My Co-renting Lady Boss-Chapter 1727 - 1726: School Second Selection
The students knew that participating in the medical competition had many benefits, so naturally, they all wanted to try their hands at it. To weed out those who were just making up the numbers, the school intentionally set the examinations and practical assessments to be extremely strict. Out of a few thousand applicants, it’s estimated that only a few dozen would make it to the process of the medical competition, if not fewer.
The medical competition had widespread involvement, with all departments of Imperial University providing significant support to the medical program. On the day of the examination, even though it wasn’t the weekend, many students from other specialties were given the day off to free up classrooms for the Medical College students’ written exams.
Tang Ming and his three companions were assigned to the same lecture hall. The students there were spaced more than a meter apart, with four teachers proctoring the exam. If any student was caught making small movements, their exam qualification would be directly revoked. The scene was even stricter than the college entrance examination.
After Tang Ming and the others took their seats, they exchanged glances and couldn’t help but start laughing.
After a day of effort, Tang Ming and his friends had prepared four sets of answers. Once the test papers were distributed, they merely needed to transcribe the answers they had memorized by heart to smoothly pass the assessment.
The exam lasted two hours, but Tang Ming and his friends completed it in less than an hour. Apart from Hua Yingjie who earnestly reviewed the test paper, the other three began to sleep directly in the exam room.
Seeing this scene, those students writing feverishly had a look of disdain, and the proctors also seemed helpless and disdainful. But since sleeping wasn’t against the rules, no one said anything more.
After the exam ended, some were happy, and some were worried. Tang Ming and the others happily left the exam room, full of confidence.
Due to the tight schedule, the Medical College teachers worked overtime over the weekend to mark the exam papers, and by Monday, the results were announced.
Out of thousands in the Medical College who took the exam, only over eighty people passed the written assessment. Among all the freshmen, only four passed, and with remarkable grades, they directly outperformed the upperclassmen.
When the scores for the passing students were announced, the Medical College was nearly in an uproar, especially the students from Tang Ming’s exam hall, who started cursing outright, claiming it was outrageous that those guys could doze off during the exam yet achieve such good results.
Even though many people were unwilling, the facts were before them—Tang Ming and the others indeed passed the assessment.
That afternoon, the eighty who passed were gathered in a lecture hall, and Tang Ming and the others sat at the very back.
"Awesome! This is genuinely awesome; among thousands of freshmen, only the four of us passed the written assessment."
Shao Wuyou clenched his fists excitedly, "Look at these people in front of us, most are senior-year students, hardly any second-years, but we pulled this off in our first year—just incredible."
"Yeah, yeah! After the results were announced, so many girls from our grade were giving me covert glances. They must see great potential in me."
Meng Xianjun also looked elated.
"Hey guys, can we keep it low-key? Don’t you have any idea how we got these results?"
Hua Yingjie reminded with a guilty look.
"It’s okay, in terms of medical skills, you and I definitely aren’t inferior to anyone else here. As for these two, they’re just here for the ride."
Tang Ming laughed nonchalantly. The written exam was merely a ticket. He was too lazy to study, which was why he cheated. Otherwise, in terms of medical skill, he didn’t bow to anyone.
Tang Ming and his friends had already become the focus of the entire classroom. The other passing students were looking at them with strange eyes, as only four freshmen emerged out of the crowd and even outperformed their senior students, which was indeed annoying.
Just as everyone was chattering away, the door of the classroom opened, and two elderly men with white hair, accompanied by a middle-aged man in a business suit, walked in.
"Quiet!"
After seating the two elders at the front, the middle-aged man took the podium, "Let me introduce myself, I am the Dean of the Medical Program, my name is Tan Yongsheng."
"First of all, congratulations on passing the registration assessment for the medical competition. However, I must tell you, to represent Imperial University in the national medical competition, you must be elites among elites. Those who used underhanded means to pass the written exam, absolutely cannot pass the upcoming practical assessment."
With that statement, Tan Yongsheng glanced coldly at Tang Ming and the others.
"What’s going on? This person seems to have an issue with us."
Tang Ming asked, puzzled, furrowing his brows.
"I guess he knows we cheated," Meng Xianjun whispered, analyzing, "After all, the assessment questions come from the Medical College, so if someone in the background wants to obtain the questions, they must go through the high ranks of the Medical College."
"Makes sense."
Tang Ming nodded in realization.
Upon hearing this, the people in the classroom started to discuss among themselves. Originally, they thought all those who passed did so through their hard work. Now they realized some had cheated.
Suddenly, everyone turned their gaze towards Tang Ming and the others. For these four freshmen to achieve such good results, there must be an issue!
"Ahem, Dean, don’t make idle talk. With Old Zhang and me here, no one can pull tricks."
The old man in black clothing with a white beard spoke leisurely, "Representatives of Imperial University must have real skills, otherwise it’s a disgrace."
"Old Li is right!"
Tan Yongsheng nodded repeatedly in agreement, introducing, "This is Professor Old Li, a senior master of Traditional Chinese Medicine in our program, and one of the top experts in the national medical field."
"This is Old Zhang, the most senior professor of Western Medicine in our field, who has legitimately earned a senior professor title from a famous overseas Medical University and participated in numerous national and even world-level medical symposiums. If you want to participate in the medical competition, you must pass the review and assessment of these two."
Tan Yongsheng introduced the two elders without expression.
Professor Li and Professor Zhang nodded towards the students behind them.
"Without much ado, since you have passed the written exam, you will now enter the practical assessment phase."
Picking up the file in front of him, Tan Yongsheng announced, "Soon, everyone will follow us to the clinical laboratory to undergo the practical assessment in sequence."
After speaking, Tan Yongsheng accompanied the two old professors out of the classroom, and the others hurriedly followed.
The clinical laboratory of the Medical College is a special place for researching various medical cases and practical courses.
A group arrived at the entrance of the clinical laboratory, and the two old professors entered first, while Tan Yongsheng stood at the door and began reading out the students’ names, asking them to follow him into the laboratory.
"What’s going to be assessed in this practical assessment?"
Shao Wuyou asked with a bewildered expression while looking at the door.
"Probably examining patients or performing first aid?"
Tang Ming wasn’t too sure either.
"It’s too unfair; we haven’t even attended practical courses, so we’re unfamiliar with all this."
Hua Yingjie complained with a disgruntled face.
