Chapter 67: Chapter 67 Fighting Sebastian

While Zane was adjusting to his new surroundings, his feet still too light for the normal gravity, the System chimed with a fresh notification that floated across his vision.

Ding!

Unbeknownst to Zane and his group, far away, in an aesthetic mansion near the Tussar Lake and forest, Sebastian Hemp, the so-called Celestial Wolf King, was watching closely.

He lounged back on his throne, eyes glued to a magical viewing mirror, while beside him stood the white-clad sorcerer Eren Fox, hands raised to maintain the spell.

The glass shimmered with movement—displaying a clear feed of Zane and his companions entering the trap-filled forest.

"They’ve finally shown up," Sebastian said, a crooked grin spreading across his face. "About time. The show begins now."

"What about the sound?" he asked, eyes narrowing.

"Visual only," Eren replied. "Sound casting isn’t my forte."

"Tch. Fine. Just show me what’s so important about these three."

In the glass, they saw Zane take the lead, sprinting alone through the trees while Erlin and Shelby followed behind at a relaxed pace.

"What’s this now?" Sebastian frowned. "Looks like that big guy’s using the boy as bait. A scout, maybe? But... look at the way that human boy and the vampire girl glance at each other. Huh. Suspicious."

Eren shrugged. "They’re in love."

Sebastian’s eyes widened. "What?! A vampire princess and a human? Get the hell out of here."

"I’m serious."

Sebastian muttered under his breath, shaking his head. "I knew this continent was full of weirdos."

They continued watching, their eyes narrowing as Zane reached the first magical trap. His eyes glowed red, piercing through the mist.

"Look at that," Sebastian said, leaning forward. "Ever seen a human with eyes like that?"

"Plenty of beings, yes. But not a single human," Eren answered.

Zane triggered the ice trap. They watched as he shattered a giant frozen chunk with a simple punch.

"...He’s good," Sebastian admitted, crossing his arms.

Then came the flaming trap. Zane walked through it—walked—without a scratch, his sword absorbing the fire. Next, the storm trap. Again, he strolled through it like a calm afternoon walk.

"What the hell? Who the hell placed these traps?" Sebastian barked.

"Jo-Jo," Eren replied calmly.

"Call that idiot right now! I thought he was a professional!" Sebastian growled. "Even a squirrel could have passed through that crap."

Eren didn’t respond.

But then the screen showed Zane collapsing under the intense gravitational trap.

His body hit the ground with a thud. His wails echoed in the viewing mirror as his limbs trembled under the pressure.

Sebastian burst into laughter.

"Ha-ha-ha! Now that’s more like it! That’s what I call a real trap!"

But Eren’s expression had changed. He narrowed his eyes.

"I think I understand him now," he said softly.

Sebastian turned to him. "Oh? Tell me."

"I know why he was able to break the ice with a punch... and why the tornado trap didn’t even slow him down."

"Well, don’t keep me waiting."

"It’s his weight," Eren explained.

"...His weight?" ƒгeewёbnovel.com

"Think about it. If his normal body weight is over 500 kilograms, then inside the gravity field it becomes over 10,000 kg—enough to crush anyone. That’s why he collapsed."

Sebastian blinked, then muttered. "So that’s why the storm trap didn’t affect him... He’s too heavy to be blown away."

They watched on as Zane’s condition worsened. His body shook. He coughed blood. His health bar—visible only to Zane—was surely on the verge of hitting zero.

"...He’s gonna die," Sebastian said with an amused snort. "Why is he even holding on? Just give up already."

But then the unexpected happened.

Zane—bloody, broken, and half-buried under pressure—suddenly crawled up, pushing against the crushing weight. He sat upright, back straight, like a warrior reborn.

Sebastian narrowed his eyes. "Hmph... What an arrogant human."

The scene continued unfolding in the magic mirror. Shelby and Erlin appeared in the frame, charging toward Zane. Sebastian watched with disdain as Shelby effortlessly crushed each magical trap underfoot as if they were nothing more than fragile glass.

"What...?" Sebastian frowned.

Soon, they reached the final trap—where Zane was still seated, meditating inside the gravity zone. Shelby stepped inside without hesitation, sat down in front of him, and remained there in silence. Hours passed. Daylight waned.

Then, Zane stood up.

A clear aura surrounded him. His expression was calm, his body radiating vitality and control. Moments later, Shelby lifted a foot and—BOOM!—the entire gravity trap exploded into nothingness.

Sebastian’s face turned red. "Get me Jo Jo! Now!"

"I... can’t," Eren replied cautiously. "He’s long gone. Besides, judging from what we just saw, these people were using the traps to train themselves. Not only did the traps not hinder them—they helped them."

Sebastian slammed his hand into a table, shattering it. "Useless trash traps! That’s what they were!"

Eren remained calm. "Prince Sebastian, we need to leave. Their strength... it’s more than we estimated. Use your talisman. Retreat, while we still can."

Sebastian shot him a glare. "Shut up, Eren. If you’re scared, go. I’m not going anywhere."

Eren sighed, knowing further persuasion was pointless. Instead, he resumed watching the mirror silently.

But then—Shelby turned.

He lifted his head, eyes locking straight at them through the viewing glass. His lips curled into a knowing smirk. He raised a hand, pointed directly toward the mirror, and moved his lips silently.

And then—with a flick of his fingers—the mirror in front of Sebastian and Eren shattered into glowing shards.

"...They found us," Eren muttered, jaw tightening. "He broke the visual relay spell. That man... he saw everything. Shelby is no ordinary mentor."

"I know what I saw," Sebastian muttered. "But so what? Let them come."

Eren hesitated. He wanted to insist they retreat while they had the chance, but one look at Sebastian’s face told him it was useless.

"I’m not afraid," he finally said. "I’m not nervous, either. My job is to protect you—even if it costs my life."

Sebastian’s lips curled into a savage grin. "Good. It’s been a while since we’ve had a real fight."

"...Yes," Eren echoed, voice low. "Today is the day."

Meanwhile...

Zane, Shelby, and Erlin moved through the now-safe stretch of the forest, leaving the last trap behind them.

The sun had dipped near the horizon, casting the sky in brilliant shades of red and violet. Shadows stretched longer across the ground.

Just as they reached a clearing—a safe place with no magical interference—a strange sensation pricked their senses.

The air shifted.

And then—flickers of movement.

All around them, shadowy figures emerged from the trees, slinking into position in total silence. Dozens. Maybe more.
