Chapter 1202

Preparations for cooking outdoors were complete

“Chi? Chi-chi?”

“Chi!”

“Ah, Cokka and Trice are here too. But don’t go too close to the fire! You’ll get roasted too!”

It was a simple stove made of bricks and a metal plate.

Perhaps the sight was rather unusual, as the two cockatrices were interested and were peering into the fire.

However, they jumped back in surprise after I warned them.

“Wuff! Wuff! Wuff!”

“You can do it, mama!”

“Wuff! Wou!?”

Leo was going around and lighting all of the stoves.

Liza was riding on her back and cheering her on. However, Leo was a little too enthusiastic and ended up blowing away some of the bricks… But at least she was having fun.

“Good Leo. It would be helpful if you slowed down a little…”

“Wuff…”

Ms. Chita and the others watched Leo and made adjustments.

We also had some buckets of water nearby, just in case…

Regardless, all of the preparations were complete now, so we just needed to wait for Ms. Helena to bring the ingredients, and then we could start making the hamburgers.

“Mr. Takumi, the ingredients are ready!”

“Thank you, Ms. Helena.”

It was then that Ms. Helena came out of the house.

She was followed by a line of cooks that were carrying plates of food.

“Mr. Takumi…are you sure that I should help? After all…I made quite a mess…last time…”

Ms. Gelda said worriedly.

“It will be fine. After all, there is no orc blood nearby. You just need to shape the minced meat.”

I had discussed the matter with Ms. Helena in advance, and we made sure that there was nothing dangerous close by.

I couldn’t see what could go wrong…other than her dropping things onto the grass. But at least the cockatrices could eat it.

“Gelda, you have been provided this opportunity by Mr. Takumi. Why not try it?”

“Ms. Lyra… Yes, very well!”

Ms. Gelda shook a little, but stood up straight with determination.

I hoped she was not too nervous, as she would then be more likely to make mistakes.

“I want to eat Gelda’s cooking again too.”

“Yes. I want you to eat it too. And everyone else!”

“Now that I think about it, wasn’t it Ms. Gelda who taught Ms. Lyra how to cook…”

Judging by what I had seen of the two, it was hard to imagine Ms. Gelda teaching the capable Ms. Lyra anything.

However, Ms. Gelda was actually not a bad cook.

It was just that she suddenly became clumsy one day… And she started to make mistakes when cooking.

“Even when she was teaching me, she would sometimes make small mistakes, like cutting her fingers… But then it became so much worse. She would do things that should be very difficult, like flipping things over.”

Ms. Lyra started to reminisce.

When I had first started cooking, I was pretty clumsy too, and had multiple bandaids on my fingers.

Perhaps I had been the one making other people nervous back then…
