My Borderline Supervillain-Slash-Hero System-Chapter 62: The Wolf King, Sebastian Hemp
Chapter 62: Chapter 62: The Wolf King, Sebastian Hemp
Inside a long-forgotten mansion nestled near the serene Tussar River, a massive, bare-chested man lounged on a throne-like white chair. His upper body was thick with fur, like a beast in human skin.
He was none other than the infamous Celestial Wolf King—Sebastian Hemp.
The mansion, though abandoned by most standards, remained oddly pristine and cozy. It was his personal den—isolated, strategic, and overlooked.
Suddenly, the heavy double doors of the hall creaked open with a booming echo.
Three robust men entered with hurried steps. As they crossed the threshold, all three dropped to a knee and bowed deeply.
"Your Highness," they greeted in unison. "We bring urgent news from Galbaza Town."
Sebastian remained seated, his golden eyes half-lidded with indifference. With a lazy flick of his fingers, he gestured for them to proceed.
"Make it quick."
The three subordinates exchanged nervous glances, silently urging each other to speak.
Sebastian’s expression darkened. "Enough with the theatrics," he growled. "Unless you want your teeth fed back to you."
One of them cleared his throat quickly. "Sire, the report is... rather unusual. A disturbance in Galbaza Town."
The name caught Sebastian’s attention. He shifted slightly on his throne, interest piqued.
He had fond memories of Galbaza—a city of fleeting pleasures and dangerous trades. He’d visited thrice before, and if not for his current obligations, he might have returned just for fun.
"I’m listening," he said, tone now sharp.
Another subordinate stepped forward. "It’s about three individuals causing quite a stir. They were going around town... openly asking about you, sire."
Sebastian raised a brow. "Is that so?" He leaned forward slightly, a grin playing at the corner of his lips. "Brave little fools. If they got as far as asking about me, they must’ve learned I’m somewhere nearby."
The three nodded nervously, sweat gathering on their foreheads.
"Well then, who’s the boss of the Information House in Galbaza?" Sebastian asked, tone suddenly businesslike. "Add him to my acquisition list. If he can dig up things that dangerous, he’s worth keeping. Buy him out or bring him into the fold."
A calm voice echoed from the shadows behind the throne.
"Yes, my lord. Consider it done."
The three subordinates stiffened. They recognized the voice but saw no one.
Sebastian smirked. "What, surprised? He’s always around. Focus."
One of them stepped forward, holding out a folder filled with documents.
"Your Highness, here’s the full report."
Sebastian took it lazily and flipped open the folder. On the first page were three images: a young man, a muscular older man, and a regal-looking woman with a crown-like tiara resting atop her hair.
He narrowed his eyes at the woman.
"So... these three are the ones asking for my whereabouts," he muttered. "And this dwarf here must be the information broker, right?"
The three nodded.
Sebastian continued reading. The report detailed their entrance into Galbaza Town aboard a specialized Dragonic Horse carriage—rare and expensive transport.
The vampire woman had tipped the driver generously. The exact amount was even noted in the report.
Sebastian flipped to the next page, reading about how the trio had gained easy access to the town. The woman had casually tossed bundles of Arthridian notes at the guards, earning quite the reputation among them.
He raised an eyebrow. "Bold," he muttered.
Then came the part about their visit to the Information Broker’s den. Sebastian’s eyes narrowed.
The account here was vague. Almost nothing was written about what happened inside the broker’s shop—only that they inquired about the Celestial Wolf King and apparently received accurate directions.
"What is this?" he barked. "Why is there barely any intel about what happened inside the broker’s shop? This page reads like a child’s diary!"
The atmosphere turned tense.
Everyone knew Sebastian could be easily pleased—until he wasn’t. His anger was quick, brutal, and rarely merciful.
One of the informers, more cunning than the rest, spoke up quickly, "Your Highness, we tried everything—bribes, pressure, even intimidation—but the broker kept his mouth sealed."
"Useless," Sebastian grunted.
The quick-witted subordinate continued. "But... his assistant slipped. He confirmed that they did inquire about you and were given your approximate location."
Sebastian sat back in thought, stroking the fur on his arm.
"And when you pressed the assistant?" he asked coldly.
