Chapter 778: Chapter 696 Threat (Part 2)

"I used my own channels to find out who leaked information and photos about my past relationship. I want to ask you, Mr. Mo—what grudge do you have against me that you’re targeting me like this?"

Upon hearing Huang Shan’s words, Mo Wenwan couldn’t help but smile faintly.

She had already sensed beforehand that Huang Shan might use various connections to eventually trace this back to her, but she hadn’t expected it to happen so quickly. It seemed Huang Shan did have some network in the entertainment industry, or perhaps there was something inexplicable between her and Li Li.

"I recall Mr. Li has always been backing you, hasn’t he? Was he not helping you this time?"

"What do you mean?"

The sudden mention of Li Li made Huang Shan visibly uncomfortable. Initially, she had only intended to settle the score with Mo Wenwan, but now she realized the latter seemed to know far more than she had anticipated. After a moment of contemplation, she couldn’t help but say, "This matter has nothing to do with him, and I don’t need him to step in."

"It seems you’ve overestimated yourself, Miss Huang."

As soon as Mo Wenwan said this, Huang Shan’s expression turned dazed. She hadn’t been paying much attention initially, but everything changed as she stared intently at Huang Shan. She said with a piercing focus, "I don’t like your behavior. Do you really think you can rise to the ranks of A-list actresses within a year? With acting skills like yours, you’re simply unqualified."

"Whether I’m qualified has nothing to do with you. You’re in no position to criticize me."

There was a tinge of disdain in Mo Wenwan’s gaze as she sized up Huang Shan, her thoughts shifting momentarily. After carefully considering, she realized that not everything could be judged by appearances alone. She finally said, "Since you don’t want to have a proper conversation, I can’t force it. As for your ex-boyfriend, he’s quite the opportunist. He’s willing to spill anything for personal gain, even to the extent of not retaining these photos but handing them all directly to me."

With that, Mo Wenwan pulled out a sealed envelope from the drawer, extracting an appropriately modest photo to display in front of Huang Shan: "Take a look for yourself."

When Huang Shan’s gaze landed on the photo, her entire being nearly collapsed into a state of despair.

"You... How do you have these photos?"

Mo Wenwan noticed her face turn pale, and her trembling voice proved just how agitated she felt inside. After carefully observing her reaction, Mo Wenwan retrieved the photo and remarked, "You’ll need to ask your ex-boyfriend. People will do anything for money. Anything."

"You mean to tell me it was him who gave you these photos?"

Huang Shan refused to believe her private photos were handed over to Mo Wenwan by her ex-boyfriend. The thought that he had crossed such a line and shared something so intimate with a stranger pushed her emotions to the brink of madness.

"That’s why you need to choose men who have principles and integrity. Since the photos are in my possession, I’d better clarify a few things sooner rather than later." As Mo Wenwan spoke, she tucked the photos back into the envelope, her gaze remaining fixed on Huang Shan the entire time.

"What do you want?"

When Huang Shan had first met Mo Wenwan, she had been unafraid. But now, with those photos revealed, she was genuinely worried—terrified, in fact—that Mo Wenwan might release them online out of spite. If those photos were leaked, her acting career would certainly end prematurely, leaving her unable to survive in the entertainment industry.

Mo Wenwan’s expression remained steady throughout, and when she saw Huang Shan’s anxious demeanor, she scoffed: "The competition at Geda Entertainment Company is fierce these days. Without deliberate leaks, it’s really hard to stay relevant. I’m not trying to make things difficult for you. As long as you obey me, these photos won’t be exposed."
