Chapter 277: Chapter 277: Leaving? Why Leave

Since childhood, she never liked being controlled. How could she possibly be happy with this kind of surveillance in her life?

Sean’s words made Summer Shawcross pause, reminding her of her past self. She used to hate being constrained and having her freedom limited.

But now... Noah Drexler had a group of people following her everywhere. Though she didn’t particularly like the feeling, she wasn’t as upset about it as she had imagined.

Thinking about it, she sighed softly and then continued speaking.

"I used to be so willful, thinking that freedom was the most important thing in the world. But now I realize, as long as you all are safely by my side, I’m happy." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

As long as her brother and Noah Drexler could stay well by her side, nothing else seemed quite as important anymore.

Her words caused Sean’s expression to subtly change, tinged with a trace of surprise.

After a long silence, Sean turned to glance at the scenery outside the car window, then suddenly asked her.

"Summer, have you ever thought about leaving Narsus City?"

"Leave? Why leave, for a vacation?" His question made Summer Shawcross pause.

"Nothing, just asking casually." Sean smiled, his face returning to its usual gentle expression, then drove away.

...

The car eventually arrived at a familiar street, stopping in front of Sean’s detective agency.

Once the car was parked, Sean pushed open the car door, got out, and opened the trunk to take out the items inside.

Seeing this, Summer Shawcross also got out of the car and followed him.

"Let me help!" She saw the large and small bags in Sean’s hands, reaching out to help carry the items, but was gently refused by Sean.

"The keys are in my pocket, you go open the door."

Hearing this, Summer nodded, then reached into Sean’s coat pocket to take out the keys, turned, and opened the door to the detective agency.

The detective agency had two floors, with the first floor as the office space and the second floor as Sean’s personal small apartment. Besides a combined studio and bedroom, it had a separate bathroom and kitchen.

Sean carried the items upstairs, placing them in the kitchen, then turned to Summer and said.

"You amuse yourself for a while, dinner will be ready soon."

Summer Shawcross followed him into the kitchen, considerately saying, "Let me help you a bit."

"The kitchen’s smoky, it’s not good for your skin." Sean looked at her and then said.

"My skin’s quite fine, I’m not afraid of a little smoke!" Summer Shawcross chuckled.

Sean’s cooking was excellent, and she loved everything he made. It’s a shame she hadn’t learned a thing or two from him before. Now that he was cooking, she naturally wanted to pick up a few tricks to perhaps cook for Noah Drexler in the future.

Thinking of this, a thin smile appeared on Summer’s face.

Seeing her insist on staying, Sean had no choice but to let her, saying nothing, and continued washing vegetables.

Summer Shawcross walked over, picked up the kitchen knife next to her, and started helping him chop vegetables.

Perhaps because the knife hadn’t been used in a long time, it was a bit clumsy while chopping. Summer bit her lip and applied more force...

But who would have thought, with one hard push, she ended up cutting her finger.

Stunned, it wasn’t until she saw the blood streaming from her finger that she gasped, unable to hold back a comment.

"It hurts..."

Sean quickly turned around, his expression turning tense when he saw her injured finger.
