of might, your highness." Sylveria laughed. "If you continue to violate the academy’s sacred rules, even your father cannot stop me from murdering you."

"...If you kill me, the country is finished!"

Sylveria’s laughter echoed throughout the auditorium. Paul’s expression grimaced as he turned to the prince.

"No. According to the constitution established by your father, if no suitable candidate is found to inherit the throne, the supreme general in charge of the army will be the next king! The nation will not fall because we kill some idiot who has no qualification of a king!"

The words shocked the knights and the students in the hall. That was an indirect declaration that Louis Zen would take over the country at any time by killing Minz and uprooting the last royal bloodline.

If only I had some popcorn, but cookies on the table were suffice. I couldn’t stop snacking while watching the unfolding drama.

Yes. Let’s go.

Kill each other.
