My Celestial Ascension-Chapter 499: A Letter
Archmage Isadora instructed the female hunters to prepare food for everyone, and by her side was Crown Prince Daniel, who was very bored from sitting inside his carriage and no longer wanted to stay inside the tent specially prepared for him.
'Today, Archmage Isadora seems a little different. She's not her usual self. She blushes from time to time and giggles like a fool… this is absolutely not like her!' he thought, noticing the slight changes in Archmage Isadora's behavior, as if her mind was somewhere else.
'What could have happened to her?' Daniel wondered inwardly, intrigued by the sudden change in Archmage Isadora's behavior.
After pondering for a moment, he decided to approach her directly and ask instead of making baseless guesses.
He got close to her and asked with a mischievous smile on his face, "Archmage Isadora, what's with you these days? You look quite cheerful and why are you blushing from time to time?"
"It's nothing, really, I'm just feeling quite happy," Archmage Isadora replied with a smile.
"Happy? On what occasion, Archmage Isadora? I don't quite understand." Daniel looked confused.
"Well, you wouldn't understand things related to women, so you better respect me and stay out of my business, Crown Prince Daniel." Archmage Isadora replied with a sigh. She couldn't tell him that she couldn't get rid of the image of Yuan's naked body and his massive dick.
"This is…" Crown Prince Daniel was surprised by Archmage Isadora's sudden harsh words. He never thought she would get angry about that.
*Cough!* *Cough!* Daniel cleared his throat and said, "Well, if you're not comfortable enough to tell me, I won't ask you about it."
"Much appreciated, Crown Prince Daniel." Archmage Isadora nodded with a smile and went toward the female hunters who were preparing food for everyone.
Inside the tent, King Richard took his seat at his study table and quickly retrieved a fine-looking piece of paper, a bottle of ink, and a pen made from a very rare monster feather with a gold nib.
'It's time I wrote a letter to my wives about our return, or I can't imagine what kind of unimaginable things will happen to me once I return to the royal palace…' King Richard thought. Just the thought of his wives furiously looking at him made him feel a shiver down his spine.
He then dipped the nib of the pen in the ink and prepared to write on the paper. The paper he was using was a special kind that had magical properties and was very expensive.
The paper had a unique magical ability: once someone wrote something on it and infused it with their magic while imagining the person the letter was intended for, the paper would magically transform into a bird made of paper and fly to the person to whom the letter was meant.
The paper would only transform back to its original appearance once it reached its destination. Thus, this paper was quite expensive and only used to send important messages to someone far away.
This kind of paper is often used by aristocrats to communicate with their family members or to send important messages to their subordinates. Once King Richard finished writing the letter, he infused his mana into the paper while thinking about his wife, Queen Matilda Windfall.
As soon as he did that, the paper began to magically transform into a bird and flew out of the tent at an extremely fast speed.
"Finally, I can relax peacefully. The thought of my wives killing me was making me really worried. Now, with the letter sent, I don't have to worry about that anymore." King Richard leaned against the chair and sighed in relief, as though a massive weight had been lifted from his shoulders.
Looking at the ceiling of the tent, King Richard muttered to himself, "Once we get back, I'll have to make arrangements for a huge banquet to celebrate our victory and to honor those who put their lives on the line and contributed to the mission's success."
"Especially Yuan and his wives, who were the very reason we won the battle against the corrupted monsters with very few casualties. I have to thank them properly." King Richard couldn't help but feel very grateful to Yuan and his wives for defeating all the corrupted monsters completely, eradicating every single one of them from the world.
"A grand banquet that will leave the other kingdoms of the Lionheart Empire speechless! Hahaha!" King Richard laughed at the thought of the other kings' and queens' shocked expressions upon seeing the grandeur of the banquet.
"Father, what are you laughing at like that? Did something happen?" Tristan entered the tent and saw his father laughing like a madman and asked.
King Richard stopped laughing, turned around, and said with a wide grin on his face, "Oh, it's nothing. I was just planning to arrange a grand banquet to celebrate our victory over the corrupted monsters. A grand banquet that will leave everyone speechless!"
