My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively-Chapter 221: She Actually Guessed It Too
"That bitch spilled all my brother’s secrets, and now the police have teamed up with international forces to capture him." Wendy Linden’s cheerful voice came from the phone.
"Well, that’s good. Congratulations." Summer Shawcross also breathed a sigh of relief.
Her countless black marks from childhood were finally safe!
Now that the Lin family issue was resolved, the woman who knew many of her childhood embarrassments shouldn’t threaten her again!
As Summer Shawcross spoke, Sean Morgan had already walked over with a medical kit. Seeing this, she instinctively wanted to find an excuse to hang up, but Wendy’s puzzled voice came from the phone once more.
"You know, for the past few days I’ve been observing the sky at night but can’t see anything. Am I really that dumb?"
Summer’s lip twitched slightly. It seemed Wendy was now completely convinced that she was some kind of fortune teller.
"Probably, so you should just give up." She pursed her lips and replied dismissively.
She didn’t want Wendy pestering her every day, asking her to teach fortune-telling!
"Alright, if that’s the case, there’s nothing I can do. Summer Shawcross, can you help me read my fortune again?"
"No!" Here we go again, Summer was speechless. Just as she was about to end the call, Wendy’s worried voice arose again.
"I’m begging you, can you help me see when I’ll find true love?"
Summer paused, her face showing a hint of awkwardness. Was she really expecting a love prediction from her? She truly thought she was a fortune teller?
"Uh... maybe... next month." She hesitated for a moment before continuing.
"Really, Summer Shawcross, I knew your prediction would be accurate!" Wendy’s ecstatic voice came from the phone.
Summer shook her head helplessly and ended the call.
"Madam, here’s the medical kit." Sean Morgan handed the kit to her as he approached.
Summer nodded and took the kit.
"Right, about Noah Drexler’s chain..." She remembered the wound on Noah’s hand and couldn’t help but think of the iron chain locked on his hand.
"The boss locked it himself." Sean paused for a moment before answering.
As he mentioned this, his face bore a hint of helplessness.
The virus relapse was fierce, and the boss almost couldn’t control it, so he could only use an iron chain to restrain himself.
Hearing this, Summer fell silent. She had guessed it.
But thinking about how he treated his body like it was made of iron, her heart felt a bit sour.
"Where’s the key..."
Hearing Summer’s question, Sean realized and quickly fished out a small bronze key from his suit pocket, handing it over to Summer, while softly reminding her.
"But the boss said not to open it."
"I’ll handle it." Summer accepted the key, smiled at Sean, then turned with the medical kit and headed upstairs.
When she returned to the bedroom, the dim space was still and quiet, with only Noah Drexler’s steady breathing audible.
Seeing this, she sighed in relief, gently closed the door, and sat carefully beside him with the medical kit.
She picked up her phone, turned on the screen, and under its faint light, began to check the wounds on his wrist.
