Chapter 669: Soul Injury

After saying that, Bai Hanyun smiled and added, "The supplies inside this Qiankun Pouch should be enough for all of you to share."

Seeing that his friends were still marveling at the black Qiankun Pouch, Hua Yuyu said, "Stop asking questions and start dividing the supplies."

"Yes, Captain." Reminded by him, the others quickly got to work.

While they were working, time flew by in the blink of an eye. By the time they finished dividing the supplies, the moon had risen high in the night sky.

Wiping the sweat off her chin with the back of her hand, Bai Hanyun put away the empty black Qiankun Pouch and looked at Hua Yuyu and the others.

"This is the last batch," she announced.

Turning to look at her, Hua Yuyu said, "These supplies could last us for months. Thank you, Miss Bai."

Waving her hand casually, Bai Hanyun grinned. "Providing supplies and support is the least I can do for our team. If you need anything, just tell me."

"Alright."

Now that they had finished dividing the supplies, Ouyang Zhuangyu said, "Captain, we will leave right away."

Knowing that they couldn’t waste time here, Hua Yuyu nodded. "Alright. Be careful. If you find something is wrong, abandon the mission immediately."

"Understood."

With that, Ouyang Zhuangyu, Gao Gong, Wang Kaimu, and Wang Kaiye packed up their belongings and left the abandoned village.

Watching the armored car disappear into the darkness, Bai Hanyun turned to Hua Yuyu, who was standing beside her, and said, "Brother Hua, I’m going to contact Gui Ying to ask about the Yang Mirror’s condition. Do you want to join me?"

"No," Hua Yuyu said. "We will go back to interrogate that soldier."

"Alright."

Hua Yuyu thought for a second, then asked, "Miss Bai, when will you plan to join the main team?"

Looking up at the waxing crescent moon hung on the night sky, Bai Hanyun replied, "Tonight. It would be easier for me to sneak into the army in the dark."

"Understood."

Now that they had nothing left to do here, Hua Yuyu said, "Then we will go back to the village courtyard to join Shengjie. If you need anything, please contact us."

"Got it."

Leaving those words behind, Hua Yuyu, Xie Wei, and Wu Jun left the village house.

After they disappeared from her sight, Bai Hanyun returned to the main house. Sitting around the wooden table in the bedroom, she took out her phone and dialed Gui Ying’s number.

While waiting for the call to be connected, she took out an emergency lamp and turned it on. In an instant, the dark bedroom became bright like daytime.

Far away in the Gui Clan’s secret realm, Gui Ying was watching a short drama when a call suddenly came in.

Looking at the caller ID, he raised his brows slightly before answering, "Fairy Bai, it’s rare for you to call this young master."

Hearing his lazy voice through the speaker, Bai Hanyun smiled slightly. "I’m calling to check on the Yang Mirror. How is his condition now?"

Understanding her reason for calling at night, Gui Ying switched to a video call, which Bai Hanyun accepted immediately.

"Let this young master show you his current condition."

Getting up from the lounge chair, Gui Ying snapped his fingers and disappeared. A second later, he appeared in front of the spiritual hot spring located in the back mountain.

Pointing the camera at the mirror submerged in the hot spring, Gui Ying zoomed in and said, "Do you see that crack on the surface?"

Bai Hanyun narrowed her eyes and took a closer look before replying, "Yes. It seems smaller and narrower than before."

"That’s right. He is recovering well," Gui Ying explained.

Bai Hanyun let out a sigh of relief, then asked, "When will he fully recover?"

Gui Ying pondered for a moment before answering, "Soon. However, this young master still needs to check on his soul, so it will take some time before he can return to your side."

Frowning slightly at his words, Bai Hanyun asked with a hint of worry in her voice, "His soul is injured?"

Gui Ying switched the camera back to the front and nodded. "Yes. It’s a miracle that he only suffered a soul injury and did not disappear entirely."

Glancing at the Yang Mirror in the hot spring, he added, "The one who attacked the Yin Yang Mirrors must have wanted their lives."

Bai Hanyun’s frown deepened at his words. After a brief moment of silence, she asked, "Do you know who is behind that barrier?"

Shaking his head, Gui Ying replied, "We are investigating this matter, but we haven’t found anything for now."

Noticing her worried expression, he added, "Don’t worry about this matter. Instead, you should worry about yourself."

Raising her brows, Bai Hanyun asked curiously, "Do you know something?"

Gui Ying rolled his eyes and said, "Have you forgotten that you still haven’t paid the price for peeking into someone else’s past?"

The moment Bai Hanyun heard this, she asked, "The Yin Mirror told you?"

Gui Ying gave her a side glance and replied, "Do you think this young master still needs to ask the Yin Mirror about such a small matter?"

After he said that, Bai Hanyun fell silent for a few seconds, then chuckled. "Yeah, I forgot that you are very powerful."

Seeing how calm she was, Gui Ying raised his brows slightly and said probingly, "You don’t seem to care about the heavenly punishment."

Bai Hanyun shrugged. "I can’t do anything about that. Instead of worrying about something I have no control over, I’d rather put my mind and energy into something I can control."

Gui Ying stared at her for a while, then chuckled. "Fairy Bai is right. Remember, if you see the sky suddenly turning dark, call me as soon as possible."

Realizing that he was reminding her to ask for backup when the heavenly punishment came, Bai Hanyun smiled.

"Understood."

Now that she had checked on the Yang Mirror, Bai Hanyun said, "I’m going to join Feng Xiyan now. Talk to you later."

Gui Ying yawned before responding, "Alright."

Ending the video call, Gui Ying snapped his fingers and disappeared from the spiritual hot spring.

The moment he left, a black mist seeped into the back mountain.