"I see… I think it's a brilliant idea, Father! I'm sure that aristocrats from other nations would be shocked at the grandeur of our celebration banquet!" Tristan exclaimed, an anticipated and excited look on his face.
"We have collected so many rare and exotic monster materials from this trip. If we sold them in an auction house at the Imperial City of the empire, we would earn a fortune." King Richard said with a wide, greedy smile on his face, not hiding his excitement.
"One-tenth of that income is more than enough for the banquet, and we can keep the rest of the money for ourselves and use that money to strengthen the kingdom further."
"With so much gold, our kingdom will become the number one kingdom within the Lionheart Empire, and no one else would dare to mess with us." As King Richard said this, his eyes sparkled with excitement.
'Indeed. Although we lost a few men from this expedition, we gained greatly from it. We can do a lot of things with so much money.' Tristan thought, and a dazed smile appeared on his face.
—
In the royal palace, a beautiful woman was sitting at a small but elegant tea table, enjoying a delicious cup of tea with her three fellow sisters and the beautiful view of the flower garden in the bright moonlight.
The women were none other than the wives of King Richard: Queen Matilda and her sisters Giselle, Celine, and Aurelia. They had finally gotten some free time after working tirelessly all day and decided to enjoy the serene garden under the moonlit sky.
"This environment is quite peaceful, don't you think, sisters?" Giselle said after taking a small sip from her cup, looking at the flowers blooming in the soft glow of the moonlight.
"It indeed is. Sadly, our husband and son aren't here with us to enjoy this view as well," Aurelia said, putting a cookie into her mouth and savoring its sweetness along with the view of the beautiful flowers.
Celine then took a deep breath and sighed. "I wonder how they're doing inside the Forest of Never Return. Are they still fighting those dangerous corrupted monsters? Or are they still searching for them?"
"I wonder the same thing every day and every moment…only time will tell us. Be patient, sisters," Queen Matilda said, gazing at the twinkling stars in the night sky along with the beautiful moon.
Whoosh! Suddenly, a bird made of paper appeared before them, and with a golden light, it transformed into an envelope before slowly descending onto the small table beside Queen Matilda.
"A magical letter? From whom?"
Queen Matilda looked at the letter that had suddenly arrived with raised eyebrows, wondering who could be the sender.
"Sister Matilda, why don't you just open the letter and read it? This way, you'll know the sender, and besides, it could be from our husband and son, don't you think?" Aurelia suggested, also very curious about the sender.
"Indeed," Giselle nodded with a smile. "Sister Aurelia is right, open the letter, Sister Matilda!"
"Well, you guys are right. Let's find out who wrote this letter…" Matilda nodded with a smile before picking up the letter and began opening it.
As soon as she opened the letter and began to read it, her expression changed drastically. Her eyes began to moisten, she covered her mouth with her beautiful, slender hand, and tears started to roll down her cheeks.
Seeing this, her sisters looked at her with perplexed expressions, wondering what could be written in that letter.
"S-Sister Matilda, what's written in that letter?" Aurelia asked, a concerned look on her face.
Matilda turned around upon hearing Aurelia's voice, and a sweet smile appeared on her face shortly after she wiped away the tears from her eyes.
"Sisters! You won't believe what's written in this letter! You'll be overjoyed when you see this!" Matilda exclaimed with a wide, excited grin, holding out the letter.
The sisters looked at Matilda, surprised by her sudden cheerfulness and excitement.
'Just what kind of spell is written in this letter that made sister sad and, at the same time, so cheerful and excited?!' they all wondered, curiosity evident on their faces.
The three of them stood up abruptly and quickly snatched the letter from Matilda's hand, eagerly reading its contents.
"This is…" They were shocked and surprised by what they read, their faces reflecting disbelief.
The three sisters looked at Matilda with teary eyes, smiling with happiness.
"You saw it right. Our husband and son are currently on their way here and will arrive in three days… They've successfully eradicated those vile creatures," Matilda nodded with a smile.
"F-Finally… Finally, they have won the battle and are returning… I'm so happy reading this letter," Aurelia said, unable to contain her emotions as tears of joy streamed down her face.
