My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively-Chapter 160: It Doesn’t Hurt at All
His serious demeanor at the moment was no less than when he was working, and in his deliberately gentle actions, Summer Shawcross saw a trace of caution.
Thinking about it, her heart couldn’t help but warm up, and her eyes inexplicably started to feel a little sore.
She had grown up pampered by everyone in The Shawcross Family. When she was a child, if she got a mosquito bite, she’d go to her dad to whine, and he would gently disinfect and apply medicine for her.
But ever since The Shawcross Family went bankrupt, she gradually got used to transitioning from a pampered princess to just an ordinary person, with small bumps and bruises being a common occurrence, and she no longer cared about them.
Because she knew... no one would treat her like her father did again.
Although her brother, Sean Shawcross, was very good to her, he wouldn’t spoil her like their dad.
She never imagined that there would be a second person in the world who would fuss over her like this.
Yet, she had done so many things in the past that upset him, and had even tried multiple times to escape from his grasp...
...
After Noah Drexler finished disinfecting Summer Shawcross, he was just about to continue applying medicine when he noticed something was off with her.
Turning his gaze to her face at that moment, he couldn’t help but furrow his brow.
"Does it hurt?"
He had tried to be as gentle as possible, yet he hadn’t expected to still hurt her.
"No, it doesn’t hurt at all." Summer Shawcross smiled, her big eyes curving into bright crescents with her smile...
Noah Drexler stared at her for two seconds, then resumed applying the medicine.
After finishing, the redness on Summer’s leg had faded a bit. She looked at her leg, feeling a bit amazed.
"You go to sleep first, I have a few things to handle." Noah Drexler tossed the ointment back into the medicine box and suddenly said to her.
With that, he got up from the sofa and prepared to head to the study.
Summer Shawcross was startled, quickly reaching out to grab his arm.
"It’s so late, you should get some rest..." she said softly.
Though she didn’t want to admit it, without him there, her sleep wasn’t as peaceful, often filled with dreams she hated, causing her to wake up startled.
Noah Drexler froze in his movements, his handsome face softened at the sight of her expression at that moment...
She looked up at him, her expression just right, so much so that after staring at her face for just a second, his heart softened uncontrollably.
A few seconds later, he furrowed his brow and glanced at her.
"Not going? Weren’t you going to rest?"
After speaking, he turned around and walked towards the bed.
Seeing this, Summer’s face lit up with surprise, quickly getting off the sofa, slipping on her slippers, and dashed after him.
Noah Drexler walked swiftly to the bed, lifted the covers, and lay down, turning off the main light in the room, leaving just a small bedside lamp.
However, he hadn’t settled in when the petite figure followed onto the bed, lifting the covers but not settling in quietly. Instead, she snuggled over to his side, nestled into his arms, and showed a contented expression.
Her actions caused Noah Drexler to freeze for a moment, glancing down at the little woman who had naturally nestled into his embrace.
"It’s raining today, I’m a bit cold..." Summer Shawcross looked up, giving a forced laugh, casually finding an excuse for herself.
Cold?
Her words made him appear slightly puzzled, but he didn’t say anything. Instead, he raised his hand and turned off the bedside lamp.
