My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation-Chapter 323: Their Watermelon
Chapter 323: Their Watermelon
(Karsten)
(Seven Months Later)
We spent the past seven months setting up our home, our baby’s nursery and settling into our new life.
I had never imagined sharing a room with someone, but now I couldn’t even imagine sleeping without her in my arms.
She stirred, still fast asleep, her flowery scent had me nuzzling her neck. My hands caressed her pregnant belly. It had bulged out so much in the last few months.
Our baby had grown and the doctor had given us a date of exactly one week from now. Placing a feathery kiss on her neck, I crawled down and moved over to the other side.
Picking up the hem of her nightgown I snuck my face inside and placed my lips and hands on her belly.
She shivered and her sleepy voice came, "Karsten?"
"Hey! Good morning my beautiful Blue Rose. Just waking up our baby."
We never found out the gender of our baby, keeping it a secret but the doctor told us he or she was healthy and ready to pop out.
Arata pulled open her gown and stared down at me through sleepy eyes but a perfect smile.
"She is going to start kicking." My radiant wife’s hands landed in my hair, lovingly weaving them back from my forehead.
Arata was sure that our baby was a girl.
I pressed my cheeks on her popped out bellybutton, pushing it in and she laughed like beautiful music for my ears.
A slow kick landed on my cheek, and I felt my heart double in size for the love I held for this tiny creature I had yet to meet.
"Oh! She is awake and she recognises her father’s touch." Arata pressed me further into her belly, making me feel closer to them both.
"Your father loves you, my little watermelon." Arata laughed at all the nicknames I kept giving our baby. I always asked what fruit size he or she was.
"Watermelon is soon coming out, get ready for all the hues and cries that are going to follow." Her fingers slowly crawled to my face. Her touch always pushed the darkness away, the one which came with my work. I tried to shield her, as much as I could. From the bloodshed, from the despair that followed.
At times, she was my anchor, understanding how the killings took their toll on me. She would hold me, without judgment, without asking questions, just be there, like the presence I needed.
Peace, there was no peace similar to the one I was experiencing with my face pressed against her pregnant belly.
"I am ready. Can’t wait to have our baby in my arms." I smiled back at my beautiful wife and my phone began to ring, destroying the precious moments between us.
Arata leaned closer to the nightstand and picked up my phone, handing it to me.
Unwillingly, I straightened up, severing the contact with her and glanced at the phone.
Hades; my enforcer’s name flashed on the screen. He was calling me so early in the morning, it couldn’t be good news.
Sighing, I accepted the call while Arata straightened up on the bed and wrapped her warm arms around me, pressing her lips on my back.
"Sorry to disturb you so early in the morning but we caught him."
Someone had been extorting money from local shop owners under our name. The complaint had reached us multiple times, and my men were on it, but I had feared that the culprit was one of our own men.
My back straightened and my body tensed even with Arata’s arms around me.
"Who?"
"Jacal!" Hades calmly answered, the name of one of our men. This angered me, and rage boiled inside. Arata’s lips instantly latched onto the side of my neck, grounding me.
"No one touches him. I am on my way." Ending the call I just closed my eyes and let the feeling of her touch rock me to peace.
"Bad news?" She asked, quietly.
"I am afraid. As much as I wanted to spend more time with you like this. I have to go."
Her palms slid against my naked arms. "I will be here when you return. Go, take care of it. I love you." She placed one last kiss on my cheek and squeezed my forearms.
I loved how she always understood my business time.
I climbed down the bed and turned to face her.
"When I return, we will continue from here. Both of you are sleeping in my lap today."
She smiled with a hearty nod. "Deal."
"Have a healthy breakfast." Arata’s mom was here, since we were so close to her giving birth I knew she would be relaxed with her here.
"Will do." frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
I freshened up, changed my attire and left with Caysir.
Hades was waiting for me in the dungeon where they had tied up Jacal against the wall with his arms tied to a hook in the ceiling with metal chains.
The sinister red light must have made me appear like the devil as I entered the room and sent him a death glare.
The fear that descended in his eyes at my arrival was like that of a prey about to be hunted down and torn apart by the apex predator.
"Mast—err!" His voice trembled as his body shook. I planted myself right in front of him, my arms crossed and legs wide.
"Did you use the Toledo name to collect money from poor shopkeepers under my protection?" I asked, my wrath mounting, straining against the leash I put it under.
"I–was going to bring the money to you, master." The lie, the sheer blatancy of it, had my hand fisting, and I punched his nose so hard that it broke.
The sickening sound reverberated through the air followed by his scream.
"I hate stealers but I hate liars even more." Opening my cufflinks, I peeled the arm of my shirt back. I didn’t want to soil it. Taking out my phone, I handed it to Hades.
My punches rained down on him followed by his thrashing and whimpers.
"Me—rcyyy!"
I didn’t stop until his nose had completely bashed in and the blood seeped out of every hole and every pore of his face.
"Bring me pliers," I ordered Hades and he instantly handed me one from the metal table.
"Once I am done with him, I want his body to be hung in the common area. Let it be a reminder to everyone what happens to those who betray me and abuse their power against the poor."
Forcing what remained of his mouth open, I placed the pliers onto his front incisor and pulled it out with full force.
Violent screams and gurgles of blood followed. I didn’t care in the slightest.
Before I could wrench out all of his teeth, my phone rang in Hades’ hand.
"Sir! It’s your mother-in-law." My heart skipped a beat at his words. I knew she would only call if there was an emergency.
And the only emergency could be related to Arata.
Staring at my bloody hands, I ordered Hades.
"Receive the call and put the phone to my ear."
Hades instantly did as was told.
"Karsten!" Her worried voice came. "Arata’s water broke, you need to hurry to the hospital. We are almost there." Before she could hang up, I heard Arata’s hurtful scream, and the pliers fell from my hands, clattering to the ground.
I had to get to my wife, I couldn’t miss the birth of my child.
