My Bugged System Made Me Too OP!-Chapter 48: Limit
The glowing blue interface hovered quietly in the air.
[Supreme Magus System$&@?!]
[Host: Noah Whiteheart]
[Level: 9]
[EXP: 100/100$&@?]
[Rank: Core Magus (mid)]
[Elements: Ice, Lightning]
[Mana: 1120/1120]
[Health: 200/200]
[Strength: 15]
[Agility: 16]
[Stamina: 15]
[Endurance: 14]
[Sense: 19]
[Supreme Points: 10]
Noah’s eyes widened instantly.
His gaze locked onto one particular line on the screen.
[Mana: 1120/1120]
For a moment, he simply stared at the number.
Then a sharp breath escaped his lips.
’It’s over...’
His fingers tightened slightly against the tree branch he was sitting on.
’A thousand!’
A slow smirk began forming on his face.
The number still felt unbelievable.
’It more than doubled...’ he thought, leaning back slightly against the rough bark behind him. ’I didn’t expect that...’
Before coming here, his total mana had been far lower.
The increase from absorbing the dense mana in this area had been far greater than he originally predicted.
But as surprising as it was...
This was a good thing.
A very good thing.
Noah’s eyes gleamed faintly as he continued staring at the floating status screen.
Right now, he was only a Core Magus.
Not even a high-ranked one yet, but one at the mid stage.
Yet despite that...
His mana had already reached 1120.
That number alone was extraordinary.
From what he knew about the cultivation ranks of magi, each major stage normally possessed a huge difference in mana capacity.
On average, magi of a higher rank possessed about three times the mana of those in the rank below them.
For example...
A magus at the Adept Rank would normally have roughly three times more mana than someone in the Apprentice Rank.
And the pattern continued upward.
Each new rank drastically expanded the mana capacity of the magus.
Which meant that normally, someone at the Core Magus stage shouldn’t have anywhere near this much mana.
His smirk widened slightly.
Because when he compared that number to what he knew about the usual progression...
Such a massive amount of mana was clearly on the level of a Master Magus.
Or possibly even higher.
The implication made Noah’s heart beat slightly faster.
Because this meant something extremely important.
It meant that when facing other magi of the same rank, he would possess a massive advantage.
Mana was the lifeblood of magic.
The more mana a magus had, the longer they could fight.
The more spells they could cast.
The longer they could maintain powerful abilities.
And right now...
Noah’s mana pool completely surpassed what someone at his rank should possess.
Which meant that in a battle of endurance, he could easily outlast any magus at the Core stage.
Even those stronger than him.
And not just that.
With such an enormous reserve of mana supporting his spells...
He could even fight magi of a higher rank on relatively even grounds.
The thought alone caused the smirk on his face to deepen.
It was a feat that would be completely impossible for any other magus.
Something that should not have been possible at all.
Except... for him.
Noah’s smirk widened slightly.
Because the reason for that exception was obvious.
The system.
His fingers lightly tapped the bark of the branch beneath him as a quiet chuckle escaped his lips.
’The possibilities are just endless...’ he thought.
"Hehe."
The soft laugh left his mouth before he could stop it.
With that, he swiped the system screen away.
With the status gone, Noah slowly unfolded his legs and stood up on the branch.
His muscles felt slightly stiff after sitting in the lotus position for so long.
So he rolled his shoulders.
Then stretched his arms above his head.
A faint cracking sound came from his joints as he loosened his body.
After a few more small stretches, Noah stepped closer to the edge of the branch and looked down.
The forest floor rested several meters below him.
Leaves, roots, and patches of grass covered the ground beneath the tree.
Noah clicked his tongue softly.
"Tch."
His gaze drifted briefly through the surrounding area again.
The rich mana in this place was still extremely noticeable.
Even now, he could feel the thick currents of energy drifting lazily through the air.
If possible...
He would have liked to remain here longer.
To continue absorbing the abundant mana for as long as he could.
Places like this were incredibly rare.
The amount of mana present here could drastically accelerate his growth.
But unfortunately...
He couldn’t do that.
Earlier, while he was still absorbing the surrounding energy, something had happened.
After reaching a certain point...
His mana core had suddenly begun vibrating.
At first it had been subtle.
Just a faint trembling sensation deep within his chest.
But the longer he tried to continue absorbing mana, the stronger that vibration became.
It was almost as if the core itself was refusing to accept any more energy.
At the same time, the mana channels running throughout his body—his mana veins—had also reached their limit.
They felt completely full, and over saturated with energy.
When he tried pulling more mana inward, he could feel resistance spreading through his body.
It was as though his entire body was rejecting the incoming mana.
A clear warning sign.
Noah had immediately stopped when he felt it.
Because he understood what it meant.
He had reached his limit.
At least for now.
Trying to force more mana into his body at that moment would have been reckless.
And potentially dangerous.
So he had simply stopped the absorption process.
The realization had been slightly disappointing.
Before that moment, Noah had genuinely believed he could simply keep absorbing mana endlessly.
As long as there was enough mana around him, he thought he could take as much as he wanted.
But clearly...
That wasn’t how things worked.
There was still a limit.
And that limit came from his current strength.
He could only handle so much energy at his current level.
Anything beyond that would require a stronger foundation.
His eyes narrowed slightly in thought.
If his current strength couldn’t handle absorbing more mana...
Then the solution was simple.
He just needed to grow stronger.
His lips curved upward slightly as a determined glint appeared in his eyes.
’Then I’ll be able to absorb as much as I want.’
