My Beloved Dog is the Strongest in Another World-Chapter 1208
The reason for the big failures was revealed
“Are you saying that the reason that Ms. Gelda strangely tends to make mistakes while I’m around…”
“Yes! I did my best!”
“What!?”
“So Ms. Gelda only looked clumsy because…”
“…No? It was not all me. Even though I worked hard!”
The fairy said proudly.
“Um… So those failures…even when I was trying to be so careful… They were…”
“Hehe. Be thankful. I kept all of those men away from you, Ms. Gelda! Of course that man…he had a Silver Fenrir. So I had to be more careful. It couldn’t be too obvious.”
“Ms. Gelda’s troubles were all because of this fairy…”
It really was an unexpected explanation.
Now that I thought about it, fairies were supposed to be mischievous. I suppose it was true for this one.
But then again, it didn’t seem to think of this as mischief. It was rather proud about what it had accomplished.
“Uh, and why did you want to keep men away from Ms. Gelda?”
“Because she is…”
She then told us that Ms. Gelda was once very fond of a certain boy back at the orphanage.
And so she wanted to cook him something, since it was a skill she was proud of. And though she cut her finger a little, she managed to make something very delicious…
The fairy pointed out that Ms. Gelda had always been slightly clumsy.
However, this boy. He did not touch the food, but pushed Ms. Gelda away.
Apparently, he had been teased by the other children, and had become too embarrassed to accept it.
At this point in the story, Ms. Gelda remembered the event as well. And she made excuses, saying the boy was embarrassed because of the others, and that she should have given it to him in private, or that it was a bad idea to begin with.
“And then what?”
“It was then that things got even worse. Because she tripped and fell in front of everyone.”
“Yes, I think I remember that. I helped treat her later.”
“Yes…I still have the scar…”
Ms. Lyra remembered it as well, which was further proof that it had happened.
Apparently, the plate had shattered, and one of the shards had cut her arm… And it was deep enough to leave a scar.
Regardless, the fairy just happened to be watching at the time. And it became very interested in Ms. Gelda.
“Why were you near the orphanage?”
“We fairies love children. And so we often go to peaceful places where children can be found. Of course, we usually just watch them. That is all.”
“But not with Ms. Gelda…”
Apparently, the fairy saw Ms. Gelda crying and felt sorry for her. And so they made a contract.
A contract so that the fairy would protect her by keeping boys away… It sounded like a familiar contract, but it was different.
Agreements between fairies and children were special. There was no binding force. It was more just like a verbal promise.
“But I don’t remember any contract… All I remember is that I was crying…”
“We fairies are supposed to stay hidden from humans. So you are made to forget after I disappear. However, I think you are starting to remember again?” ℞𝐚Ŋ𝐎ΒĘš
“…Now that you mention it…perhaps? Well…not really.”
“Well, it might take more time then.”
