My Beloved Dog is the Strongest in Another World-Chapter 1231
I told them to go and play in the forest
“There are monsters…of course?”
“Yes. Though, they have not come close to the town recently. Perhaps it is because of good Leo. Orcs are a little dull to such things though, so we sometimes have to deal with them.”
“If they hunt orcs, would you take them?”
“Yes. They can be used for food. Besides, any monsters hunted in the area are usually brought back to us for proper processing. If it is orcs, we will even pay you.”
“In that case, could I send the fenrirs out to hunt orcs for a while?”
“That is fine. No, it is very much welcome.”
The guard nodded with a serious expression. But he also looked relieved.
In that case, it seemed like a good idea.
“Uh…you guys. You stay here as a messenger. And while I’m sure that you wouldn’t, do not attack any horses or humans. Got it?”
“Grau!”
“As for the rest of you, go play in the forest. You can hunt any monsters you find there.”
“Grau!”
I had five of the fenrirs stay behind, and sent the other fifteen into the forest.
Both sides did not seem to mind, and they barked and nodded in agreement.
“However, if you do hunt, then bring the monsters back with you. Uh…what if the monsters are too large to carry?”
“In that case, let us know, and we will send people to bring it back. Unless it is too large for even them…”
“In general, you should not be hunting so much that you can’t bring it back. Just hunt when you encounter something, instead of going out to look for prey… I know, only hunt if you think the monster is dangerously close to the town. And do not go too deep into the forest. When we are ready to leave, we will send one of the waiting fenrirs to go and call you. Understand?”
“Grau!”
The fenrirs wagged their tails happily.
In the meantime, Leo was talking to the other fenrirs, telling them to be friendly with the horses and giving them advice.
—
“Woah, they are fast. Even though I am used to seeing them. They clearly had energy to spare.”
“Wuff-wuff.”
We watched as the fifteen fenrirs dashed off towards the forest.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, Mr. Takumi.”
“Papa, they were all well-behaved!”
Ms. Lyra and Liza returned after taking the other fenrirs to the stables. They were holding hands as they walked.
Liza really did like Ms. Lyra. The only times she seemed to not miss me or Leo was when they were together.
“Alright, let’s go then.”
“Yes.”
“Wuff!”
After reuniting, we entered Ractos and made our way to the planned destination.
Well, my main reason for coming was to run and get tired. But there was one other reason.
I wanted to visit Mr. Haines’s store to see if they had something…
—
“By the way, Ms. Lyra, how long did it take us to get here?”
I asked her while we walked down the streets.
It was past midday when we left. The sun was still high in the sky, and looked like it would be some time before it starts to set.
“I think…an hour and a half.”
“…I must have been running faster than I thought then.”
“Yes. At first, you were running similar to a horse.”
“I see…”
If the distance between the house and Ractos was approximately fifteen kilometers, that meant I was running at ten kilometers per hour.
That was close to a marathon run… Though, I would never do it again.
Of course, horses would be much faster if they were running seriously. If I wasn’t wrong, they could run at seventy while carrying a human.
As for Leo and the fenrirs, well, they were basically overpowered when it came to running…
