My Accidental Harem-Chapter 202
Chapter 202: Chapter 202
The sales assistant returned with a shoe box, took out one heel, and handed it to Mia. She slipped it on, looked satisfied, and then put on the other. She stood up, twirled around, and asked Kevin, "How do I look?"
Kevin gazed at Mia’s feet in the elegant heels. Her fair feet looked exquisite, exuding an air of sophistication. If her sneakers and jeans made her look youthful, the heels accentuated her legs, making them appear longer and straighter. Her posture improved, highlighting her confident and regal demeanor, like a queen surveying her subjects. He was mesmerized and blurted out, "Beautiful, absolutely beautiful."
At that moment, he felt words were inadequate. No adjective could capture Mia’s captivating aura. Any man would bow before her, seeking her favor. Kevin looked at his school uniform and felt unworthy of her, realizing for the first time how different they were.
Mia tried a few more pairs but decided on the initial white lace heels. As the sales assistant went to prepare the bill, Mia saw Kevin standing idly and beckoned him to sit beside her. She smiled and asked, "Do you know how much these shoes cost?"
Kevin shook his head. He knew very little about high heels but guessed they weren’t cheap, given the luxurious store. His sneakers cost only a few dozen dollars so he estimated the heels might be over a hundred dollars.
Mia pointed to her shoes and smiled, "The cheapest pair here costs around $300 to $400. These are new arrivals, so they are over $500. My monthly salary is over $8,000, and I still have to buy clothes and cosmetics. I also want to buy a nice house someday. Do you think you can afford to support me? And what about Mrs. Cortez? Her husband is unreliable, and she supports the family and their son’s education. Can you help her?"
Kevin blushed deeply, feeling ashamed. He lowered his head and said, "Mrs. Wilson, I understand. I’m so useless."
He realized the vast gap between him and Mia. His previous thoughts seemed naive. Whether with Camila or Mia, or other women and girls he’d been with, he had never spent a dime, yet he enjoyed their body.
He mocked Quentin Rodriguez for aiming too high, but at least Quentin had a job, income, and a car, which placed him in a decent position. Even when having an affair with Vanessa Wood, Quentin spent money on her. Kevin, on the other hand, had taken advantage of Vanessa without giving anything in return and had even mocked her behind her back.
"Mrs. Wilson, what’re you doing?"
Kevin was totally thrown off by Mia’s kiss. Just a minute ago, she was mocking him for being a bad student and looking down on him. Now, she kissed him. It felt like Mia was pushing him to the edge of a mental breakdown.
Mia’s face turned a bit red. She hadn’t planned on kissing him, but if Camila found out she’d definitely give her a hard time for being so tough on Kevin. After all, Kevin was still just a kid and didn’t need to face life’s harsh realities so soon. Seeing that Kevin had stopped crying, Mia sighed and said, "Kevin, I know my words were harsh, but I just wanted you to understand that liking someone isn’t just about saying it; it’s about action. You’re a student, and studying is your main job. Both I and Mrs. Cortez are your teachers, and Mrs. Cortez is your homeroom teacher. If you let other things mess with your studies, both she and I would feel like we’ve failed you. Only when you do well in your studies will we be truly happy for you. Do you get it?"
Kevin got it. Camila had told him this many times before, but he always forgot soon after. However, Mia’s words hit him hard. Seeing Mia’s bright eyes, Kevin realized that her harsh words were meant to push him, not put him down. He pulled himself together, though the sting of her words lingered because they were true.
Seeing Kevin deep in thought, Mia continued, "Kevin, you’re still young, and you’ll meet many girls in the future. If one day you meet someone you truly like, wouldn’t you want to give her beautiful dresses? If you don’t study hard now and fail to get into college, how will you earn enough to buy her a nice pair of high heels? You’re smart, and both Mrs. Cortez and I believe that if you work hard, you can get into a good college. When that happens, you can be thankful."
"Mia Wilson, I understand. Thank you." Kevin suddenly stood up and bowed deeply to Mia. He had always seen her as a beautiful woman who stirred his desires, but now he genuinely respected her as a teacher.
"Oh, sit down." Mia blushed, pulling Kevin back to his seat. "There’s no need to bow. Just remember what I said. Both Mrs. Cortez and I will be watching your progress."
Just then, the sales assistant returned with the receipt, smiling. "Ma’am, your shoes are $499 after the discount. You can pay at the cashier."