"He refused to speak further, sire," the informer replied. "Claimed he didn’t know anything more."
Sebastian frowned and turned back to the report in his lap, eyes scanning the next section.
It detailed the trio’s visit to a beast mana core shop. According to the report, the vampire lady had gone on a shopping spree, spending a staggering amount and buying up over eighty percent of the town’s available beast cores and rare materials.
What shocked him most, though, was the payment—thirty times the actual price, and that too, given freely as tips without bargaining.
"Insane," he muttered. "She must be loaded."
The report continued, stating the trio then checked into a local tavern. However, their lavish spending attracted unwanted attention.
Five notorious individuals in town had pursued them—three skilled assassins, a seductress from a vampire noble house, and Fudu, the infamous old mage with a poison-laced cane.
They tracked the trio to the tavern.
Sebastian’s interest peaked as the report described the encounter. A fight broke out, and despite being surrounded, Zane had dispatched the three assassins without using a single skill. The report contained detailed observations of his movements, footwork, and physical techniques—enough for even Zane himself to discover the strengths and weaknesses in his combat style.
"Efficient," Sebastian murmured, flipping the page.
The next portion described the battle between Zane and Fudu. The old man had unleashed a barrage of water-based spells—some laced with poison—yet none of them so much as grazed the youth.
Just as Fudu prepared to unleash his strongest technique, Zane activated a swift movement skill, bypassed all defenses, and ended the battle in a single precise strike to the forehead.
"Impressive," Sebastian muttered. Then he frowned. "Wait... where’s the rest?"
He flipped the final page, only to find it blank.
"What?!" he snarled. "Where is the fight between the two women? What about the other human?"
One of the informers stepped forward, trembling slightly. "S-sir, no one saw the fight between the ladies. But based on what we gathered, the vampire woman killed the seductress using a forbidden technique—Blood Magic. As for the other human... he never appeared during the fight at all."
Sebastian’s fist clenched. "This report is trash."
A spark of crimson flame ignited from his fingertip. With a flick, he burned the entire folder into black ash.
"Leave," he growled.
The three informers bowed and scrambled out of the hall, their heads low.
Silence settled over the throne room—until a tall figure in a crisp white suit stepped forward from the shadows.
His presence was elegant and unhurried, his silver hair flowing behind him like a curtain of moonlight.
Eren Fox. One of the Five Generals of the Celestial Wolf King’s inner circle.
"What do you think, Sebastian?" Eren asked, voice calm. "From what I’ve read, they’re far from ordinary. Perhaps we should leave this continent tonight and return to our homeland."
Sebastian’s golden eyes gleamed with irritation.
"Don’t get emotional. And don’t let fear cloud your judgement. You know why we’re here—we’re not tourists. This mission is about infiltrating the Arthridian Kingdom from within. And now, we’ve found a golden opportunity."
He tapped the armrest of his throne.
"That girl... I’m almost certain she’s Princess Erlin, the youngest daughter of the Arthridian royal family—the one who mysteriously vanished four years ago."
Eren raised a brow. "If that’s true, then things just got more complicated."
"Not complicated. Opportune." Sebastian stood, towering. "We capture her, use her bloodline against the throne, and shatter their foundation from the inside."
"And the two humans?"
Sebastian waved his hand casually. "Easy. That vampire girl uses blood magic, so we’ll send an anti-mana specialist. Someone immune to spellcasters."
He leaned closer, voice lowering to a cold whisper.
"As for the young human... he’s fast. But speed alone means nothing. I’ll send the Three Black-Eyed Brothers. They’re designed to counter movement-based fighters."
Eren’s gaze fell to the final photograph in the now-ash report.
"And this man?" he asked, pointing at Shelby’s image. "There’s nothing on his fighting style or abilities. Isn’t that... risky?"
Sebastian’s tone turned serious. "It doesn’t matter. I’ll use my expendable pawns to probe his capabilities. Once I understand how he fights, I’ll strike."
"And if everything fails?"
A smirk crossed Sebastian’s lips. He raised a hand, revealing a glowing talisman etched with ancient runes.
"If things go south... I still have the Escape Talisman my grandfather gave me. One use—guaranteed to teleport us beyond the reach of any pursuers."
