My Aloof Husband, Mr. Drexler, Dotes Me Excessively-Chapter 239: Was This What You Got Up Early For?
Thinking about it, Summer Shawcross couldn’t help but wave her hand, signaling the bodyguards to leave.
"Forget it, all of you just stand aside, I’ll do it myself!"
Upon hearing this, the bodyguards seemed relieved, quickly letting go of the zongzi leaves in their hands and stepping away from her as fast as they could.
Summer Shawcross shrugged, then continued to lower her head and wrap the zongzi in her hands, her expression serious and focused.
Her slender fingers moved skillfully, and in no time, she had wrapped a small, beautiful zongzi that, when placed on the table, looked completely different from the messy pile of zongzi she had made earlier.
Seeing this, several bodyguards not far away were astonished.
"Boss, when did Madam become so virtuous?" one of the bodyguards slyly poked his head out and asked Sean Morgan, who was standing nearby.
In the past, Madam would always get them involved in various escapades, either exhausting them by searching for people all over the place or frequently changing furniture. If she argued with the boss, she’d shoot them a few glares and throw things at them; she was utterly unreasonable when angry.
But now, the woman sitting quietly in the living room wrapping zongzi was gentle and virtuous, like a fairy...
Within just a few months, they couldn’t exactly point out what had changed about Madam, but she definitely felt different, more comforting.
Hearing the bodyguard’s question, Sean Morgan couldn’t help but get a bit lost in thought.
Just as he was about to say something, a sudden sound of footsteps came from the direction of the stairs.
Noah Drexler, who had just gotten out of bed, was striding toward the first floor.
Before even getting downstairs, his gaze fell on the woman in an apron busily wrapping zongzi.
He frowned, wondering if she got up so early just for this.
Stopping at the foot of the stairs, he glanced at the group of bodyguards standing at the door, watching Summer. His handsome face showed a hint of displeasure.
He raised his hand, making a gesture for everyone to step aside.
The bodyguards were taken aback but immediately understood, quickly leaving the area.
...
Summer Shawcross was engrossed in her task, not noticing the changes around her, continuing to wrap zongzi diligently.
The man didn’t disturb her, standing quietly beside her, watching her work with a doting expression in his eyes.
Not long after, Summer Shawcross completed another satisfying zongzi and then noticed how quiet it had become around her.
Instinctively, she turned her head and saw the man in a white shirt standing nearby, watching her.
"Noah Drexler?" She was startled; when did he get here, and why was he so silent?
Seeing her reaction, Noah Drexler finally withdrew his gaze and walked over with large strides, glancing at her sticky hands covered in glutinous rice, and then frowned.
"If you want to eat, just tell Sean Morgan, and someone will bring it," he said.
If she wanted to eat zongzi, all she needed to do was say the word, and Sean Morgan would arrange for them to be delivered. There was no need to get up so early and work so hard.
"It’s Dragon Boat Festival today; making them yourself is more fitting," Summer Shawcross said dismissively, curling her lips.
Hearing her words, Noah Drexler refrained from saying anything else but looked down at the zongzi she had made, picking one up and examining it closely.
Just then, her gentle voice sounded again.
"I remember the housekeeper saying that you quite like pure glutinous rice zongzi."
Upon hearing this, Noah Drexler’s hand holding the zongzi froze, and the expression on his handsome face paused briefly.