Mia stood up, took out $500 from her bag, and handed it to Kevin. "Go pay for me. I want to walk around in the shoes a bit more."
Kevin took the money and receipt to the cashier. The line was long, and in front of him stood a voluptuous woman in a red spaghetti-strap dress. Her round, full hips and legs in flesh-colored stockings were highly alluring, making Kevin excited. Suddenly, the woman dropped her receipt and bent down to pick it up, her hips lifting high, revealing the outline of her full mound through the dress. Kevin’s excitement was obvious, and someone behind him, who didn’t see any of this, accidentally pushed Kevin forward.
Kevin stumbled, his excitement pressing into the woman’s butt. The woman gasped and stood up, glaring at Kevin. He was about to explain but froze when he recognized her. The mature, beautiful woman with expressive eyes and delicate features was none other than Mike Adams’ mother, Evelyn.
Evelyn also recognized Kevin and, after a moment of surprise, smiled warmly. "Kevin, what are you doing here? Shopping?"
Kevin, embarrassed, replied, "Yeah, I’m here shopping with my cousin. She bought a pair of shoes, and I’m here to pay."
"Oh! Where’s your cousin?" Evelyn looked around nervously.
"She asked me to pay while she continued shopping." Kevin explained and then curiously asked, "Mrs. Williams, what are you doing here? Isn’t Mike home?"
"Oh, Mike went to his aunt’s for lunch. I was bored, so I decided to come out for a bit," Evelyn said with a sigh, then smiled at Kevin. "Kevin, come over this weekend. I’ll cook something delicious for you."
Seeing Evelyn’s charming smile, Kevin knew she wanted to have sex again. He nodded in agreement.
Soon, the person in front of Evelyn finished, and she handed her receipt to the cashier. Then she took Kevin’s receipt and handed it over as well. "Please add this one to the bill."
"Mrs. Williams, no," Kevin protested, trying to take back the receipt. "I can pay with my cousin’s money."
"Don’t be silly. Save it for yourself," Evelyn said, holding his arm gently. "You and Mike are good friends. A pair of shoes is nothing. Don’t argue with me." "Mrs. Williams, really, let me pay," Kevin insisted, blushing. The shoes cost nearly $500, a significant amount. He couldn’t accept Evelyn’s generosity, especially since Mia had bought them. If Mia found out, she would be furious.
"Why are you so stubborn? Do you see me as an outsider?" Evelyn’s eyes welled up with tears. "If you think I’m a trouble, just tell me. I won’t bother you anymore."
Seeing Evelyn cry, Kevin panicked. If Mia saw this, it would be a disaster. He quickly grabbed her hand. "Mrs. Williams, please don’t cry. I’ll do as you say. Just don’t cry. If anyone thinks I’m harassing you, what will I do?" "You silly boy, always talking nonsense." Evelyn Allen said, her tears turning into laughter as she wiped her eyes. "Who calls themselves a thug? The cops are cracking down on thugs right now, so don’t say that."
Recently, some thugs at the supermarket harassed Daisy, and Detective Captain Mark Martin reported it to the police chief. The chief broke into a cold sweat when he heard his daughter had almost been assaulted in broad daylight. If word got out, the police department would be a laughingstock. Furious, he called an emergency meeting to launch a special operation to crack down on hooligans. All police stations were ordered to investigate all suspicious individuals in their areas within a week and firmly combat any criminal gangs harassing women. Soon, a lot of small-time thugs were arrested, and many with connections went into hiding. The social atmosphere quickly improved, and the public was thrilled. Kevin and Mia noticed that the usual creeps lurking around the supermarket were nowhere to be found.
After paying, Evelyn said she wanted to meet Kevin’s cousin, but Kevin awkwardly replied, "I’m not sure. You don’t know her, right?"
"I would know her after I meet her," Evelyn insisted, pulling Kevin along to find Mia.
Kevin had no choice but to follow Evelyn back to the shoe counter, hoping that Mia hadn’t recognized Evelyn from the other day when her hair and attention were focused on him. If Mia hadn’t recognized Evelyn, she wouldn’t have asked about who she was afterward. He would have to play it by ear.
However, Mia wasn’t at the shoe counter. Kevin checked a few nearby counters but couldn’t find her. Relieved, he told Evelyn, "Maybe she went downstairs. How about I go look for her while you keep shopping?"
